I really wanted to like this product because I love Garnier's other moisturizers, and it's always nice to feel like you have a go-to brand you can trust when you want to try new products. Unfortunately, this cream does nothing but irritate my under-eye skin. Every time I apply this, my skin feels like it is on fire, and it turns a splotchy red from the irritation. I'm not sure what ingredient is causing this reaction, but it makes it impossible to use this product. Can't recommend this.
I received the strawberry flavor of these for free to review in my #FrostyVoxBox, and let me first off just say that I do not like most chewy candy- including any kind of licorice and gummy type candies. So, you can imagine, I wasn't particularly excited when I saw these, and I assumed I would end up just giving them away, but I wanted to taste them first, so that I could give them an honest review... And wow! They were actually surprisingly good! I had a hard time not eating them all in one go. They were the perfect texture, in my opinion- not too gummy, not too soft, juuust right. They came in little bite-sized bits, but you could pull them apart into smaller threads- kind of like Twizzler's pull-apart licorice, except without that horrible, chemical taste. The flavor was truly phenomenal. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and a believable strawberry flavor. I really enjoyed these, and if I see them around, I will probably pick a bag up. Definitely would recommend, even to someone who doesn't normally enjoy chewy candies.
I received some of this in my GoodLife VoxBox, compliments of Influenster for testing purposes. I've used NewSkin products before, and I personally love the convenience of them. They're antiseptic, and they're like a glue for your wounds. It's clear on the skin, too, so you don't have to worry about drawing attention to your cuts and scrapes. Basically, you wash the affected area, apply the stuff, let it dry completely, and you're good to go. You don't have to worry about this coming off easily like a band aid would- which is usually good, but it does make the process of getting it off a little annoying. Like others have said, it does have a kind of strong smell- I personally like the smell, but it's definitely not for everyone. However, the scent fades as the product dries. And yes, the antiseptic properties of this product make it sting for a few seconds when you first apply it on a wound, but it's nothing worse than a rubbing alcohol swab, and it gives you the assurance that you're not going to get an infection. This product is great if you want something quick and easy to use that you can take on-the-go, and that won't come off in most situations (you can even go swimming- yes, really). It's easy to pack in your purse, and is especially great if you're a klutz like me, and can manage to get a cut in a padded room. I personally would recommend this product.
I received a bottle of this in my Good Life voxbox, complimentary of Influenster for testing purposes. As far as I can tell, it does what it says it's going to- makes you less hungry. I haven't lost a significant amount of weight, though, so hopefully I'll see more results long-term. Overall, I give the product a B for doing what it says it will, and hopefully, I'll be able to change that to an A in a couple weeks.
(X-posting my review from amazon, only slightly edited:)
I received a sample of this in my Good Life voxbox, and I wanted to really like this product because I suffer from headaches and joint pain often, and a convenient on-the-go powder would be ideal, right? And in many ways, it is.
Just like it says, it is a small and convenient pouch, and you can fit them in your purse or backpack- you could even fit a couple of them in your wallet, or just your pocket. And, just like the product promises, you can take these powders without any liquid- just open the little package and swallow the powder like a pixie stick. And yes, it will relieve your pain- just as much as any aspirin/caffeine product, maybe a little faster for the sake of being a powder.
However, you have to remind yourself that this IS an aspirin powder, and despite the sweet lemon/lime flavor, you WILL be able to taste the aspirin. If you've ever chewed up an aspirin, or taken too long to swallow one down before, you know what it tastes like, and you know that the taste doesn't go away for a while. So, while the product does what it says, you can't fully mask the flavor of aspirin, and while you don't NEED liquid to take the powder, you'll probably want a drink to wash it down with.
Maybe you're thinking the taste is worth the convenience and the fast action, but let's talk about the price. 13 dollars for 12 single-dose packets of this. Eight dollars will buy you ~200 acetaminophen/aspirin/caffeine pills, or, if you don't want acetaminophen, you could get ~500 aspirin pills (which will be about 350 doses, if you want the same amount of aspirin as is in the UrgentRx powder) with that same eight dollars. Five dollars for a bottle of caffeine pills, if you want that as well. And you can chew any of these pills up for faster action, if you're willing to deal with the taste.
