You can put an oil blotting paper under your eye to catch any fallout. And after you get shadow on the brush, make sure you tap your brush to remove excess before you begin application. You can always go back and apply more, but if you try to cake it all on at once, it's not going to work well. If there is any eye shadow on your face, it be removed by gently sweeping it away with a large fluffy brush. You don't want to use your fingers because that can cause the makeup to smear. In a word, YES. Soft, no shedding and inexpensive. I purchased expensive brushes in the past that shed and lasted about two years with regular maintenance. I still have EcoTools brushes from five years ago that look and feel brand new!
