Ughhhh. This is horrible if you plan on actually using your hands for the next like hour after you put it on. I really like other Moisturizing products from J R Watkins so I’m not sure how this one went so wrong. The texture is super thick and greasy, and leaves thick white patches unless you spend a solid ten or fifteen minutes rubbing it in—I switched to using it on my legs instead of my hands just to use it up. I love the Lemon scent from J R Watkins but I’m NEVER going to buy anything lavender after experiencing this—it smells strongly like black pepper! The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is it still has stellar ingredients and I like the company’s ethics—just not this product.
A mascara that delivers on its promises!! I’ve been using this mascara every day for a week now and it has quickly become my favorite. My lashes are naturally short, straight, kind of stuck together and light brown—wearing this mascara makes me look like I have naturally dark, voluminous lashes with length and definition! My lashes are soft and never crunchy or clumped together (a problem I’ve had with drugstore mascaras). So far I haven’t had an issue with mascara rubbing off onto my skin and making a shadow either (a problem I previously encountered with a more expensive natural mascara). This mascara has stayed on through heat and humidity and working 10-hour days with ease. I even fell asleep one night before taking my makeup off, and woke up the next morning with it still perfectly on my lashes; zero smudges on my face or pillow! The ONLY reason I am giving four stars instead of five is I would really love to see this mascara come in a brown shade instead of only black—I have a very light complexion with light blue eyes and red hair and have found that black can be too strong of a contrast for everyday use ( #TeamNoMakeupMakeup ). I have previously used brown mascaras from drugstore brands and Sephora Collection but their formulas are nowhere near as good as Tarte and they are also not cruelty-free. So please Tarte, add a brown version of this mascara to your lineup for those of us who don’t want to wear black on a daily basis!!
This is like a grownup version of my favorite Warm Vanilla Sugar scent from when I was younger. I don’t experience the pear top notes at all; this is definitely a woody vanilla scent. I have been wearing this for about six weeks now and I get many “What are you wearing? You smell great!” comments. The scent is strongest for the first 2-3 hours, and then fades to subtle-but-still-there for another 1-2 hours. I’ve been wearing this to work most of the time, but I feel this is better suited for fall/winter and evenings than summer. Overall I like how this perfume reacts with my body chemistry and I’m sure I’ll be wearing this as my signature scent for quite a while since it comes in such a generous 3.4 fl oz bottle. It looks great on my vanity as well. I received this perfume free for testing purposes from Influenster.
I bought this sheet mask at Rite-Aid for about $3 to pop on if I got a zit. I’m cautious about salicylic acid on my face (I had some sensitivity for a while but it seems to have gone back to normal) but this mask is only a 0.5% concentration so it’s fairly mild as far as acne treatments go. I did leave it on longer than the recommended ten minutes to let the serum fully absorb. The first few minutes were probably the most difficult due to my eyes feeling uncomfortable as I unfolded the mask and moved it into just the right position. It wasn’t like burning from fumes, but just general uncomfortableness I think from the serum being close to my eyes at its strongest. My face was red after taking the mask off but the redness faded by morning and I haven’t felt any sensitivity, burning, itching, etc. I did have a blemish by my jaw which thankfully looked smaller and less red the next morning! It had not gone away completely, but it was enough that i could now comfortably cover it with a BB cream. So minus some sensitivity and not completely getting rid of my zit, this mask is great! I’ll probably continue using it every week to keep any zits at bay (or at least minimize them).
I bought this sheet mask at Rite-Aid for like $3 and I’m really glad I did! The serum infused in the mask is cooling and refreshing, and my skin looked less red the next day. I did let it sit for more than the recommended ten minutes—fair warning, the back of the package isn’t kidding when it says there will be a tingling sensation. I suspect it’s the rather high level of denatured alcohol. But for such a good price I think it’s worth it once or twice a week to pop on a Yes To sheet mask, and this feels really good if you’ve been stressed!
I received this as a Christmas gift and it took me a while to get around to using it. I like Belif products and plant-powered skincare in general, so this was a natural fit for me. You can see the bits of real chamomile when you spread the gel on. I didn’t really notice a brightening effect from this mask (even using it several times a week); however it was a good bit of extra hydration before bed and I think that relaxation time is really what helps my skin bounce back.
I bought these cleansing towelettes from Rite-Aid for under $7–cutting them in half, I got two months of use from the 30-pack. I use these every day in the morning as a quick skin refresh after a more intense night routine. The Yes To brand as a whole checks off so many boxes for me: cruelty-free/Leaping Bunny certified, environmentally friendly, affordable, uses natural ingredients, and WORKS! It doesn’t have a blueberry smell like I kind of expected, but that’s okay with me. It’s not moisturizing per se, but my skin doesn’t feel dry or tight after use. I’ll probably bounce around the different Yes To lines whenever I run out, but I’ll be sticking with this brand after using these wipes!
I got a deluxe sample of this mask in a PTR mask sampler kit from Sephora. I’m only in my 20s, so I didn’t notice any firming benefits from sporadically using this mask—perhaps if I was older or using it regularly I’d notice something. The gold color when you layer it on is cute, but is also a little bit of a pain to rinse off. It’s fun and gimmicky, but not something I’ll spend my money on for a full size
I had a deluxe sample of this in a PTR mask sampler kit from Sephora. It’s a gel mask that comes in pretty pink packaging and feels soothing on the skin—and that’s about it. There’s not really much anti-aging benefit you can get from rose stem cells (particularly at such a low concentration and also considering we are humans) but it’s something fun. I doubt i will ever spend the money on a full size, but more deluxe samples for free or in sampler kits would be okay to add some extra moisture and pampering for my skin.
