I use this scrub while taking a shower, and it has a strong coffee scent with a hint of peppermint. The scrub is exfoliating, but it does not feel too rough on my skin. The scrub is also easy to rinse off, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. The only downside to this scrub is that it is really messy to use because it is mainly ground coffee, but I do not mind the messiness since it is easy to clean up after. The scrub is also vegan and cruelty-free.
Chocolate is a medium/deep shade with a matte finish, and it works well with my skin tone. This bronzer has good pigment, is buildable, applies smoothly, and blends easily. This bronzer also looks natural and is perfect for every day looks. The only downside to this bronzer is that it is a bit expensive.
The texture of this primer reminds me more of a moisturizer than a silicone based primer, which is a nice change from the normal primers I use. I do not like anything that smells like coconut, and this primer does smell like coconut due to the added coconut water. However, this primer is lightweight, moisturizing, and leaves my face feeling hydrated. Once the primer dries, my makeup applies smoothly. My makeup does last most of the day with this primer, but I would still recommend using a setting spray as a final step. This is a great primer that leaves my face feeling moisturized and ensures my makeup lasts the day, but I do not like the scent.
The Mask of Magnaminty is not one of Lush’s fresh face masks, so it has a shelf life of 3-4 months and it does not need to be refrigerated. This mask can be used on both the face and body, but I only use it once a week on my face. This mask has a strong peppermint scent, but I do not find it overwhelming. This mask is also clay based, so it is rather thick and not that messy to apply. A great thing about this mask is that I only need to wear it for 5-10 minutes before it completely dries. During this time, my face feels tingly from the peppermint oil, but it is not painful. The mask washes off easily and the added aduki beans help exfoliate my skin. The immediate results from using this mask are my face looks clean, feels smooth and moisturized (due to the added honey), and the redness I had is reduced (due to the vanilla absolute). During the next few days after using this mask, my skin will be clearer and my face will also be less oily. I would highly recommend this mask if you have oily or combination oily skin.
The Grownup was originally titled “What Do You Do?” and it was in the anthology Rogues, which is a compilation of 21 stories by authors including George R. R. Martin. The Grownup is about an unnamed con artist who works at a psychic shop called Spiritual Palms. When the narrator meets Susan, she takes advantage of Susan’s instability with her marriage and stepson by setting up an aura-cleansing business of her Victorian home. The book is rather short and only about 60 pages long, which took less than an hour to read. I was skeptical that Flynn could tell a good story in that few pages, but she is the author of Gone Girl. I found the beginning of the story shocking, but it helped set up the narrator’s back story. The middle part of the story was the best because it was the creepiest and I did not know what was going on. The last part of the story was confusing to me with all the twists and turns, and the ending was left ambiguous. I really did not like the ending because I felt like the plot was just getting interesting and I wanted to know more about what was actually happening with Susan. Even though I did not like the ending, I still enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it if you like thrillers with a supernatural element. However, the price of this book is rather high considering the length of the story, and if you do want to read it I would recommend purchasing Rogues instead.
Milk Shake is a light pink shade that is a bit too light for my skin tone. The lipstick does have good pigment, and I love the wand with the small doe foot applicator. This lipstick applies liquid and dries completely matte within a few minutes without feeling sticky on my lips. The lipstick also applies evenly and I only need to use 1 layer. This lipstick is long-lasting, but it is not transfer-proof when eating because the color fades. However, the lipstick does not fade when drinking. A big con of this lipstick is that it is very drying, and the lipstick also settles into the lines of my lips. If I do not exfoliate my lips and use a moisturizer before applying this lipstick, the lipstick will become dry and crumbly and look horrible after a couple of hours. Like with all liquid lipsticks, I would definitely recommend using a lip scrub and moisturizer or lip balm before applying this lipstick. I also believe that the price of this lipstick is too high given the quality of the formula, and there are better liquid lipsticks out there for the price.
