I like buying Nasoya tofu because it is inexpensive, widely available, organic, and a very versatile protein product. The cubed variety is so convenient, because I end up spending time cubing the whole block of tofu otherwise. I like using tofu in a quick vegetarian stir fry or in hot and sour soup. In general, I find tofu much more affordable, easier to handle, and nutritionally beneficial compared to meat options.
I'm always looking for crunchy dog treats that are made with simple, nutritious, wheat free ingredients. The Zuke's Crunchy Naturals treats do just that! My lab mix enjoys these treats because they are big enough to crunch down on and they don't upset her wheat-related stomach allergies. I like that I can find these treats on Amazon in a variety of flavors. My only small complaint is that the flavors always smell very strong and sweet, almost like candy. The banana flavor treats smell like artificial circus peanut candy, even though real banana pieces are used and clearly visible. These treats are also a bit on the pricey side, but you can find them at a good price when discounted.
I was drawn to this toothpaste because it leaves out some of the artificial ingredients in conventional toothpaste, but also offers fluoride to protect against cavities. I have enjoyed using this toothpaste, but it is different in certain ways from my usual toothpaste. The taste and texture are fine, but take some getting used to. The texture is a bit thinner and "goopier" and the flavor is not incredibly sweet or very minty in a lasting way. My teeth also feel like they build up tartar more quickly. I am satisfied with this Tom's of Maine toothpaste for the most part because my teeth do feel very clean after brushing, but some aspects do noticeably differ from conventional toothpaste.
Review for: Mrs. Meyer's Radish Hand Soap - 12.5 oz more...
I purchased the Mrs. Meyer's radish hand soap on sale and honestly wasn't sure what the fragrance would be like. I have really enjoyed the scent, though it is hard to place! I think it smells sort of like roses and grass, mixed with something sweet and spicy. I would recommend if you like light, natural floral or botanical scents. The soap itself feels soft and sudsy, without being too drying. I love that the scent lingers for a while. I am a big fan of Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products in general because they are free of harsh ingredients and offer a more gentle, safe option. I also really enjoy the colorful, simple packaging and creative scent lines. The radish red packaging is perfect for the end of the summer, going into fall! My bathroom looks very seasonally appropriate. :)
I started using the Alba Botanica Hawaiian Moisturizer after transitioning a lot of my personal care products to those with natural ingredients. I generally like the Alba Botanica brand because it is still pretty affordable and widely available, and the products offer gentler, more natural ingredient formulas. I use this moisturizer at night after cleansing my face. The formula feels cooling and lightweight, rubbing in easily without an oily feel. The scent is nice and smells like cucumber melon to me. I don't get breakouts from this moisturizer and it seems to provide lasting hydration throughout the night. A little goes a long way! It has taken me months to get through the small 3oz. container. I will probably purchase again because I enjoy the lightweight formula, hydration benefits, and the natural ingredients.
I bought this Neutrogena Naturals face wash because I wanted an affordable, natural ingredient product. I liked that this face wash is free of some of the big, harsh, unrecognizable ingredients and that the ingredients are almost completely plant derived and explained on the back of the bottle. I like that the product is not tested on animals and that the bottle is made from recycled plastic. I enjoy the simple look of the packaging. Even though the bottle seems a bit small, the formula goes a long way and lathers and rinses well. My skin always feels clean, without feeling too dry or stripped after washing. The only adverse effect I've had from this face wash is that it turns my face kind of red under my eyes and around my nose after I use it. The formula is supposed to be hypoallergenic and I do not have sensitive skin. I'm not sure which ingredient is responsible, but it may be from the salicylic acid in the willowbark, as described on the bottle. The redness doesn't bother me and I still continue to enjoy using this Neutrogena face wash. I do wonder if this happens to other people.
I've tried several varieties of The Body Shop body butters and the British Rose scent was one of my favorites so far. I really liked the very dewy, light, and moisturizing feel of the body butter, and the subtle sheen that was left behind on my skin. I would only recommend buying this scent if you love the smell of roses because the fragrance is quite strong and floral. I would use this body butter as a hand cream at night and apply to my elbows and knees as well. My skin always felt very soft and hydrated after using. The packaging design and pale pink color of the body butter was very aesthetically pleasing. This felt like a very luxurious product and I finished the entire pot after using a bit here and there for months. I would definitely repurchase, in a bigger container size next time!
I was searching for some natural ingredient chewing gum when I purchased a variety pack of Simply Gum. I liked that the gum is made with only a few recognizable ingredients and a plant-based gum. I enjoy the unique variety of flavors, especially the maple and coffee. The cinnamon and peppermint flavors were good, but I did not care much for the fennel and ginger flavors due to bitterness and my own personal preference. The gum is lightly sweetened and flavored and has a great chewy texture. I really liked the individual flip-up box packaging and the simple design. I don't know if I would purchase Simply Gum again because it is quite expensive and I was not thrilled with all of the flavors. However, it is a nice alternative to the multi-colored, artificial ingredient-filled chewing gum in most stores.
I bought the Palmer's Coconut Oil body wash because it was an affordable, healthier ingredient soap option from Walmart.com. I liked that the formula left out some of the harsh ingredients in conventional body wash and included nourishing, plant-based ingredients. The formula itself is thick and very soft, but I had a hard time trying to get any lather unless I used a lot of the soap. I felt like I was washing without much soap. I also am not wild about the scent. Someone online described the scent as smelling like a Krispy Kreme doughnut and I think that that is a very accurate description. The fragrance makes me feel a bit sick and I would have preferred a lighter, more natural coconut smell. I probably wouldn't buy this body wash again because I had such a problem trying to create any lather. However, I did really appreciate that the body wash was inexpensive and made with more natural and sustainable ingredients than conventional products.
