I got this in a Boxycharm, like most of the reviewers here. At first glance I was intrigued by the brush itself, because I used to have an amazing mascara years ago with a similar brush. I had high hopes. Well... I was disappointed pretty fast. I can NOT apply this without getting it smeared on my lid. I don't usually have this problem but somehow I can't avoid it with this mascara. The black is also barely even black. There is no volume added either. The one thing I can say, however, is that it can lengthen your eyelashes and separate them decently well... BUT it will take quite a bit of time and effort as the brush is so stiff and thick (not what I imagined at first), and the formula doesn't flow on easily. This could be used for a more natural look on its own (if you can even get it working right). But for me I guess it will just have to be a base for a different, more affective mascara. If I have that kind of time.
I've been using this cream for a little over a month now and I'm actually impressed. I have combo skin during the winter (now) and oily in the summer. I also get deep cystic acne (probably hormonal) on a more than regularly annoying basis, along with random normal pimples now and then. I ALWAYS have acne scars and in recent months developed a redness that I'm not used to noticing. I have textural issues and general tone problems and also gotten smile lines that got so deep that my foundation (or concealer) would pile up and go swimming in them.... I'm 23 and was (Yay past tense!) a smoker for 10 years so yeah.. My skin isn't the greatest. Well, after just the small time that I've been using this, my acne scars have gone away by like 80%. I also no longer have smile lines that suck up my makeup. They're gone! My textural issues are doing the slowest healing they can but it's happening so I'm happy. This cream even helps my cystic acne heal faster when it occurs. Dunno how but it just doesn't take weeks to go away anymore. More like a matter of days. I'm stoked honestly. My only complaint about this cream is that it isn't very moisturising in the winter. It actually dries out my skin a little due to the hyaluronic acid. But I combat that pretty easily and won't have this issue when warmer weather comes. I also get a slight stinging sensation if I apply too much or have cleansed my skin too roughly, but that's on me.
I started using these two months ago after I had been using the Walmart version of the pink Neutrogena ones (they are freaking great) but kept finding them out of stock near me. My first impression was amazement at how soft these are! It's completely awesome! They smelled nice enough too and weren't super pricy either. I've also had a bad run of purchasing dried out wipes so it was nice that these have been consistently moist every purchase. BUT guys.... I don't know what you're talking about when you say these work very well... They simply don't. Don't get me wrong, they remove makeup decently enough... But they just don't remove all of it. And I know, wipes aren't actually supposed to remove every bit of it, but these leave twice as much product behind as the pink walmart ones used to. I say this because I use a toner too and judge by what's left on the cotton pad. Most of the time I use wipes, then a cleanser in the shower, and THEN the toner followed by the rest of my skincare (which varies depending on level of laziness and exhaustion every night). Usually after the shower and toner, the walmart ones would leave only a slight trace on the cotton pad. But with the Yes to Tomatoes one, it leaves clear confirmation that there was makeup on my skin still. Even though it looked and felt like I was squeaky clean after my shower.
To end this review off, I will state that I more than likely will continue to use these because my skin does appreciate the gentleness (blemishes are fewer now), and I do make up for lack of makeup removal with my other steps anyway. I just don't think I can say goodbye to how soft these are!
The highlight is a nice color and is great if you want something a little more natural or subtle. You can also build it a bit if you'd like. I have beef with it though because it can apply patchy sometimes and you really need to buff it in with a brush because your finger won't work.
Honestly, I can't tell if I like this Primer sometimes or not. I feel it does a great job at helping my makeup last and the finish after it sets is soooo soft! And most of the time it helps with my texture issues SO MUCH! But some random days... It's as if it does nothing for texture and as if it melts right off. I will be repurchasing it because it works great more than not, I just wish I knew why it fails me sometimes. Maybe it depends on weather or the combination of products I use? But I DEFINITELY prefer this over Smashbox primers! That's for sure!
This product has grown on me a lot. At first I was disappointed because it seemed to make me more oily throughout the day than I'd normally be, and contribute to my foundation melting away. BUT I kept using it and then my skin finally accepted the toner and it has done wonders for me since. My skin is definitely not as oily as it used to be (no more melting foundation from excess oil either), and amazingly my pores have gotten smaller. I used to hate the sight of my giant pores but now I don't even notice them much. I was only getting this as a temporary until I can get all the Korean products I've wanted.. but now I don't really want to stop using this after all the progress.
I deducted 1 star because of the initial adjustment period. This product makes people think it won't work for them initially, when it probably would if they would just stick with it for a bit. Just like acne meds and birth control, your body needs to get used to a new introduction sometimes.
I got this as a gag gift over Christmas because I always ask my friends if my room smells when they come over. I'm very paranoid about blasting their nostrils with offensive cat litter smells. Even though it was supposed to be a joke, this turned out to be one of my favorite gifts tbh. My 3 cats are free to roam the house, but they spend most of their time in the room I rent where their litter box is as well as their food and toys. I'm also about to set up a second litter box in there (you need 1 for every 2 cats, so 2 for 3 - i don't muck around with my pet care). I've been seeing people say that the scent fades in a short time. It does not, it only spreads out. The strong scent you smell at first is just the high concentrated spray that hasn't settled yet. Honestly it is so strong at first that I feel I need to spritz instead of spray. But if you leave the room you sprayed and then come back in, you will notice that the scent is still there and everything's fine. If this spray does not work on the odors in your house, you likely lack in household cleaning and/or neglect taking care of your animals correctly. Remember, a spray is not an alternative to cleaning, much like deodorant is not an alternative to showering. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with this product and I'm fairly certain I will keep it stocked continuously.
Review for: Hask Keratin Protein Smoothing Shampoo more...
The reason I needed this was that I had bleached and fried my hair so much that it was desperate for protein. I used other products that just didn't work and then I decided to give Hask a try. It worked brilliantly! My hair feels stronger and super soft! It's helping me regain my normal hair back bit by bit. And I say that because hair is not supposed to be treated with keratin too often. If you use keratin too often it will have the opposite desired effect. Your hair will dry out and become brittle. I have deducted one star for there not being a warning to educate people on this. This product is more friendly and I can use it 3 times over a 2 week span, but any more than that will make my hair dry out and break again. Normally the recommended use of keratin is once every 6 weeks but as I said, this wash is very friendly.
I really like how effective this product is in setting makeup. It's also a major plus that it contains SPF and hyaluronic acid. I don't think it smells terrible like some other reviewers have said. The smell doesn't bother me at all. What does bother me, however, is that if you get ANY of it in you hair it will feel completely sticky as if you've dipped your hair in sugar water. It's annoying and I definitely don't want to have to rinse my hair after already finishing my makeup. So, now I just put a towel over my hair when I use this. It's still a great product, I just need to include that on extra step to not ruin my hair.
I absolutely love this highlighter. It was the first one I've ever gotten and after accumulating a whole collection, this is still the one that I reach for the most. My only complaint is that sometimes it settles down and accentuates my pores. That is not often though. Maybe it has something to with the combo of makeup on my skin.