Step 1 included a nose strip soaked in product that is used to open the pores. The strip was big enough to cover my nose, and I wore for it 20 minutes. During these 20 minutes, the strip did not move around on my nose. After the 20 minutes, I removed the strip and continued to Step 2, which included a standard blackhead pore strip. I wetted my nose with water, applied the strip, and wore it for 15 minutes. This strip also fit my nose well and it stayed in place. After the 15 minutes, I removed the strip, and it was not that painful to remove. The strip did remove some blackheads from my pores, but it did not remove all of them. The last step was Step 3, which included another nose strip soaked in product that is used to close the pores. Like with the first 2 strips, this one also fit my nose well and did not move around during the 10 minutes I wore it. After my nose absorbed the product, my nose felt soft and moisturized. I would recommend trying this nose pack because I did like the results, and the price is affordable considering there are 3 steps to this pack. However, do set aside some time when using this pack because it took me 45 minutes to complete all the steps. Also, none of the strips irritated my nose, so I believe this pack will be good for those with sensitive skin.
The first time I tried these shoes was about 6 months ago when my feet were cracking. My feet were starting to get bad again, so I purchased another pair of these shoes from Ulta. I would not use these shoes more often than that because I feel the results will not be as effective if you use them more frequently. The package contains a pair of plastic shoes that are filled with a liquid product. The shoes come with tabs to keep them on your feet if you want to walk around in them. The shoes were more than big enough for my feet, so I believe they will fit most shoe sizes. I wore these shoes for close to 2 hours, and it is recommended to wear them for at least 1 hour, so this is not a quick treatment. Like I mentioned before, I can walk around in the shoes, but they can be a little slippery with the product inside them. Besides the slipperiness, the only other downside to these shoes is that the liquid made my feet really cold, and I could not wait to take the shoes off and put on warm comfy socks. After the 2 hours, I took off the shoes and washed my feet in the shower. My feet were slippery after taking off the shoes, so be careful while rinsing your feet. Around 3 days after using the shoes, my feet started peeling a little. By day 5 the whole bottom of my feet were peeling. After a little more than a week the top of my feet peeled some. The peeling was completely done after around 2 weeks. None of the peeling was painful, but it is also advised to not forcefully peel your feet. After I took a shower, my feet did peel more than normal. During the whole 2 weeks my feet were peeling, my feet did not look attractive, so I would suggest wearing covered shoes after using these peeling shoes. Once my feet were done peeling, they were no longer cracked and were left feeling soft and smooth. As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I used these shoes 6 months apart. These shoes are good to use one once in a while because they remove all the dead skin on your feet and leave them feeling nice and smooth.
Trickster is a bright violet shade with a matte finish, and I think I look ridiculous wearing it. I would not wear this lipstick out, but I admire anyone who can pull it off. Even though I do not like the shade, the lipstick does have great pigment, and it applies easily and smoothly. The lipstick takes a while to dry down, and during this time it feels sticky on my lips and it can easily transfer. However, once the lipstick is completely dry, it is long-lasting and mostly transfer proof. The lipstick fades a little when eating or drinking, but it is waterproof. The lipstick is also somewhat drying on the lips, but it is not as drying as liquid lipsticks, but it is more drying than regular lipsticks. I would recommend using a lip scrub and moisturizer or balm before applying this lipstick.
The 4 shades do not have names, but they include:Shade 1: pale pink with a shimmer finishShade 2: mauve with a matte finishShade 3: black with a shimmer finishShade 4: copper with a shimmer finish
All 4 shades have good pigment, and they apply and blend easily with an eyeshadow brush. The shades have a minimal fallout, but Shade 1 and Shade 4 have a little more fallout due to the shimmer. Even though Shade 3 has a shimmer finish, the black appears more matte in person, and the specks of shimmer are barely noticeable. However, the shades can be used to create multiple eye looks from day to night, which is impressive for a palette that only contains 4 shades. The shades do last all day without fading, creasing, or smudging when used with an eyeshadow primer. The palette does not include a mirror or a brush, but it has a compact size that makes it easy to travel with.
