I am in my early 20's and surround myself with products I love! I am always interested in trying out the latest beauty products in skincare, haircare, and cosmetics. I also spend my time as a graphic designer, so tech items are a big deal for me. In the evenings you'll find me on xbox live as a video game nerd.
I think it is important to share what you love about products with others out there, and share your experience.
I really wanted to love this sponge, but after 2 months of continuous use I can say it is rather mediocre. The sponge itself is very small and dense. It takes a longer time than most beauty sponges to bounce up when saturated. It also had a strange chemical-like smell and cream colored liquid leaving the product the first few times I used it. Because the sponge is so dense it absorbs more of my foundation, than what is actually applied to my skin. The areas where the sponge soaks of products become hard and very hard to clean. Even with regular cleansing the sponge holds onto spots of foundation and transfer these hard clumps onto your skin. This happened and I had not realized until later when going out and noticed stubborn chunks of foundation around my face. The sponge not only is hard to clean and work with, but is not very durable either. After my fourth use my nail punctured through the sponge, leaving a rip which only grew larger with use. I wasn’t too aggressive with the sponge either, it simply did not hold up over time. I also tried using different weights when bouncing my foundation across my skin, and this did not change the application much. Compared to the original Beauty Blender or the Real Techniques brand, this sponge would be the last I would grab for. That being said it preformed a bit better than the off brand ones you can find at TjMaxx that are on the more dense and product absorbing side. The only reason I gave this sponge two stars was the fact that it applies setting powder under the eyes quite nicely. I believe in giving credit where it is due. After using even heavy under eye concealer, setting this area with translucent powder with this beauty sponge worked really nicely for a smooth and flawless finish. That being said I would not gravitate towards using this sponge for everyday makeup application as the former two sponges mentioned will give you the same stellar setting powder AND foundation application.
I have been on Influenster for many years now and it is by far my most favorite product review site. Influenster is more than just a product review site tho, it is a community of people sharing products they love. I am so thankful to have received so many boxes over the years of awesome products to test out, and the opportunity to share my honest experiences. Thank you!
This is a great cc cream if you are looking for an easy product to apply in the morning if you are limited on time but want to look a little more put together. The cream isn’t too heavy or too light and glides over the skin very nicely. I have combination oil to dry skin and I had no issues with the formula clumping or wearing oddly throughout the day. I do suggest if you are oily to set the cream with a light powder to avoid buildup over time if you are wearing it for more than a few hours. A little goes a long way with this stuff so the quantity you receive will last a long time. This is definitely not full coverage, so if you have dark skin scarring you want to coverup I would suggest paring the cream with a concealer over top those areas. However I have naturally very red cheeks, and with one layer this completely even outs my skin tone.

I have tried numerous lip scrubs in the past by many different brands, but was not able to find my go to until the Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub. My favorite flavor is “French Toast”. The smell is what sold me honestly, as it perfectly captures the scent of warm cinnamon and syrup. Not only does it smell incredible, but it’s actually yummy and is okay to lick your finger after application (which I totally did). The sugar crystal formulation isn’t too harsh, but will scrub away any undesirable flakes leaving soft plump lips. I use this every time to prep my lips before applying JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS Velour Liquid Lipstick as it helps to create a perfect canvas. Even if I don’t plan on wearing any makeup that day, it is a little step I can add in that makes my mornings a little more luxurious. Lastly the packaging is crafted beautifully and the amount of scrub you received is very generous for the cost.
I love Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frost - Ice Cold! It is one of the first highlighters that I have hit pan on. The amount of product you receive for the cost is a bargain! The packaging is beautifully designed and very sturdy, not to mention the iconic Jeffree Star Cosmetics stamping of the product. The formula glides on the skin in a very flattering way accentuating your cheekbones, nose, brow bone, and upper lip with a gorgeous glow. I have texture to my skin and sometimes products will cling to these areas and highlight my flaws, this is not one of those products! It is extremely wearable after one swipe across your skin, and buildable for a blinding effect if desired. I am very pale and find it difficult to find a shade that actually shows up on my skin tone and suits my complexion. Skin Frost in Ice Cold is the perfect shade for any of my fair skinned friends out there looking for a little glow.
My most favorite shade is the JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS Velour Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Calabasas”. I start out by prepping my lips with a good lip scrub and quick dry lip balm for a nice base. Then I will use a lip liner similar to the shade of lipstick, my favorite is the lip liner in the matching “Calabasas” shade by Jeffree Star Cosmetics. After outlining my top and bottom lips I will carefully glide the Velour Liquid Lipstick over in one even layer. I would avoid going over one spot multiple times while the product is still wet as it tends to finish a bit more patchy this way. One coat is all that is needed for a fully opaque look, due to the highly pigmented formulation. After letting the lipstick dry down for a couple of moments, avoiding any extreme facial expressions, and you’ll be ready to take on the day with a gorgeous lip look! One last thing to note is the packaging and product quantity. The lipstick packaging is gorgeous and so thoughtful, but also sturdy and made very well. The amount of product you get for the cost of $18 is such a good deal, as the product again is very pigmented and will last you awhile before needing to repurchase (which you will want to).
Pro Tip: No need to base your lips with concealer or foundation, this can cause excess drying or cracking. I have found going in with exfoliated and hydrated lips is the best base for optimal application.
This one one of my most beloved liquid lipstick and shade by Colourpop. I love the formula, for it isn’t drying on the lips and doesn’t add any unwanted lines. The consistency is creamy and glides over lips for an easy application. I love the packaging as well, it is very sturdy and the doe foot applicator wand is soft and holds product well. This shade is a gorgeous plum and very wearable for all skin types. I have gone through two entire tubes now and will buy another when my current tube runs out.
I love Sigma’s brushes, and this one is a makeup kit must have! This is one of my favorite types of brushes to apply highlighter with. The shape of the brush allows you to easily glide the product over the curves of your cheekbone, brow bone, and the tip of the nose. I wish the bristles weren’t so light in color and get quite dirty depending on the shade of highlighter product being used, besides that a great addition to any brush collection.
This may works great for cleaning makeup brushes! I use either Dawn dish soap or Jonsons baby soap with warm water and they are like brand new! The shape of the cleansing mat is also perfect for holding while washing brushes and makes the process so much easier:
