Let's be real: you probably wouldn't be on this page, reading this review, if you weren't already subconsciously 90% sure about getting this product. Its name, concept, and packaging have a cult following that's beginning to transcend into household notoriety, and for good reason-- this stuff is so refreshing! I can't promise you that it actually **does** anything, but it does smell good, and feels invigorating. Plus, one spritz will have you feeling fancy and luxe.
This shade is a bright, beautiful red. While the formula is not stalwart enough to go completely without touch-ups, the color stays for a decent amount of time, and after blotting, provides a lovely matte finish. I have this same lip color in a more nude shade and love it, but for this red one, I'd recommend using lip liner to prevent bleeding.
I received this product through Influenster and it was certainly fun to try. Nevertheless, I do have two issues with the formula that would make me hesitant to purchase again, especially considering the price this primer retails for.
If you rub just a little too much, the primer's consistency quickly takes on that of little rubber eraser bits (if that makes any sense). Instead of keeping its lotion texture, it starts to essentially become crumbly. While I finally perfected just the right amount of rubbing in, this flaw surprised me. If this were a $3 drugstore product okay, cool, not entirely unexpected. But Becca? And $40?
This brings me to issue number two; because you can't do a lot of rubbing in, the product does not spread well at all, and a little will not go a long way. The bottle isn't particularly big to start with, and you have to use more product that you should to achieve its "blurring" smoothness.
That said, when you do use a lot of product, (or just dab it on 'problem' areas, as I began doing to conserve more of it) it works great. It's light, smooth, and genuinely velvet-like. Perfect for under-eyes or helping to smooth over bumps.
I initially received this product as a small sample-size packet from Influenster, and liked it enough to give the mask another go. I went for the jar instead of the single-use packets because it was such a good value, and I figured it would be perfect for nights-in with friends. The smell, as can be gathered from other reviews, is not particularly great. However, for a cheap face mask, the formula is very smooth and truly does leave skin feeling refreshed.
I've had mixed experiences with the "Yes To" brand, but thus far, this has been one of my favorite products of their offerings. I have sensitive, easily acne-prone skin, so in addition to using products that target my breakouts and dry out my skin, I'm always careful to use lotions or moisturizing cleansers to replenish what the skin-cleaning products strip away. The Coconut Ultra Hydrating Creme Cleanser is gentle on my skin, and leaves it feeling soft and clean instead of red and irritated.
I love these packets because they're cheap and can be used for so many different recipes! In my own comfort food experience (which involves a lot of these powdered ranch packets) however, I actually prefer the Kroger brand of powdered ranch to the Hidden Valley one. It has more of a vibrant kick.
This line of bronzers is excellent for contouring! They provide just the right amount of blendable and pigmented, and as most Two Faced products go, they are long-lasting. Many people also love the novelty of the candy/chocolate theme that runs throughout this line.
This is one of my favorite high-end foundations, and if you're uber pale and struggle to find a shade that matches your skin-tone accurately (like me), I highly suggest starting with some of the Kat Von D. products. This foundation, while liquid, is a bit on the thicker side. While I usually prefer something a little more lightweight, this formula provides for excellent coverage.
Becca always has such beautiful products for when you want to achieve that, "my face is totally beat, but I'm keeping it natural" look. The colors are long-lasting, gorgeous, and above all...shimmery. I recommend buying/testing in store so you can see which undertones best compliment you!
Kat Von. D has obviously made a household name for herself when it comes to bold and highly-pigmented makeup products. With that acknowledged-- these lipsticks don't disappoint. I've swatched many in stores, and recently borrowed this Brick Red shade from a friend. Honestly, the colors hit you like those "Pow!" and "Bam!" exclamations from old school comic books. They're so bright and gorgeous! My one critique is that for a high-end product like this, I expect a little more long lasting-ness.
