I love a good, affordable sheet mask so when I saw Garnier had their own line of them I was more than happy to give them a try. Even though my skin is oily, I picked up the moisture mask because it never hurts to have your face feel fresh and awake. At first I was annoyed (which happens often with sheets) that the fit was so poor/large. But then I realized I could hook me ears in and then it fit much better. I immediately could tell this mask had ALOT of product on it. Which can be a little messy and overpowering. So after putting on the mask I found by giving a couple rub-in rounds really helped with it feeling too wet. I waited the usual 15-20 minutes and then removed it. The mask left quite a bit of residue, so I just massaged that into my face and neck and then went to bed. I didn't immediately notice a change in my skin other than feeling like I had just pressed a lot of product into it. But when I applied my makeup the next day my skin/pores looked really good. A bit smoother and brighter. I am not sure if I can thank the mask for that or I was just having a good makeup day, but I plan on trying another one of these to find out.
This mascara is hands down one of my top 3 mascaras of all-time. Not only is it affordable it is 10x better than most high end mascaras I have tried. The thin, comb like brush really lengthens and coats the lashes giving them a beautiful long, full finish. I have lost count of how many tubes I have gone through over the years, but it is a staple in my beauty routine for both myself and clients.
I received two bottles of this free for testing purposes through Infleunster and was thrilled that I was included in a box as luxurious as Armani. I think I have tried every foundation under the sun, but somehow had never used an Armani one (shame on me!). I love a good full coverage foundation and I always have high expectations when it comes to luxury brands. I will admit a part of me went into this hoping I wouldn't like it, because of it's $64 price tag and knowing if I did-I would definitely repurchase. I ended up mixing the two shades I was sent (one was too light) and have now tried it with an Artis brush, a foundation buffing brush, and a beauty blender. (For me, I like the Artis first and then some pouncing with the BB.) I used it with my usual primers and I gotta say-I think I'm in love. First of all I will say I do have to build this a tiny bit in my cheek area to get to FULL coverage, but for me that's not an issue. The feel of this formula is so light and comfortable I was concerned it wasn't going to really cover my skin, but it does so beautifully. While the finish is matte it still looks like velvety, fresh skin. There's nothing heavy or cakey here. I wore this 10+ hours in southern humidity and it did not budge, I'm talking zero oil or shine. For me that is basically a cosmetic miracle. I have heard lots of rave reviews about Armani's Luminious Silk, but because it's not full coverage I was never persuaded to purchase it. Now thanks to the brand and Influenster I have found a new love and my skin could not be happier.
I have tried many of the Dazzleglasses over the years, and while I have enjoyed all of them this shade is my new love. It is the perfect shade of a nudey/pinky-peach with beautiful little specs of iridescent (almost gold toned) sparkle. This looks stunning over nudes of all lightness and darkness.
This is most over hyped foundations I have probably ever tried. Thankfully I got a few samples of this to try out rather than dropping that hefty price tag. After seeing the internet explode about this I thought for sure I would fall in love with it. Wrong. I know this isn't suppose to be super full coverage, but it is down right sheer. Even after building it still looked like I had barely anything on. If you have flawless skin and like a light coverage maybe you will like this, but I am certainly glad I didn't spend a dime on it.
Being a freelance makeup artist and beauty lover in general I have no idea how I have never purchased an Estee Lauder lipsick before now. I saw all the beautiful shades on display at a local counter, loved the swatches and decided to give one a go. I chose the shade 'Desirable' which is a peachy-pink nude (more on the rosy side). The formula is super creamy, comfortable to wear, easy to apply, and had good staying power at 2-4 hours with little transfer. Now that I have tried these out I am looking forward to purchasing more shades.
ABH has always been one of my favorite makeup brands. But 80% of the products I have purchased over the last year have been less than spectacular. I do love their liquid lipsticks and glosses so I had high hopes for an actual lipstick-finally. The shade range is wide and very pretty, but I will warn you the swatches online verses in person are vastly different on some of these. I bought a few of the nudes and I am torn about these. On one hand I love the sleek packaging and colors but the formula itself is not so good. I realize these are matte but the drag on these is insane. You literally have to press and pull hard to get these to glide on (some shades are worse than others). They are so dry they are difficult to apply. Once on, the formula feels so dry and hardening that your lips feel like they might crack at any time. These also have a pretty bad transfer and don't wear long on the lips. I know the brand has been having some product issues of late, so I am hoping they reformulate these. They have potential but I only ended up keeping one of them because they are just too much work.
Review for: BECCA Liquid Crystal Glow Gloss Champagne Dream x Bellini 0.17 oz/ 5 g
I have been on a major lip gloss kick lately so of course I couldn't resist these. I chose the champagne Bellini shade as I am a lover of nudes. This formula gives the lips a beautiful sparkly appearance without feeling goopy or thick. You can feel the chucks of glitter every now and then, but that personally doesn't bother me. Becca is always expanding their range of products and getting better all the time. These little beauties are a fantastic addition to the brand.
I am very picky when it comes to lip pencils, as I am often left underwhelmed. The Charlotte Tilbury pencils are my holy grail favorite. "Pillow Talk' and 'Iconic Nude' are staples for me. One gives a warmer natural toned nude, while the other is more on the pink nude side. 2 different looks that are both always beautiful on the lips. Usually with pencils that have to be sharpened I find them very dry and hard to use, but the CT formula is creamy and smooth with exceptional pigmentation. They last for hours and layer beautifully.
I kept hearing rave reviews about this highlighter and noticed it was always sold out on Sephora. So I bought into the hype I ordered the more champagne hued shade. First of all the biggest pro to this product is it's packaging. Both the outside and the inside are just darling. Designed with a pretty little star print, I first swatched this on my arm and was very hopeful as it left a pretty, glimmering glow. Then I tried it with a brush on my face and...nothing. Another layer...nothing. Two heavy layers and all I could see was the faintest of sheens. I know that just like certain eyeshadows that only look good with a finger, a highlighter sometimes just does not deliver with a brush. For the price and hoopla I expected this to be blinding. The pigmentation just isn't there, and sadly the packaging isn't enough to save it. I will be returning this item.
