Review for Sally Hansen® Insta-Dri® Nail Polish - 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 3
Review for: Clearly Quick, BLACK TO BLACK, Rapid Red, Ablazing! more...
😏 Nail Polish is my Archenemy. Over the years, I've learned the hard way which brands are pigmented, which brands NEVER 😔 DRY, which brands take a little longer to chip, and which brands dry the fastest. Our friend Sally, legitimately figured out the solution to one of those issues. To be fair, I don't put too much pressure on polish. At the most, I'm satisfied if I can make it through one whole day with minimal polish loss. I'm a mom, a wife and an amimal rescuer, so like most women, my hands are constantly moving. In and out of water, in and out of cleaning products and disinfectants, handling food, etc. We have to be realistic with our expectations. Forget chipping, it's *going* to happen, what I need is friggin fast drying. You don't even want to know how much money I would actually pay for this polish, y'all! The number of times I have literally sat still, waving my arms in front of fans or hair dryers just to think they're dry but they're somehow not is ridiculous. This polish ACTUALLY dries fast. It ACTUALLY only needs 1 swipe application because it's gloriously pigmented! It's worth every penny in every shade. A round of applause for Sally! 👏👏👏

Review for Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask - 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 3
(Please excuse the unsightly tan I have from my sunglasses 😎) I 100% had more faith in the fact that my hair was irreparable than I ever had in this little 60 mL Therapy Session bottle. 💁 Sorry, Eva·NYC, I based my initial hypothesis off facts. My hair is a monster. I'm 31, and it's been dry, brittle and the worst...🙈 falling out 😭 for the better part of a decade..ever since I had my kids. It's super thick (2 xl hair ties to hold it up) and long-reaches to the small of my back. I've tried it all, y'all. Serums ✔ Rinse out AND Leave-In Conditioners ✔ Salon Products ✔ Drugstore Products ✔ "Miracle Masks" ✔ All the home remedies ✔ Every Oil, including the oils in my kitchen ✔ THE HORROR! I just want to not look like I was freshly electrocuted or even not cry when trying to brush my hair, ya know? Eventually I gave up. I've literally worn my hair in a messy bun for a solid 5 years straight 😏 I received this nugget for free, in exchange for my honest opinion, and this honestly was the last product I opened/tried. I devoured the rest within 2 days, this guy sat on the porch for a week. As always, when I took my hair down before my shower, it was a tangled mess. When I say my hair was the desert, what I mean is when I wash/condition my hair using the products I've used for years, after rinsing, the bottom 1/3 is already dry. AFTER RINSING. It literally repels water. So I showered as normal, washed my hair, and applied this mask after applying my face mask. I left them both on for about 10-15 minutes - (this product directs you to wait 2-5 minutes) I washed my face first, then rinsed my hair. 🚨 MY HAIR WAS WET AFTER RINSING! 🚨 I honestly would have been THRILLED if that was the only thing that happened. But the good people at Eva NYC have our backs (and our hair) so it definitely didn't stop there. I don't really know how to explain the scent, other than it's extremely pleasant, not overwhelming, and it does linger. I can still smell it after use all the way until I'm about to wash it again. Hair is smooth, soft and AMAZING!

Review for COVER FX CUSTOM ENHANCER DROPS - 10 months, 2 weeks ago

Review for: Celestial, Sunkissed more...
Well, well, well. I sure hope the Cover FX people are reading these because they need to know what they've done. They've created a monster! 😂 Can't stop won't stop with these liquid lights! Guys, I have a confession. The first time I ever put a highlight on my face...I was 30. 😳 THIRTY. I don't know what I was thinking. Anyways, once I made that leap- I used powder highlights. That was it..powder from day one. While I was in the middle of an accidental 4 hour tutorial binge, I happened across a Beauty Vlogger who used this and it almost knocked me dead. No way could this bottle of heaven look like that in real life. 🚫 So, like most skeptics, I snagged some on the DL. 😂 It's a yes from me, y'all! Load up your glorious cheekbones with this strobe of liquid love and use it to reflect negative attitudes. They'll bounce right off. I'm not even going to go into details, because you literally just need to get it and put it on your face. *Speechless*

