ee amazing things about this foundation: 1. It's full coverage 2. It's ridiculously lightweight 3. It's luminous I don't like matte. And I like full coverage, and would rather not have the pound-of-makeup-on-my-face feeling. I was so excited about this stuff that I just bought it and blends perfectly, covers so well, and gives a beautiful luminous finish without looking oily. I have normal skin which can tend toward slightly oily later in the day; this Nars foundation doesn't make me look greasy. And did I mention that it's full coverage and lightweight? I have acne scars I'm doing the most to rid. And this is my far the holy grail of foundations. One pump each cheek covers the entire face. For night out or weddings two pumps all done with a damp beauty blender. Full even coverage. Not dry and not oily. Perfect formula thus far. Have yet to use something comparable. My #1 go to foundation.
I wanted to give this a fair shot and ignore the negative reviews, especially since many of the negative reviews seemed to be using the textured shadows incorrectly. But I have mixed feelings towards this palette. The shades when you first look at them are absolutely beautiful and it has a nice arrangement of shades. In theory, this palette has the perfect assortment of shades, as I love wearing burgundy and red toned eyeshadows during the colder months. However, the pigmentation and texture of these eyeshadows are rather disappointing. The matte shades are not that pigmented, and I find myself having to dip into the shadows multiple times and more than I have to with any other shadows that I have used. With that being said, the shadows do blend nicely, it just takes some extra work. Now the metal and chrome shades really took me off guard. They are really stiff and I virtually got no pigmentation when I tried applying them with a brush. But then again, I tend to apply these types of shadows with my fingers, so that doesn't really bother me that much, but if you're the type of person to use brushes, don't bother. With that being said, the top row is really gritty and feel dry and like I mentioned before, gritty feeling. I also have to reapply these shades multiple times to get the pigmentation on the eyes that remotely mimics what looks in the actual pan. However, the overall look came out nice, so that is why I have mixed feelings. I don't think this palette is a necessity, considering that there are other palettes that are much more pigmented and easier to work with, especially considering the price point. The packaging also feels slightly cheap.
I have been using the Mia2 daily for 2 weeks now, and all my skin problems have resolved. I have had pretty bad acne most my adult life, nearly always at least one or two zits on my chin or cheeks. And that's while using Proactiv. Initially I used the clairsonic with Origins Checks and Balances cleanser, which I love, and results were ok but not great. Then, when I switched to the Clairsonic gel cleanser, everything changed. No more breakouts. And the ones I had went away so much faster than expected. I've noticed that my skin's texture is remarkably improved. I use Lancome Visionnaire. They say that Clairsonic helps your products sink in more, and I believe it. (Considering how much Visionnaire costs, I'm happy to make every drop work!) My acne scars are going away, too. My pores look smaller, my skin has a glow, and it feels incredible. I have downgraded my makeup to just powder now and it feels great! I wish I had splurged for the Clairsonic plus. I would love to have a stand to put it on; right now it's precariously resting on my pedestal sink. I also like the designs available in the Plus, and I would love to try the body brush. But, I'm glad I at least have the Mia2. The travel case is essential; I wouldn't want to travel without the case. And I really like the timer and beeping features, especially when I first started using it, if I hadn't had the beepers, I would have probably used it for way longer than recommended. It is programmed to beep at the 20-second, 40-second, 50-second, and minute marks. The instructions recommend doing your forehead for 20 seconds, then moving to your cheeks for 20 seconds, then your nose for 10 and your chin for 10. I do it in a different order, but the timers are still helpful. All in all, I echo the reviews from users saying they wish they had gotten this sooner! When I think of all the money I wasted on proactiv and foundations and makeup to cover my skin, I'm sure I could have bought a Mia2 several times over.
Okay so I bought this the day it released and let me tell you it is worth the hype! I got trophy Wife! It's soooo beautiful in tan to dark skin tones! My skin tone is very similar to Rihanna's and I love it! The glitter particles are highly visible! So you need a little bit! Which means this will go a long way! Do get it! I want my highlight so bright that aliens can see me from outer space who that's why I love it!
I used to use Smashbox's primer and I thought it was great. The more I use it though, I find it greasy and if you don't put your makeup on immediately it would lose it's slip. Then I watched a review on the Hourglass primer on youtube and I thought I would give it a try. I'm so glad I did!! It takes one pump to do your whole face, which means no guessing or wasted product. It has the most incredible slip to it and my make looks good all day! I confess that I touch my face throughout the day, but I still am happy with the way my makeup looks at the end of the day. I also feel that this primer helps lock in the moisture so I don't feel so dry, but this is just my opinion. It is a little pricey, but I have wasted so much money on cheaper products and ended up throwing them away that I actually feel I will be saving money by repurchasing this product. Ask for a sample, you won't be sorry! I wasn't!
This is the stuff of dreams. Whether I'm doing a light makeup day or a full face, finishing it off with the UD all-nighter is the best. I don't do touch ups on makeup throughout the day, and this setting spray seriously carries me through. After a long day a work (or a long night of parting) my makeup still looks fresh and flawless. I previously repurchased and repurchased the smaller size, but I have finally accepted that I can't do without this spray and I should really just purchase the full size from now on.
Review for: tarte Park Ave. Princess Bronzer & Contour Palette more...
It's okay, very pigmented, a little hard to blend, and a good amount of excess powder in the pan. I would say It would be a good for my light to medium skin tone sisters out there, but this palette will not work for anyone has a medium to dark skin tone. I wish they had more options for their shade range.
So, if you have a drugstore moisturizer that you like and works good enough for you, don't try this. Because you will fall in love and your cheaper drugstore moisturizer will not be good enough anymore...trust me. I just love this stuff. It is thick and creamy, yet light and airy--I don't know how that works, it just does. Unlike most creams, it does not sit on top of the skin; it sinks in almost immediately. I do not use this as my facial moisturizer, although I imagine it works wonders on people with dry facial skin. My body, however--especially my legs--get very dry and itchy in the winter and this saves my skin. I also purchased it for my mom who has dermatitis and she now uses and loves it as well. I totally recommend, but only if you are okay with abandoning all other creams forever. :)
This product works. Shrinking the look of my pores has been a desire of mine for years. I don't have particularly problematic skin, but my pores seem to have gotten larger looking as I've aged. It's not magic, but where my pores looked big before they've now shrunk in appearance and where you can see them, they appear clearer and less gunk filled. Up until now I've been using the clinique pore refining mask, which I like, and was effective but with much shorter term results. This is a product that seems to maintain it's effectiveness if you use it regularly.
The first time I used it the tingling sensation was very strong for me, but it dissipated after a few minutes. On subsequent uses the tingling is noticeably more mild.
I followed with the marula oil despite my fear that it would clog my pores and make me break out. I've been using it every night since and my skin looks excellent with no break outs. This line really is fantastic.