So, for the price, and considering the fact that you're probably going to want a drink anyway, you could do better. Giving this product a C for the fact that it does what it says, but the convenience does not outweigh the taste or the price of this product, and the fact of the matter is that there are better products out there for the price that are just as portable (pillboxes are a thing, or even just plastic bags if you really don't want to carry around a bottle of pills).
Unfortunately, this product is not for me, and I cannot say I will be purchasing it any time in the future. It's a good idea, but I feel that it is poorly implemented.
Ummm... where have these been all my life!? These are DELICIOUS. I'm not gonna lie to you, when I saw them in my Good Life voxbox (I got the cranberry kind), I thought they looked pretty pitiful, and I was expecting them to be dry, hard, and bland, but oh my goodness, was I wrong. They're the perfect consistency- not too soft, not too hard, just like a good biscotti. But that's not the best part. The best part is that the second you open them up and smell them, you KNOW you're about to take a bite of something amazing. It's got that sweet/spicy smell that every kid with an Italian family probably knows. It smells like Grandma's kitchen, like childhood. And then you take a bite, and you are not disappointed. It's got just the right amount of everything- sweetness, spice, chewy cranberry bits, almonds, and delicious cookie. I'm seriously sad that I only got one little packet of these... definitely going to find somewhere to purchase them. Yum!
I got a raspberry version of this in my Good Life voxbox, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not usually into the whole protein/nutrition bar thing, but I did like this one. Weirdly, I'm not usually into raspberry-flavored things either (although I love raspberries themselves- yum!), but I'll add an exception for this bar. I probably would have preferred the vanilla berry flavor, but still, I can't say I was disappointed. The bar was tasty and filling, and presumably a more nutritious treat than the heaping waffle sundae I might have had otherwise. ;-P
Also, I was surprised to read some of the reviews calling this bar bland or lacking in flavor- I found that to be far from the truth. It seemed like it was jam-packed with flavor- I mean, bordering on TOO MUCH flavor. Even my cats wanted a piece. (And got one because they're spoiled rotten.)
I only have two criticisms:
One is that, like others have mentioned, this bar had a grainy texture. I feel like this isn't unusual for protein/nutrition bars, though, so it's nothing you wouldn't expect going into your first bite, and doesn't really detract from the bar's score, by my view.
The other is that, like I mentioned before, the amount of flavor was almost bordering on too much- that fine line between sweet and TOO sweet, if you know what I mean. It didn't quite tip over into that stomach-churning area of sweetness, so I can't really complain. I just thought it was worth mentioning because some of us are more sensitive to these things than others.
Overall, I was pleased with the product, and I would probably recommend it to people looking for tasty protein/nutrition bars. Plus, they have loads of other flavors to choose from. There are only three Greek yogurt flavors, but there are a ton of others without Greek yogurt. If you're looking for a variety of good-tasting nutrition bars, definitely check these guys out.
I have two cats, and I used to feed them 9Lives cat food because that was what they were used to. However, when we moved to a new place and went to the nearby convenience store to pick up some food for the cats, they didn't have 9Lives, so we grabbed the Purina Cat Chow, and my cats loved it. Not only did they love it, but I noticed that they seem to have an easier time digesting it (they used to have really stinky farts pretty often, but this food seemed to help with that- hardly any farts now! lol). Sticking with this brand. My cats love it, and so do I.
My cats love this food so much. It's a great price, and there are a ton of options, and your cats will absolutely love you for buying it. I mix it up with dry food, and my cats get so excited every time they hear the spoon going into their bowls- they practically crawl up my leg just to get at it.
The ASPCA is a great organization. They're out there everyday, trying to do as much as they can for the animals. They have a lot of programs for education and awareness that are great- check out their websites for tips and tricks for common behavioral problems, and a host of other animal-related issues. Plus, they have a great spay/neuter clinic in my area that offers a low-cost option for low-income families, and making sure pets are spayed and neutered is so, so important. The ASPCA provides a ton of other good services for pets and feral animals, and I'm so grateful this organization exists.