Review for Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Butter Bronzer - 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 3
Some people need food and water for survival or to draw their very energy from - this girl needs bronzer. Come on, contour! 😰 While I was getting my life together in my mom's womb 😂😂 we took a left turn on the cheekbones, I don't know WHAT happened. 🙄 I have a circular face, cheekbones somewhere and I'm not a huge fan of cream contour, so I've always used powder. Not to say it was the greatest decision I've ever made, because as you know, my shape situation is not ideal, and powdered bronzer as a sub is a constant 50/50. It either works better than anything else ever has, or it sticks to my face and won't buff out 😳 in which case, a piece of me dies a slow death, because I'm left with no choice but to remove it...and everything under it 😭 Needless to say, I'd rather not experiment with bronzers and punish myself, so I stay in my lane. The problem is, I'm. Addicted. To. Cosmetics. 🙅 So eventually, I stray from my comfort zone, and this guy was one of those exceptions. I felt compelled to rate it 5 stars because I do believe it is *that* good for certain people...like specifically light-porcelain toned people. My skin tone in the winter is typically about a "medium," Summer is obviously a dark medium, and the darkest dark isn't quite dark enough, which was a bit of a bummer. I don't mind having to build a product once in a while if I feel like it's worth the extra umph to get it right, so that's not necessarily a deal breaker for me. It really is an extremely smooth formula, so it does live up to its name. Even when I have built it up a few layers, it didn't look "dirty" as some do once they're on. I also have never experienced am issue with it mixing against foundation-it doesn't get cakey or stiff, it doesn't lose its pigmentation or change colors. It does smell DELICIOUS 😍 which is a plus, if you're into coconutty scents. If you're of a tone that doesn't require a layering build, the product could potentially last a substantial amount of time, and the price is affordable!

Review for Maybelline Master Camo™ Color Correcting Pen - 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 3
First off, of course I'm going to rate these camo pens highly. Not only do I LOVE pens, Maybelline did not disappoint with effectiveness. It took me a few tries to really figure oit the best way to use them, but they're a DREAM, especially if you're one that fights with longterm concerns that you want to cover. Texture is on point, coverage is beautiful, price is WELL worth it, they fit in any bag a lipstick or lip gloss would fit in, no mess application..I could go on forever. Absolutely recommend these.

Review for Clinique - Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF30 - Natural Fair - 40ml/1.3oz - 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 3
Clinique's CC is one of the better options, in my opinion. Not many of them work well for mature skin, and that's a huge benefit of this, as sometimes it's nice when one product can work for multiple clients without having to swap back and forth depending on who is in my chair. It's lightweight, smooths fine lines and wrinkles, rather than setting into them, provides moisture, provides near-perfect coverage, easy application, awesome for a "no makeup-makeup" day. I would feel confident in recommending this one!

Review for e.l.f. Corrective Concealer - 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 3
Okay, in complete honesty, some people swear this little palette is effective. I have no idea what skin tone or type those people have, because I've experimented with it a handful of ways and I'm not picking up a wow factor. These shades are kind of crazy, you guys. Like bright, Eastery bold pastels? I don't know how to describe it. Y'all-I love E.L.F. don't get me wrong. But, as with many brands, they have their strong suit, and this is not theirs. You may have better luck if you're fair-porcelain toned. I have found it to settle in fine lines and creases, so it takes some tinkering. It's consistency, in my opinion, is way off. It's thin, dry and doesn't buff in like you would expect it to. Sure, it's affordable, I'd *MAYBE* suggest it if you needed one last minute for traveling, but only if you've used it before because it's not user friendly. Definitely not one of my favorites.

Review for wet n wild Photo Focus Correcting Palette - 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 3
The part of me that's a makeup artist loves color correcting palettes, the part of me that just does my own makeup knows that a decent palette is tough to find. In my experience, the "best" color correctors come individually. This Wet N Wild palette is at best, just okay. The texture is kind of a nightmare. It's too thick and a little tough to get on, unless you warm it. I do that by sticking it in a pocket closest to my skin for a few minutes. If you can actually get it on, It's mediocre at color correcting but doesn't seem to cake up under concealer or foundation. Not super impressed with this product, but it does have the potential to get the job done in a pinch.

Review for Crayola Colored Pencils - 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Decorator Expert Level 1
Well deserved #1 rank! Not all art supplies are created equal, just ask my kids. 😂 Crayola is their creative go-to no matter what the project is. Markers, crayons and colored pencils really don't get any better, no wonder they're well known and loved. They're smooth, sturdy and easy to sharpen-even with little hands. Many other brands have tried to dupe them, but there's a reason Crayola remains at the top. 👏
