Born into a city filled with great people, major opportunities and an economy that lack stability. Janieya was very intelligent, she was one of those kids reading every word that she seen and calculating things by head before she’d use a calculator. In elementary, she’d be on the honor roll and the citizenship honor roll every grading period. Her parents were proud and delighted to have her as a child. She brought joy to every family gathering and loved making everyone laugh. Once she went to middle school she was an advanced student. She helped her friends with their homework and they’d show a tremendous amount of progress, it was so magnificent that her teachers acknowledged her for all that she done. One day her and her little sisters played “school” after school and they loved the experience of learning from another kid’s perspective eventually they wanted to play every single day. It was mouth dropping her parents were amazed how happy they were to learn stuff. They read books, solved math problems and even planted a garden as a science experiment. Janieya then graduated from middle school on the Junior Honors Society/ Top 10% meaning she had one of the highest grade point average (GPA) in the graduating class and skipped the regular 8th grade curriculum and moved on to 9th grade math (Algebra). She was accepted into one of the greatest technical arts high schools in Miami. Once she started high school she was introduced to a program that studies Technology and Entrepreneurship (AITE). She was one of 3 freshmen’s in a sophomore math class (Geometry). She went on to 10th grade where she was enrolled in an entrepreneurship class that taught the fundamentals of running a business. She and a group of 7 others were part of NFTE. NFTE is a program for young entrepreneurs and it teaches them how to run a business and give them funds to startup. Unfortunately, there were limited spaces so they had to compete against each other school wide and Janieya won. The award was $100 and a spot in their Startup Bizcamp. She then gained a lot of opportunities and experience. Now Janieya is the founder of Pebbles Tutoring. She wanted to make tutoring easier for working parents, cheaper for bigger families and most interesting for children so she designed a tutoring system that takes time, money, learning and fun combined them together so it can be more convenient, interesting and more cost effective.
