Review for Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection - 3 weeks, 4 days ago

Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
I can't believe I'm only just now getting to this review. As we all know by now, I'm a certified Too Faced junkie. Natural Eye is one of my all-time eye-shadow palettes and definitely ride-or-die status. Not only are the shadows pigmented and, you guessed it, natural in appearance, they are long lasting and have basically no fall-out. Too Faced is known for their quirky packaging and the cheeky descriptions of products/colour titles, but honestly?

None of that compares to the product itself. In the case of their shadows, they are buttery smooth and packed with some serious pigment punch. The mattes show up beautifully and don't appear chalky/displaced; the shimmers look stunning even on eyelids that have aged (my mom, for example, is in her 50s and rocks this palette) and no review can do it justice.

This is the perfect day-to-night palette. For work, you can go full on natural and simple but then kick it up afterwards for a night out. It's so versatile you can go hard with a smoky look or add a bit of shimmer to hang onto a more subdued option.
I received this product complimentary on behalf of BUMBLE AND BUMBLE and INFLUENSTER in exchange for an honest review. This does not effect my opinion in any shape or form.

I'll be honest--I'm on a hiatus from dying my hair.

Nearly a decade of doing so (quite often: I know, shame on me) really messed with my hair's natural thickness/volume. Which is why when I saw this, I was beyond stoked to give it a go. This is not my first Bumble and Bumble product but it is certainly one of my most impressive ones and the product I reach for most.

Something like magic in a bottle. That's all I can call it. It adds instant volume without making my hair look a bit outrageous and just gives it some serious life. I love that it doesn't leave anything behind in my hair and doesn't leave it feeling like I have a ton of product in it. I'll definitely be buying this frequently from here on out.

There is a bit of a scent to it that many may not appreciate but for me... the smell is very pleasant and not at all overwhelming like other products are.

Overall, I love this spray and would recommend it to anyone who has hair that is thin or thinning.

Review for Revenge - 1 month, 4 weeks ago
The first season of Revenge was every bit iconic as a primetime soap should be! I am not going to lie: it lost its steam somewhere in season two but it was still a delight.

Revenge was not serious business, unless you count the path to revenge as such. In order to like the show, you cannot look at its flaws or cheesines. I repeat: it is not serious.

Instead, the show relied on dishy soap opera archetypes and writing. Actors portrayed their variety of characters in the same manner. It was smart, stylish and full of fun. You so rarely see a 'villain' take the lead in a series but Revenge has the biggest one. What makes it easy to cheer her on is that every last person is morally gray--I love the complexities of each of them.

Overall, if one is a fan of Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars it is likely they will devour this series and its campiness.

(Lets take a moment to appreciate Emily/Amanda and her BFF Nolan.)
Review for: Rebel Rose, Pink Really Hard
I was pleasantly surprised by the range of Wet n Wild's MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick! The formula is quite drying but for the price, I'd say it is something you can't pass up if you're looking for a cheap alternative to high-end liquid lipsticks.

I am impressed by the two colours I have purchased--Pink Really Hard and Rebel Rose, but they do have their flaws. I'll get to that in a minute--beyond the dry quality the product holds. I find that Pink Really Hard is my personal favourite of the two, as it's just a sweet shade of pink that always gets me some compliments.

The colours are gorgeous and rich without being overwhelming, but the packaging is kind of awful. I can't keep Pink Really Hard closed properly because the cap is broken. So, do be careful when it comes to their packaging. As for Rebel Rose, it's a beautiful shade that reminds me of Queen Bee from Too Faced and Lumiere 2 from Colourpop--it's not an identical dupe, but I can definitely see why I reached for it.

My problem with Rebel Rose in particular is that it's even more drying than Pink Really Hard and quite streaky. The longer you wear it, the more visible it is that you need to do a touch up.

Overall, they're pretty solid but certainly not the best liquid lips I have tried in recent months.
Review for Urban Decay Vice Lipstick - 2 months ago
Review for: Brat (warm baby pink), Disobedient (medium pink cream), Walk Of Shame (pale nude-pink - sheer shimmer), Trance (nude-mauve shimmer), Violate (dusty purple cream w/pink undertone), Weirdo (pale baby pink cream), Firebird (deep fuchsia cream), Rapture (dusty rose), Ravenswood (dusty rose cream w/red undertone), Unicorn (pale peachy nude), Wrong Number (soft neutral pink), Backtalk (mauve-nude pink)
My name is Jessica and I have an Urban Decay lipstick obsession. I'm a literal addict about it and it's gotten so bad that I'm pretty much picking up a new tube every check. Which is, I'm sure, not a good sign and why I'm pretty much living on coffee and fruits.

