Review for Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette - 1 week, 4 days ago

I bought the first batch of this palette when Morphe first released it on their website. Now that Ulta has it I have to admit I am a bit annoyed about the revamped packaging. That being said, this is easily one of the best palettes of the year for me. People like to rag on Morphe because of the influencer codes and all that jazz, but the quality IS great. I have several Morplhe palettes that I love, but this little beauty didn't take long to become my all-time favorite. This collection of shadows has everything any makeup lover would ever need to create a variety of looks from neutral, to smoky, to bold and vibrant. The price is a steal and all the shadows perform beautifully.

Review for Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette Smokey - 1 week, 4 days ago

As controversial as they are, I am personally a big fan of Huda shadows. So when I saw she was putting out these perfect compact size palettes I knew I wanted to try them out. I went for the Smoky palette because it looked the most different than what I already have by the brand. The formulas are all very similar to the mattes and shimmers from her previous palettes. The thing with Huda shadows is you have to know how to work with them, once you do you will see they perform beautifully. The mini size of this is great for makeup artists to throw in their kit. It doesn't take up much room and it creates several wearable looks in one. The $27 price point is more than reasonable for the amount of shadows you get as well as the quality. Now I find myself wanting the mauve and warm tones palettes as well!

Review for Maybelline Gigi Hadid Lip Liner - 1 month ago

Review for: McCall
I will admit I wasn't too excited for the Gigi collection once I realized Maybelline had majorly increased their prices simply because her name was on the products. But when I tried out this liner in particular in store, I immediately loved it. It's creamy and the most perfect shade of nude. I wasn't blown away by anything else I tried but I do really like the lip products. Which is no surprise as I am a fan of the brand's lipsticks in general. If you are gonna nab anything from this collection i would definitely go for the lippie items.

Review for Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte Liquid Lipstick - Maneater (red w/ red pearl) - Only at ULTA - 1 month ago

I normally don't splurge on lipstick shades that I know I won't wear on a daily basis, but when I saw this stunning shade online I knew I had to check it out in person. With the holidays in full swing, I have been wanting a new red lipstick, but one that offers a little something extra. The metallic finish on this is absolutely stunning. It adds so much dimension to your lips. The red is a very classic shade with blue undertones. It is bright, but it the metallic shift definitely tones it down a bit. I tried it on before going into a movie and sadly it did not last threw some popcorn snacking and drinking, and did leave a slight stain around the edges of my lips. But if you don't mind having to reapply throughout the day/night, then this own't be an issue. For $24 bucks I probably won't be wearing this a ton but it is PERFECT for the Christmas season and one I will for sure be reserving for holiday events.

Review for Garnier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray - 1 month, 1 week ago

I received this in a Voxbox that was geared for Halloween going by the packaging, s. I was a bit shocked to find glossing shine spray and a flat iron product inside. Neither of those have anything to do with Halloween (to me) so it was definitely the most lackluster box I have gotten so far. I don't use a flat iron ever, so I can't review that one, but I did try the shine gloss. I have never been blown away by Garnier products and this one didn't change matters.  The product smells great like most Garnier items, but I didn't notice any extra shine to my hair. I'm glad this is something I was sent to try verses something I wasted my money on.

Review for Huda Beauty Buff Blend Brush - 1 month, 2 weeks ago

I really like this brush, but it took me only one use to figure out that it must be used a certain way for good results. It is not a brush that is meant for circular motions or strokes. If you do either of those you will get a lot of movement and streaking. For a flawless finish you must use a tiny bit of product at a time and stipple it into the skin. Once you do that you immediately like this brush 100x more. I like the packaging and white bristles, but as to be expected it looks dirty after only one use.  The price is fair for a foundation brush, but really should have been more around $15.

