I am a book reviewer, makeup and beauty lover, education enthusiast, and mom of one amazing little boy.
On my off time I love to shop, try new things, and blog about life and books. My husband and I are on the journey towards weight loss, fitness, and health.
All and all, life is pretty great.
Okay, so, my three-year-old absolutely loves these. Myself? Not so much. I can't really describe the taste except to explain it as "drunk food". They are fast to prepare, greasy, and very salty. Perfect if you have been out at the bars all night (and it has been quite a while for me), but not so much when you are looking for something to put on the table for lunch or dinner. I will leave instant pizza rolls to my kiddo and have something a little more suited to my palate.
I love the Ipsy box. I have tried facial masks, skincare products, and new makeup brands that I never would have purchased myself. I don't usually shop for perfume because it's hard for me to really get a feel for scents in an over-saturated shop with high pressure sales people breathing over your shoulder, but I received a sizable sample of my new favorite scent from Ipsy. Ipsy is a lot of fun for those who just like to try new things!
My skin loved this product, a lot. It was lightweight, didn't sting (as some eye products do on my seriously sensitive skin) and seemed to make my skin look better after a few days of using it. The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the smell. The Olay Regenerist products all have a strong scent (to my nose) that makes it harder for me to use them at night before bed, but is all right during the day. As far as price goes, these little guys are a great deal compared to more expensive brands and are a great option if you need affordable skincare.
My son was not a big fan. He took it down well for a couple of weeks and then began screaming every time we tried to feed it to him. We went through so many different formulas before finally ending up on Similac Alimentum. Like most soy formulas, there is a distinct, and not pleasant, odor to this as well.
For most babies, this is a good formula. For my little guy, it was constipation city. He didn't do well on most formulas. He was constantly constipated and gassy. He did very much like the flavor of this particular formula, though. Some babies just have sensitive tummies.
My little reflux baby had horrible reflux and gas on pretty much every formula except for this until he was around nine months old. After starting this, he fussed less, was far more content, and slept a bit longer. I would not recommend switching without talking to a doctor, though. The downside of Alimentum is that it does not taste great, so it took a few days after switching for my son to truly enjoy his bottle.
Review for: Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Bottle Brush, 1 ea more...
This brush came with our bottles and worked really well. Unfortunately, the foam part, which was wonderful at getting into the bottom of the bottle, became dirty and broke down long before my cheaper Munchkin bottle cleaners did. Still, it is worth it if you are formula feeding and need to clean bottles with sticky formula leftovers in the bottom.
