I’m comparing the two primers from Gisou: the Gisou Propolis Infused Polishing Primer and the Gisou Honey Milk 5-1 Styling Cream. I’ve used the Propolis Infused Polishing Primer for over two years, and it will always be my favorite. It blends well with other products and, if used in the right amount, doesn’t feel heavy. Just a pea-sized amount for each side of my long hair is enough so a little goes a long way! Once applied, I style my hair and set it with hairspray. The results last for a few days. The Honey Milk 5-1 Styling Cream was launched a few months ago. It’s very cost effective since you don’t need an additional product for heat protection or frizz control. However, you still need to set it with hairspray, as it’s gentler than the Propolis Infused Polishing Primer. The first thing I noticed was the strong, perfumy scent that lingers in the hair. Personally, I prefer little to no scent so I can use my own hair perfume separately. I also find it less strong compared to the other one.

I love the scent, super floral! The texture is creamy and silky. The coverage is good, a little goes a long way. The packaging could be better. I feel like a lot of product goes out when I open the cap.

Pros: - Smells great (but doesn’t smell the same as the hair oil) - great for smoothing out ponytails/flyaways - looks good in your hair for several days (ie doesn’t make it overly greasy) - a little goes a long way Cons: - it’s not a “life changing” product: i am confident that there are many products that probably do the same thing, but this is the one that I like - if you over apply, your hair can look a little stringy Best way to use it (for me): Warm up a pea/two pea-sized amounts of product in the palm of your hands, and then use “praying hand motions” or rake the product through with your fingers. I find it is best for smoothing out blowouts or my like day 3 hair when I’ve given nip and brushed my curls out into waves.
