Sunshine Cheez-It Big Crackers are a staple in our pantry. They're the perfect size to top with your favorite flavors; ours happens to be cottage cheese with chives. I find I take too many handfuls of small crackers when snacking, but with Cheez-It Big Crackers, I feel satisfied with just one serving. It's the same cracker flavor I've loved since childhood, but in a bigger bite! How will you top yours?
Kashi Dark Chocolate Cherry Granola Bars are perfect for the busy mom on the go. The chocolate pieces are large and ample, and the cherries are tart and distinctive. The bars have a delicious mix of grains and are only lightly sweet, allowing the cherries and dark chocolate to shine through. My only wish is that they were a little larger; one doesn't always satisfy the snack monster.
I've tried many flavors of Pepperidge Farm specialty cookies, but I keep coming back to my favorites--Milano Dark Chocolate. The cookie shells surrounding the filling are light and crispy and snap when you break one in half, just in case you'd like to share. The best part about the cookie exterior is that it's only mildly sweet, so it allows the robust flavor of the delicious dark chocolate to really shine. They're so good, I always hide my bag in my bedroom closet! This mom doesn't like to share them.
The NARS Eyeliner Pencil is a smooth, nicely pigmented eyeliner that can easily be smudged to soften or create a smokey eye. There were only three colors to choose from when I got mine, but Mambo is spot on for what I was looking for--a rich, chocolate brown with a little warmth. It wears well, as you'd expect from a pencil, but the lack of color choices--without having to choose a different formula--is pretty disappointing. All in all, a nice pencil for your basics kit.
After reading excellent reviews in my favorite fashion magazines, I headed over to my Sephora store to try Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touch Eclat Foundation. I found the variety of colors to be decent and the sales rep easily matched a shade to my skin color. As I arrived without makeup and still had a day filled with shopping ahead, the sales rep gave me a complimentary application--one of the perks of shopping at Seohora! She applied the product with a brush and it seemed to blend easily. The color match was right for my tanned olive skin, so away I went with my purchase and fresh face. After a day out, the foundation seemed to last, but my skin felt heavy and oily. As I looked in the mirror before cleansing my face, I noticed the foundation appeared to be heavily applied and almost caked around my few fine lines. However, I was shocked to find three blemishes that were not there when I left home! I chalked it up to an over zealous application and washed it from my face. My normal cleanser removed it easily and I felt like my skin was back to its balanced self. The blemishes healed quickly after not wearing foundation for a few days. When I applied Le Teint Touch Eclat foundation on my own the first time, I chose to use a cosmetic sponge instead of brush, thinking the brush might have been the reason for the heavy coverage on the first try. Application was smooth and easy, yet I still felt as if I had too much foundation settling into my few fine lines. I went over my face again with a clean sponge, but just couldn't get the coverage to feel any lighter. After another day's wear, I felt oily and suffocated with another two blemishes as a reminder. Back into the box and to the store it went. I really wanted to be on trend, but this just didn't work for this 45 year old face.
I've been using the same name brand detergent for as long as I've been doing my own laundry--more than 25 years! We've recently switched most of our household cleaning products over to Method, as we have children and pets and prefer products that are safer and healthy for the environment. I really dragged my heels when it came to my laundry detergent, but a great sale and a fabulous coupon led me to try Method 8X Laundry Detergent in Fresh Air fragrance. I already use and love Method's Liquid Fabric Softener in Fresh Air, so the transition felt natural. Can a product that isn't as harsh on the environment (or on my family's skin!) be tough on dirt? Absolutely! It powers through stains, rinses clean and has won me over. Fresh Air smells like clean laundry should smell after hanging to dry outside. I'm hooked!
As a big fan of Method products, I was excited to find Method Lavendar Lilac Dryer Activated Fabric Softener. I like that Method offers a safer alternative that is healthier for my family. As I don't always like to use liquid softener in my wash cycles and dryer sheets don't seem to evenly soften clothing in the dryer, I love the idea of a Dryer Activated Fabric Softener spray. While the liquid in the bottle is fabulous and gently softens our clothes without leaving behind a waxy residue, the nozzle clogs easily, despite frequent cleaning. I've tried the Fresh Air scent as well, but the nozzle still clogs. Also, I'm not sure why, but I always need more than the advertised number of pumps to soften our laundry. Such a shame, as 100 loads with one bottle would be great! However, it's been about 60 loads in reality. If Method could figure out and way to redesign the package, I'd keep purchasing!
As a large family with children and pets, pets often find their way onto the children's beds--even when they're not so fresh! I was delighted to find Snuggle Plus SuperFresh Fabric Softener, as I wanted a product to make me forget we even have dogs. The product delivers, and more! Unfortunately for me, it delivers a little too much. The scent was overpowering and my children complained that their blankets smell like strong perfume. I decided to use less than the recommended amount with the next wash, but the scent was still too strong. Most notably, the smell remains in clothing even when not washed with the fabric softener. Great concept, but too perfumed for this mom and her family.
Method products have quickly replaced my old standby cleaning products and are taking over my kitchen! I'm delighted to find a safe and effective product that is good for my family, yet tough on my family's messes. Method Sea Minerals Scent Liquid Dish Soap Refill is no exception! I love the large size of the refill and use it in my bathroom soap dispensers. My guests love that it leaves their hands feeling clean and moisturized without a flowery or antiseptic scent. The Sea Minerals scent truly is reminiscent of the seashore. The soft scent is perfectly unisex and makes me long for beach walks whenever I use it. Another great Method product!
