This was one of my favorite books as a child. I don't know how I've forgotten about it. I used to pretend to have a secret garden myself. The book was like a haven to me when I was a little girl, I learned when things got rough to go out into my own secret garden just as she did.
I love Beverly Clary books! I'm 27 and I will never outgrow Ramona and Beezus! Ramona the pest is one of my favorites, especially as a younger sister with 3 older siblings. Ramona is always up to something and even when she means well, she is often in the way or making things worse. This book as well as all Beverly Clary books are worth reading, getting lost in. Warning though; they're hard to put down!
Another timeless classic! The kids love the little blue train that gives them a lesson in always believing in themselves no matter how hard the struggle gets. "I think I can, I think I can. I KNOW I can! " even when the bigger, faster trains try to get the blue train discouraged, he pulls through and shows them that HE can do it.
This was for sure and early childhood classic! I remember my kindergarten teacher even had a fish that accompanied this book with removable scales, even the sparkly one. I remember it being read to me from pre-k all the way through about 2nd grade and I loved this book!
I grew up reading these books and loved them all so much! We would go to the library every Saturday and I would get a few of these for the week. I'm hoping my daughter will grow up loving them as much as I did
