Review for Noxzema Original Deep Cleansing Cream - 1 month, 1 week ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
I used this product as a teenager and I cringe now when thinking about it. I am a person that is very attracted to scents, and I was really obsessed with the smell of Noxzema for so long. I have combination skin, and didn't realize that with salicylic acid you can easily dry your skin out if you use it too often. Well, I grew up and quickly out of the phase of using what was cheap and readily available to me at the drugstore. One of the problem ingredients in this cleansing cream is Triethanolamine. Triethanolamine which combines two highly toxic chemicals (ethylene oxide and ammonia), neither which should be recommend in skin care use. Even though it is used in A LOT of beauty products, all the way from skin care, makeup and even our perfumes. This chemical can cause irritation and inflammation even when using it for a short period of time. Be cautious of this ingredient, because it can still be included in products that claim to be hypo-allergic. Even the CDC says that you shouldn't consume no more than 5% of this product at any given time because of all the side effects and it's toxicity. You can easily get a chemical burn from using this too frequently. So, that burning sensation you get from this product? No. Dump it in the trash immediately. Pay for some good skin care, because we all should take care of our skin, not drown it in toxic products.

Review for Soap & Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator - 1 month, 1 week ago

Oh my goodness, the smell of this cream is heavenly! I'm big on scent when it comes to a product, which can really make or break my opinion on something. Soap and Glory has a lot of hits, and misses with me. But, when I was gifted this product I couldn't stop putting it under my nose and inhaling deeply. The next thing I noticed was that this is a very whipped formula, that turns into a light cream on the skin. It is very lightweight, causes no irritation to my sensitive skin and immediately helped the dry patches I was severely aggravated at during the winter. I always try to incorporate this into my skincare routine at LEAST once a week. It feels very luxurious on the skin, sinks in quickly and is decently priced. I find my skin is always luminous, and hydrated in the morning with this. Very awesome product, I highly recommend!

Review for ULTA Makeup Setting Spray - 1 month, 1 week ago

Review for: ULTA Makeup Setting Spray more...
I received this setting spray as a gift in a cosmetic bag full of goodies from Ulta. I was in need of a setting spray, so my order came just in time! I use this to dampen my brush to make my eye shadow pop, and also all over the face to set my makeup. For the price I think this product is decent. It's not bad, just not everything I want in a setting spray.

Review for Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara, Black Organics 1063 - 1 month, 1 week ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
My local drugstore was running a sale on this mascara, (40% off) and I had a three dollar coupon! I only paid two dollars for it, and honestly it's not even worth two dollars. The brush is plastic, which normally wouldn't bother me, but the way this brush is I kept stabbing myself in the eye a lot. Application, besides getting stabbed was easy, but where is the mascara? This did absolutely nothing for my eyelashes, even with applying a few coats. Thankfully I wasn't going out that day when I decided to test this, because my eyes were not up to their full potential. This is dud, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you just want a black tint and nothing else.

Review for LORAC 4-pc. California Dreaming PRO Liquid Lipstick Set, Multicolor - 1 month, 1 week ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
I picked this set up at Kohl's on clearance for thirteen dollars and I'm really glad I did. The color Plum Brown is this beautiful shade of brown that sends you back to the 90's. Which, is clearly my favorite and it has become a staple in many of my looks. These liquid lips are stunning, pigmented, smell amazing and were super affordable even before the discount. I had never tried any of Lorac's liquid lips before, but I'm so glad I bit the bullet.

Review for NYX Slip Tease Full Color Lip Oil - 1 month, 1 week ago

Review for: Red Queen more...
I was a little skeptical of this product being that it stated it was a lip oil that was going to be matte. I should have known Nyx would kill it because I enjoy most of their lip products. I picked up the color Red Queen, which is a gorgeous true red. This lip oil did take a few minutes to dry down, but when it did I was left with a beautiful shade of red that I will keep coming back to. It's super pigmented, affordable and comes in many gorgeous shades. I suggest giving these a try if you enjoy a hydrating matte lip oil, that's rich in pigment.

Review for: 03 RIVETING RED more...
This is hands down one of my top five favorite liquid matte lipsticks EVER. I discovered these at Walgreens' last year around Halloween, and even went back to purchase a back up of the product! Priced at $4.99 you get a super pigmented. metallic red lipstick that stays put all damn day. I am praying that Jordana brings these back out for Halloween this year, but I have yet to find it :(  My only gripe is that the wand isn't long enough to reach the product at the bottom.

Review for BAD HABIT Aphrodite 18 Color Eyeshadow Collection - 1 month, 1 week ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
About a year ago I discovered Hush, an online store with a ton of eye-shadow palette dupes! I did a little research, and found that Bad Habit was the favorite of the brands on the website. My friend, having purchased products from them before also advised me to download the app because they give you free shipping! I settled on the Aphrodite Palette which comes with 18 shades varying in deeply saturated mattes, richly textured metallics, and uniquely pressed pearls. I was impressed by the packaging, and the sturdiness of the palette. This palette had a lot of thought go into it, duping one of Huda Beauty's popular Rose Gold Palette. I honestly wasn't going to fork over the cash for the high-end brand, but couldn't get over the shades. That's where Bad Habit comes in. Swatching these shades had me happy I bought this, the mattes were what really had me amazed. They're creamy, and the blendability of the eye shadow is impeccable! I highly recommend giving this palette and the entire brand a chance because they make quality eye shadow.

Review for Rimmel London Magnif'Eyes Eye Shadow Palette - 1 month, 1 week ago

Review for: Spice Edition more...
With my rather obsessive nature about makeup, especially new, on trend products I immediately had to purchase Rimmel's Spice Palette. Over the years I have noticed, while on the hunt for good makeup that the drugstore has really stepped up to the plate. In quality, affordability and being on trend; I believe they're starting to get what the consumer wants. A few weeks ago I made a trip to my local Walgreens' and let me just say they really are trying to be the face of beauty! They have trained Beauty Consultants, and testers for the customer to try! Unfortunately, they did not have any for the Rimmel. Yet, what they lacked in testers they made up for in coupons, because I only paid $4.39 for the Spice Palette! Arriving home I immediately swatched the shadows, and was shook. They felt so nice to the touch, and were super pigmented! Never missing an opportunity to try on something new, I cleaned my face and headed to my vanity. Beauty Gurus have been raving about how this is the perfect dupe for Urban Decay's Naked Heat palette, so I went in with some pretty high expectations. Blending came effortless with these shades, and the look I ended up with was so stunning. The only gripe out of me is the metallic shades could be better, but that's what setting spray is for, right?