Review for: 170
I wanted to love this foundation because I am a Rihanna fan and the collection is so stunning. I love the simple, chic packaging. To spite it's 40 shade color range I had a hard time finding a shade that was an exact match for me, so I ended up with one that's a tad too light. I knew this was branded as 'medium' coverage, but like with most I assumed I could build it up. Even after two applications I still wasn't blown away with the coverage or finish. The consistency was just off to me. I have oily skin and I didn't find it did much to help that. While I do love the Fenty gloss and highligters, this foundation is a pass for me. The good news is, if you love it it has a very reasonable price tag for a high end foundation.

Review for: Macadamia
After trying what feels like every full coverage foundation under the sun recently I do believe I have found my favorite of 2017. This foundation is exactly what I need and expect from a full coverage formula. The packaging is simple, glass bottle with kind of a zebra print lid. The formula is a light/creamy consistency and oxidizes only slightly. This formula goes on like a dream. I am a brush girl myself but I tried it with a Beauty Blender as well and it looked flawless both ways. It has no fragrance (thank heavens), is long-wearing, and didn't seem to accentuate my pores or break apart on my t-zone. I had never tried a LM foundation before and honestly was shocked at the results. The price is fair considering what a top-notch result you get. Will definitely be adding this to my top 5 faves.

Review for: Custard 220N
I had been highly anticipating this foundation. I have been very impressed with Huda's products so far (sans those uncomfortable, heavy banded lashes) and I am a sucker for a good full coverage formula. I got this in last week and immediately had to try it. I will tell you my first time using it was a disaster. It went on streaky (I bought the accompanying brush, but passed on the Huda primer), kept moving around, looked crazy light on my skin, and did work well with concealer. On top of that I HATE the old lady floral smell this product has. It is useless and overpowering. I also noticed maybe 30 min after the paleness that seemed to appear when I first applied it had oxidized at least 2 shades darker. It's a good thing I didn't go a shade up like I usually do. The formula is very yellow toned, so if you don't like that, you won't be a fan.

Now on my second try I had much better luck. I found if I dipped the brush into a pump of product on my hand and stippled it in, I got much better results. The stippling motion made it go on much smoother and did in fact give it an airbrushed look. I tried concealer again and this time rather than using a Beauty Blender I used an Artis brush to blend it in under my eyes. This again worked 10x better. This product and the BB do not work well together on me. I have used both an Artis (which worked fine) and the Huda brush and I gotta say, it does apply best when used with her own brush.  The foundation feels a tad heavy, but not as mask-like as I had assumed it would. It wore well all day, only started to break up in my T-zone after 8+ hours. I was finally getting over the stinky fragrance and loving the finish when I woke up to 3 painful zits all over my chin/lip area. I am not prone to breakouts so my only explanation is the foundation. This bums me out because I was starting to really like it. I have no idea what caused the breakout. Perhaps the ingredient for the scent, or maybe because it was too heavy on my skin/pores. But if you have sensitive skin like I do, this foundation may cause you some bumpage.

Overall I have a love/hate with this product. I am not bothered by the plastic packaging. Makes it easier to travel with, but should have however made the price closer to $30. I am going to try it a few more times and see if the breakouts continue, if so I will definitely not be repurchasing.

Review for: Warm Beige
I am still in the early stages of trying this. I've worn it about 3-4 times and so far I have mixed feelings. I kept hearing rave reviews, especially for oily skin so I was very excited to try it. First of all, I can tell you I loathe the smell. Pretty much all liquid/cream YSL products contain that overly fragrant rose scent. I smell it the instant I pump out some product and it lingers the entire time I'm doing my makeup. It's far from faint, it smells like straight up perfume, which is why I tend to steer clear. As for the formula, it is definitely full coverage and matte. It applies well, I prefer brush myself as a Beauty Blender just eats away product for me. It is long wearing, however after a few hours it started to break up in my t-zone and accentuate pores. I personally didn't experience any harsh oxidation. I plan on trying this a few more ways (mixing in other foundations, switching up primers) before I have a solid final verdict. As for now my best advice would be to try a sample of this before purchasing.