That's neither here or there--the point is, drum-roll please, the Vice Lipstick formula and line-up is INCREDIBLE. Beyond incredible, really. It's been so long since I've been so highly obsessed with a standard lipstick but there are so many great things about the UD line.

Number one: the product is consistently good quality and packs a serious punch. Seriously, there's a colour for every occasion and skin tone. The staying quality is really great for a non-liquid lip and I love that! The only flaw in the formula is the products smell (ugh) but it's easy to look over because the lipstick is THAT good. Like... Urban Decay did that (again), kids.

My personal favourite is a tie between Firebird and Backtalk, with a runner up of Rapture and Trance. There's so much to say about the quality but I'll sum it up: great colour, easy to apply, non-drying formula and pretty lasting! Definitely worth the $18. I can't wait to splurge on some more.
Review for: Lover (raspberry)
I'm so consistently impressed with Buxom products that I wish I would have begun using them sooner. From their blushes (oh, I miss them so!) and their lip glosses, I have yet to be disappointed by their lines. Lover was an impulse buy but because I had some points stacked up and I was curious enough to try their Wildly Whipped Lightweight Liquid Lipstick formula, I picked it up in a heartbeat.

What I noticed straightaway was how soft and--you guessed it--creamy the product was upon application. I love how seamlessly it applied to my lips--there was no streaking and quite a bit of coverage. Best of all, the colour is beyond stunning. When they say 'raspberry' they aren't playing around. It's a good old fashioned berry that is pigmented and oh-so-striking.

I am in love with the shade and formula application but there was a massive flaw in the product. It doesn't stay in place for very long which can be frustrating. But if you are a Buxom fan and don't find yourself negative about reapplying the colour at least once during the day, you're going to love this!

Review for: Precious Petals
OH MY GOD, you guys Wet N Wild is really not playing around with their products! I'm completely obsessed with their MegaGlo Highlighting Powder because they are, hands down, the BEST drugstore highlights on the market. And I'm so stoked that they are bringing around more colours because--as much as I love Precious Petals--it can look a bit too dark on my skin even with a crap ton of blending.

As for the product; it gives you a serious glow. We're talking high end quality highlights that you just can't beat the price on. Not only this, the pigmentation is incredibly and is pretty easy to blend out. You can build onto it. You can blend out. It's a great starter product for those of us only just now getting into highlighting.

I love that it's not overly sparkly and the texture is buttery smooth. When I say that it's high quality, I mean that it's high quality. You could literally not tell that it was from the drugstore! I'm so impressed and would gladly buy again--especially with the new shades.
Review for MAC Cosmetics Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour - 2 months ago
Review for: Mango Mango
MAC is one of my favourite lipstick brands and my first big brand love. I'm pretty skeptical about matte liquid lipsticks these days but as it is MAC, I decided to pick up a tube of Mango Mango to spice things up. I very rarely skip over to orange/peach/salmon territory and this was quite a square up moment for me.

That being said--I love the formula of the Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour! It's far better than I expected/heard. It applies in a creamy manner and doesn't dry out my lips as badly as other liquid lipsticks. Plus, the pigmentation is INCREDIBLE. I'm not even joking--I've always known MAC provides some serious kick when it comes to lip colours but this one is just stunning.

I will say that I'm not overly impressed by the staying power. I've had worse! But, it still could be better. I'm not opposed to reapplying product during the day but it would be nice if you didn't have to, you know? Especially for $21 worth of product.

Still, I love the way it feels and the selection of colours so I will definitely be checking out more of the line next pay! I'm pretty impressed.
Review for Starbucks Coffee Dark Roast - 2 months ago

This is one of my favourites from Starbucks. Entirely because I love the stronger taste and the kick that it has--but it is certainly not for everyone. It's only affordable when you purchase the big bag at Costco or other stores which offer larger bags; it lasts longer, is a better deal and, in my opinion, tastes fresher.

If you are looking for strength in flavor and that extra kick in the a** in the morning, this is for you.

Review for: Nude Candy 19, Cute Pink 29, Nude Kiss 22
I really tried to give these glosses a chance but they so rarely worked out for me. The packaging is very bad (has anyone else had a problem with the product leaking out?) but entirely standard for its price range. I think a couple of mine were--perhaps--handled poorly at Target.

I loved the colours on me (especially the sheer but sweet pinky shade: Cute Pink, I believe is the name) but they lasted even less than any gloss I own.

They reminded me of two things: Clinique's lipgloss packaging from way back when (unless it's still the same) and those cute lipglosses we all loved growing up. Still, it wasn't enough to sell me on the product.
