I received this product in a recent VoxBox and have been pleased with the use I’ve gotten out of it so far. There is a lot of product for such small packaging and while I usually use it only 5 days a week, I’m still on the first bottle. It’s sticky when applying, so I’d say that’s the biggest drawback, but it’s been great in improving my tone and getting me to wear sunscreen beyond just whatever SPF my products have.
My lack of Vitamin D exposure has meant I’m back to an Ivory shade aka pale. This product layers nicely with the liquid foundation - meaning everything matches up and I don’t look clear. I’m happy that i can apply without it feeling heavy or greasy - especially as I build my coverage.
I originally tried this in the How to Look the Best at Everything kit (Light) and ended up buying a full-sized product in Champagne to match the laughable tan my face takes on with a summer burn.
I’ve been using a different foundation the last few months and I definitely miss this product. It provided needed coverage and worked with my questionable makeup skills to create a good daily look. I’ll be switching back to this foundation once I’m through my current supply. (Waste not).
We bought the chocolate banana at one of the local Asian markets. When you open the package, it has a strong artificial banana smell. That can be a bit off putting, but they actually are pretty good! The cookie is crisp and the chocolate filling is pretty solid. I probably would buy these again.
I picked up a mini version as part of the Sephora BI birthday gift. The package was a little hard to open (I got a lovely spatter all over my bathroom sink), but product was easy to apply. This product is not recommended for sensitive skin. While my skin can be sensitive, I just experienced a bit of a tingle without any other effects. That might be normal, but YMMV. You can keep the product on for 5-20 minutes, but it dries quickly into a dark gray clayish material. I ended up keeping it on for over an hour because I got distracted with work. Nevertheless, I used a warm, wet washcloth and it was very easy to remove. Followed up with some toner and moisturizer and my skin felt great! Since you can use this as a face mask or spot treatment, I’m going to try both methods over the next week and see how it ultimately fares. So far, so good.
One of my favorite places to shop. The products are affordable and high quality. Yesterday, we stopped in and spent well beyond our normal TJ’s run, BUT the average spend on 46 items was around $2.37 per item. We’d be spending either almost double or wouldn’t be able to find everything we bought at the other grocery store in town. The only drawback of TJ’s is sometimes you’ll fall in love with a product and it won’t come back.
