I'm a make-up artist and hairstylist and own an on-location bridal beauty business. In additon to being a business owner, I'm also a busy mom to my adorable 7 year old son. I'm a self admitted product junkie, and I'm always trying new things. I love reading and writing reviews! Let's connect! <3
I purchased this from Sephora on a whim, I was looking for something quick to put on during the day just to even out my skintone. I’m so impressed! First, the packaging is GORGEOUS, it’s comparable to super high end packaging, the compact is very glamorous white and silver and heavy with a huge mirror. I got #23 and it’s one of the most perfect matches I’ve had in a while (I’m like a MAC NC20/25). It’s slightly golden toned but not super yellow and definitely no pink tones. As a foundation junkie and makeup artist, I’ve tried numerous products and I’m so satisfied with this formula! It goes on super thin and hides a lot of pores and texture, evens out the skintone and can be built up for more coverage. It never looks heavy or cake-y. I have combination skin so I do set this with a little bit of powder on some days or when I know I’ll be running around a lot, but I’ve also worn it without powder and it stayed for several hours. This is meant to be a satin finish or slightly glowy so I wouldn’t recommend for someone super oily or someone who likes a completely matte look. I’d recommend this for anyone with already nice skin who just wants to even it out, people with slight uneven skintone, moms with very little time to get ready, mature skin, dry skin and combination skin! Spf 50 is an added bonus!
I really love this highlighter. Usually I’m a high end product junkie and this seems like a higher priced product than it is (it’s only like $6!). This is a very smooth powder and adds a subtle highlight that can also be built up into a pretty dramatic highlight. I would say this would be best only on light/medium skin tones. For very deep tones it would probably be too light, and for very pale skin it would most likely be too dark because it does have a slightly beige/golden hue to it. For my MAC NC25 skin tone this is perfection. I will absolutely repurchase this.
I really enjoy using this bubble bath for my son. I like that it doesn’t have any harmful ingredients, and it’s easy to find at Target. It foamed nicely and created a lot of bubbles! I will buy it again!
I feel like I may be in the minority but I really disliked these. I tried Candy Man and Dose of Cocoa. The bottles are frosted so it’s very hard to see the color in the store without swatching it. Candy man seemed like it would be a pretty, neutral cool pink but on my lips it was a horrible almost grey purple pink. Dose of Cocoa was so nude that it was literally the same shade as my skin (NC20). I can’t imagine either of these shades looking nice on any skin tone to be honest. I also hated how these felt on, gummy and sticky and my lips stick together like glue when they touched. It never dried down. I appreciate a long wear product but this was impossible to get off even with remover and by the time I did get it off, my lips were raw. I wouldn’t recommend. Giving it two stars for the cute packaging and delicious scent. Plus maybe someone who could deal with the texture might like these for their long wearing claim.
This is one of the best primers I have used. Disclaimer - I’m not a huge fan of primers, especially not silicone feeling ones. This one definitely went on with a silicone slick feel and that worried me because I’m slightly oily and it felt as if it would only make me oilier. However, as the day went on, my skin felt and looked amazing, not oily and not dry, just balanced. My foundation and concealer seemed to stay on way longer and didn’t clump, crease or look patchy. I love that this contains a spf and has a waterproof claim (which I haven’t honestly tested yet because summer is over). This seemed to smooth slightly but it isn’t completely pore smoothing if that is what you’re in the market for. As a professional makeup artist I have to say that Hourglass is one of my favorite brands. The formulas are high quality and the packaging is elegant and beautiful. The primer is a bit on the pricy side but I do think it’s worth every penny .
Pure and simple this is the only brow gel that keeps my brows in place all day. It’s a little pricey for a clear brow gel but my brows are the main part of my look so to me it’s worth it. I will purchase it again and again!
I’ve been loving this B.B. Creme all summer! The thing I love most is that it’s free of harmful chemicals so I feel good about using it on my skin daily. I would say this is great for any skin type except oily because it’s pretty glowy. I like to apply a pea sized amount and buff it in with a buffing brush. It is more of a medium coverage product and looks very natural on with a slight glow.
These are literally the ONLY face wipe that I can use on my sensitive, breakout prone skin. I have bought these so many times and make sure to always have a pack on hand. I love that they remove all of my makeup including my hard to remove mascara. They never make my skin red, sting, or breakout. I use these every night to remove my makeup and follow up with a foaming cleanser to double cleanse.
