This was another one of those products that I wanted to love but left me feeling underwhelmed. I love anything that is coconut scented so when I saw this at Target I knew I had to buy it. I had long hair at the time with extremely dry and brittle ends from a prior dye job. I tried everything from conditioning treatments to hair oils and nothing seemed to hydrate my hair the way I wanted it to. I used this on both wet and dry hair and saw little to no difference in hydration. It just ended up looking greasy on dry hair and my hair was still brittle as ever. There are many more hair oils that perform better than this one.
I will say however that this oil mist worked great whenever I braided my semi-wet hair and slept on it. I spritzed it over my braid and let it dry overnight. It locked in my waves and made my hair smell super good. But apart from that benefit, I would not repurchase for the sheer fact that it had minimal effect on my hair’s health.
OPI has always stood out in my mind as a brand with cutting edge nail polish formulas. I remember the huge hype behind their shatter polish so I expected the liquid sand formula to be just as unique. It ended up being unique in the sense that it had a gritty, sand-like consistency but that was about it. I was largely underwhelmed by this polish even though I wanted to love it for the color (black with glitter). The texture felt like sand paper and the matte finish left my nails looking dull. I added a top coat which made it even worse. The top coat sunk in between all the particles which enhanced the grit even more. Not to mention it chipped quite easily and was a pain to take off in the end. If you think removing glitter polish is bad, then imagine having to remove glitter and sand-like particles off your nail beds. Not a fun time. I would recommend trying out OPI’s other polish formulas before using this one.
Hair oil treatments have always been my jam! So you can imagine I was pretty stoked when Influenster sent this product my way. I have naturally straight hair with my main hair issue being dryness at the ends. The extraordinary oil is a great way to bring life back into my strands without weighing it down. I use two drops as directed and run it over my damp hair after a shower. It makes my hair silky smooth, shiny, and healthier looking. I’ve even found that I have less of a need to brush my hair when I wake up in the morning because my locks are that silky. Apart from using it after the shower, I find that the extraordinary oil is great for smoothing your hair after heat styling. It eliminates any frizz that was created while curling or waving. The smell is also great and it adds that extra polished shine. Give it a try if you get the chance!
Disclaimer: I was sent this product complimentary of Influenster and Loreal Paris.
I won this curling wand in a Target giveaway years ago. I generally don’t use a barrel smaller than 1 inch but I decided to give it a try anyway. I wasn’t all too impressed by this wand. The barrel was too small for my liking and could only curl small sections of my hair at a time. I have a lot of hair so it’s important for me to have a tool that will allow me to style my hair as quickly as possible. If you have thinner hair and want to achieve small tight curls then maybe this will be better suited for you. The wand also felt pretty cheap. I would invest in a more expensive wand than reach back for this one again.
I have owned my Conair curling iron for years and it has not let me down. Disclaimer: I’ve only owned “cheap” curling irons aka ones available at Target so I cannot compare it to ones at higher price points. I’m not sure what contributes to the longevity of the iron but whatever it is, it has yet to be replaced! The barrel itself heats up quickly and leaves with you with smooth voluminous curls. I personally like to use my iron as a curling wand leaving the clamp pressed up instead. This allows you to have looser waves without any kinks. The attached kick stand is also a plus when you’ve finished curling your hair and need it to cool without touching any surfaces. I have bought other curling irons over the years but still continue to reach for this one.
I have mixed feelings about the Influenster app. On the one hand, I like the convenience of having an app when I’m not on my laptop but on the other hand, there are hiccups that make the app hard to navigate. Here are my thoughts in a nutshell: the app is great for when you're shopping and need to read up on a second or third opinion about a product you're about to buy. But it also works intermittently which makes completing your activities more difficult.
This straightener has lasted me for years! I can’t even tell you when I first purchased this product because it has been that long. I was drawn into one of those hair styling tools kiosks at the mall and was mesmerized by the fact that the tool could straighten and curl (granted this was way before there were a plethora of hot hair tools available). Needless to say, I still use this straightener for those purposes. The straightener heats up quickly and can effortless style all types of hair. I have naturally straight hair but I’ve used this on friends with curly hair and have seen the same results whether it was for straightening, waving, or curling. The plates are not as wide as other straighteners I’ve seen so if you have a lot of hair you might want to try something else. I’m a fan otherwise!
If you are a fan of clay face masks and are looking for something invigorating yet cleansing for your skin, then you’ve come to the right place! The new cold plunge pore mask is not only fun but functional as well. I struggle with oily skin and have large pores around my nose and cheek area. I saw a noticeable difference after only one use. My skin felt ultra refreshed and cleansed. My pores were much smaller and secreted less oil throughout the day than usual. The mask itself was cooling, smooth, and easy to apply with my fingers and the provided brush. I would suggest using your fingers if you don’t want the product to be soaked up by your brush which I found to be a slight issue. Other than that, I was thoroughly satisfied with this mask! I did find that my skin was more sensitive to the sun after using it but it’s nothing a quick slather of spf can’t fix. Disclaimer: I received this product complimentary for testing purposes.

With all the lip moisturizing products out there, nothing really beats good ol’ original Vaseline. I bought the Vaseline cocoa butter mini at Target mainly for its cute packaging. The mini size makes this product conducive for travel and a lifestyle on the go. Don’t let the small size fool you though – this product packs a big punch! I apply this product at night and my lips stay moisturized throughout my slumber. The scent is also yummy! It’s sweet and nutty but not overpowering. I also use Vaseline on my skin as a healing balm of dry cracked skin. My only gripe is that you have to constantly dip your finger into the jar to apply it. I imagine a lot of germs are transferred this way if your fingers are not clean prior to application. Other than that, I would recommend this!
