The new smooth skin formula is wonderful! Dare I even compare the translucent version to..... my beloved Make Up Forever HD pressed powder?! The MUFE one gets pretty pricey, so in between my splurges I like to use this NYC gem to keep that shiny t-zone at bay. Works like a charm buffed on with the elf flat top brush! love itt :-)
I know a lot of youtube beauty gurus rave about this product (which was the reason that I purchased this in the first place), but I personally am not a big fan. The formula is not so oily-skin friendly, and the sponge applicator just seems unsanitary. It did a mediocre job of concealing my dark circles, and over time the product just wore off my face. I'll stick to my mac pro longwear concealer for now! :-)
I remember Vera Bradley being a very popular brand amongst my more spoiled friends... in elementary school, lol. Although I've only ever owned a wallet from them (a birthday gift from one of those friends), there's just something special about this brand. I'm not a huge fan of paisley print, and yes, there is a sort of "grandma" feel to these products, but I've gotta say that I can't help but smile at the bright colors and the durability of their products. All in all I'd say that Vera Bradley is nothing short of a classic brand! :)
I feel like this product is kind of a placebo; I don't feel as if it's truly doing its job and protecting my hair from heat damage. I don't feel much of a difference in my hair when I use this product compared to when I don't, and it's just become a routine purely out of habit to spritz my hair with this stuff before I style it. The smell is nothing great (sort of a generic, wanna-be floral beauty product scent) and I feel like it's just an unnecessary added step to my hair styling routine. I'd much rather invest in a better quality heat protectant spray for when I use hot tools, since I feel like this product does little to none in helping with the damage. Given, styling your hair with heat isn't too great for it to begin with, but this product doesn't really help like it should.
I'm going to boldly state my unpopular opinion and say that I just don't get what's so great about this brand. Most of the items in this line are cheaply made, and I'm not to thrilled about the idea of shelling out upwards of $50 for a flimsy little t-shirt with the word PINK plastered on it. I see countless 13 year olds sporting this brand like no other, and it just seems a bit tacky to me. I get that it's the name you pay for, but I just wish that they would at least put a little more effort into the quality of their goods. Come on VS, I know you can do better!
I always have one or two of these handy squeezable pack in my purse for those devastating hunger attacks (come on, I can't be the only one!), and they're just extremely convenient and healthy (and delicious) little snacks to have on hand whenever! My personal favorite flavor is the chocolate hazelnut. So much better for you then Nutella but taste almost exactly the same!
One word: YUM! If you love peanut butter and are wanting to venture off into the vast world of other artisan nut butters, give this almond butter a go. It's a good alternative to the classic PB for a delicious snack on toast or even just an apple. Two thumbs up Justin's!
