Review for: Tide PODS Spring Meadow Scent Laundry Detergent 62 ct Tub more...
Pods are such a great little innovation. I wish these had been available in my college years -- I wouldn't have had to lug around the big jug of liquid detergent to ground-floor laundry machines! It doesn't seem like pouring liquid into the tray of my front-loading washing machine is all that taxing, BUT it is much quicker and no thought involved to toss the pod in, no measuring required. I don't feel like the Spring Meadow scent sticks around for very long -- I'm lucky to even catch a whiff when I open a just-finished dryer door. This also happens with Gain pods, so if I want super-scented laundry, I use Method liquid.
Coppertone Water Babies sunscreen lotion is the brand my mother would buy for us all through childhood. I always buy the pink bottle out of habit, but I don't have many demands for sunscreen. This is something I only wear at the beach/pool, so I am not concerned about it working with makeup or anything like that. I don't burn when wearing it, it hasn't stained a coverup or towel like some other brands . . . good basic sunscreen.
I am on my second full-size bottle of the Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion. Honestly, I don't like the practice of calling astringent/toners a Lotion, because as someone who buys most of my beauty/skincare products online, sight unseen, I often find this confusing. That is neither here nor there, and nothing against Clinique specifically, as tons of brands do this now. I am 36 but still fight breakouts like a teenager, and mostly use this to start with a fresh slate before I put on my night creams and serums. I am always careful to shake the bottle so that the little amount of powder on the bottom is sufficiently swirled, but honestly I can't tell much of a difference (even when using it in the day instead of at night) this makes to the skin. The bottle is nice to use -- with the large cap that is easy to grasp and twist -- and it's a relatively cheap basic product that I regularly use.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream is one of four eye creams in my everyday rotation. The other three are Chanel Le Lift, Amore Pacific Moisture Bound, and Dior Hydra Life Sorbet. I have so many because between these four I cannot pick one that I love more than the others. I think grouping this in with the others is pretty good company -- I do not yet need a miracle cream and have just started to be concerned with the beginnings of lines due to squinting and smiling. The scent of this eye cream is very comforting to me, and it works well under makeup. The packaging is nice to hold, easy to open (UNlike the AmorePacific Moisture Bound container).
Love, love, LOVE the Kiehl's Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter. I am flighty with a ton of beauty products -- by the time I'm halfway through a container, I tend to lose interest and want to try something else -- but this tub of body butter keeps me coming back for more. The texture seems light and fluffy in the tub, but once on your skin, works like a much heavier butter would. One application a day is all I ever need, and in winter, my hands don't feel dry and crackly like they did with Soap & Glory butters, and I'm not oily for a long time like The Body Shop butters tend to do. The yellow tub is cheery, the yellow buttery whip doesn't stain clothes or add color to your skin, AND it smells like a delicious cake. The scent is not overwhelming or heavy . . . it's just right.
Review for: Method Kitchen Lemongrass Hand Wash 18 oz more...
I like lemon scented products (cleaning/hand/home fragrance, etc) because they make my house feel bright and clean. When I first saw this on the shelf, it was meant to be in my shopping cart. The Method packaging is attractive as usual, the bright lemony yellow color cheers me up, and as promised, it does combat food prep hands. I always have a back-up bottle waiting in my pantry.
I use liquid body wash for bathing when I'm home, but tend to use my husband's bar of Irish Spring whenever we travel -- be it a weeklong vacation or a weekend visit to the in-laws. Mostly I think a bar of soap is . . . a bar of soap, not much to get excited about. But, I like the brisk scent it has, and I associate the scent with my husband, so it's a win-win.
I have suffered with problem skin since I was 10 years old. Not full-blown acne, but lots of deep cystic spots, and no face wash or moisturizer could ever improve my skin. I had run the gamut of drugstore products and was even disappointed with dermatologist-prescribed treatments. I was wary of Proactiv's promises, but a vending machine was installed in our mall and my husband bought a beginner's kit. I have been using the renewing cleanser since 2011, and I've learned that I can do without the toner or moisturizer, and this cleanser can still keep a much better visage than I ever had before. I subtract one star b/c I don't like their subscription system (have had friends experience too much hassle in trying to cancel), and I wish I could make a one-time purchase online as needed without having to go to the mall vending machine.
