This primer does an okay job of making eyeshadow last longer, but I've found it to be way too dry for my lids. Even with moisturizing beforehand and using a small amount, the primer is super thick and drying and makes my lids look crepe-y. It also makes it really hard to blend, so it creases easily. I really do not like this primer at all, it has been making all of my eyeshadow looks look really awful.
I received a sample in a VoxBox. I'd never tried protein shakes before and was looking forward to this one because I love cookies and cream. I followed the instructions on how to make it, but it turned out lumpy and otherwise just did not taste good at all. Very artificial tasting, and left a bad taste in my mouth. Could not drink more than a few sips.
I'm a believer in using men's deodorants, which I find work better and are less expensive that ones marketed toward women. I got this deodorant in a VoxBox and have been trying it out for a few days, and I have been really liking it so far. It smells nice, and keeps my dry and de-odorized the whole day walking in Texas heat. I really don't feel much difference between this one and my go-to Axe deodorant. I probably will keep using my Axe deodorant, but this is definitely a good option!
Had high hopes for this helping my dry, flaky skin. Unfortunately, after one night of slathering this all over my face I had a really bad allergic reaction. Had hives all over my face that evolved into even dryer, flakier skin. My dermatologist said that she doesn't recommend Aquaphor because she's seen quite a few people who've had reactions.
Personally, I think most individuals will be fine with this product. I am not going to give it one star just because my sensitive self had a bad reaction to it. If you're worried about this, do a patch test.
It's also important to remember that petrolatum (petroleum jelly) is a humectant, so Aquaphor doesn't ADD moisture it just helps RETAIN moisture. Therefore, the best use for this is to use a regular moisturizer and put Aquaphor on top to seal in the moisture during the night. Definitely wouldn't recommend this heavy, greasy moisturizer for the day unless you use very little and don't wear makeup.
These are matte lipsticks that are very pigmented. Not extremely creamy, but they're easy enough to apply. The feathering can be a problem so you might want to use a liner for the darker shades. Have kind of a funky scent, but I can look past it. Grunge is a really pretty warm brown color. It's not super dark or brown enough to look off-putting, so it's really nice for an everyday look.
I have to admit I bought Chateau mostly because of the Exo song ("lipstick chateau, wine color..."), but I also love the dramatic dark wine shade. If you have olive-toned skinned, this shade looks so gorgeous! I definitely need to use a liner with this one. For a less dramatic look, I like to put a very sheer layer of this all over the lips and then build it up in the center for a pretty gradient look.
Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase and would love to try out some of the other colors.
I much prefer the Ultra Satins to the Ultra Mattes. The Ultra Satin formula is very comfortable. Very pigmented. Doesn't completely dry down, it keeps that somewhat sticky feeling. Not transfer-proof like the mattes, but last a long time and don't dry out the lips. I've not read this from anyone else, but the applicator really tickles my lips so it feels strange to apply. Not a big enough problem to deduct a star. The reason for 4 stars is the sticky feeling these leave on your lips- enough that you can feel it when you're talking. Overall these are cheap lip products that deliver pigmented color in a non-drying formula. I'm impressed.
As a lifetime fan of Selena, I had to get these lipsticks. Thank goodness for the restock in January. I got the shades Amor Prohibido, the light nude color, and Dreaming of You, the matte dark wine color. I've never used Mac lipsticks before, and I'm impressed. Amor Prohibido is somewhat sheer, but shows up as a pretty, pinky-brown. I was afraid it'd be too orange-toned, but shows up as more nude-brown on my light-medium olive skin tone. Dreaming of You is a gorgeous deep burgundy that looks great on warm toned people, especially those with deeper skin tones. Both are very comfortable on the lips and have good lasting power. If you're a fan of Selena and enjoy Mac lipsticks or have been wanting to try them, don't hesitate to try this line out!
If you're unfamiliar, hydrocolloid bandages can be used on pimples to remove the moisture, which flattens the pimple.
To use, gently pierce the pimple head with a sterilized needle and slap on a bandage. Leave for several hours (usually overnight), and wake up with a flattened blemish. It's usually still a little red, but it makes it much easier to cover up with makeup and it heals very fast.
While you can use any hydrocolloid bandage from the drug store, these by COSRX are wonderful because they are already cut to the right sizes. They come in three sizes of circle depending on how big the blemish is.
They stick to the skin very well; I've never had one come off during the night. Super effective and great for when you have an event and need to quickly reduce the appearance of acne.
I enjoyed Estee Lauder's DW foundation while I used it, but I most likely won't be buying it again.
Pros: -Full coverage -Lasts all day, even through 100 degree weather -Great color selection
Cons: -Would sometimes look cakey on dry areas. I would often have to remove the foundation from certain areas and reapply using a lot less product. -Sets super quickly, not enough time to fully blend. -Looked a little "obvious" on the skin.
I would apply the foundation with the Real Techniques sponge, and while most of the time it looked nice, there were several days where it just looked too cakey. For the price, I want something that works for me all the time, not just when my skin is good.
