Graduated with a Bachelor's in Microbiology in California, and currently a professional intern/student in Texas. My studies currently revolve around eye health, so hopefully I can share some helpful tips about eye care while we use various products around one of the most perceptive parts of our bodies. The most recent changes to my beauty routine have been the addition of anti-aging and lip care products. I am also an illustrator and calligrapher, I am enamored by the smell of oils on canvas, and I regularly marathon The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit while enjoying hot tea. I'm mildly obsessed with paper and textiles, particularly in the quality of such things. I'm also growing more environmentally conscious and making baby steps in the "zero-waste" direction. You better be recycling <3 Also, I am a golden-medium (NW-30ish) skin tone which I think is an important thing to note when we're on the subject of makeup :)
Pro tip: Instead of swiping up and down, try dabbing against the skin when applying. I found that swiping will leave more deodorant balls, and dabbing keeps application cleaner. Then I wait a few minutes and feather up a tissue to lightly brush away any excess.
I don’t leave reviews as much as I used to but I logged in just to write about my experience with this amazing deodorant. Firstly, my pit problems were as follows: constant clammy sweat even in cool temperatures; odor that used to be kept at bay with Dove deodorant but has been stinking up badly halfway through the work day; super self-conscious about clothing and always wearing a loose layer (cardigan, light jacket) because my pit sweat does not discriminate when it came to fabric.
I followed recommendations to do a pit detox with bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar after I cut out my Dove deodorant cold turkey and boy, did I stink! But after 5 detox treatments (and unsuccessful samples of Lush natural deodorants), I did some research and found this for a great deal at Marshall’s. Wore it for the past few days with minimal stink by nighttime, and biked 9 miles in Houston, TX and I barely smell any of my body odor over the lovely jasmine tea scent!! My pits have been dry and pleasant to the touch all day— something I haven’t been able to say since puberty lol. I literally texted my family telling them my my pits have been cured. Never using non-natural deodorants ever again! Thank you for saving my pits, Schmidt’s!!
Also a plus: Fiancé LOVES the smell! He told me to never stop wearing this scent!
Came here just to say I just got done with the fastest dental cleaning in my life! My dentist took a look around and told me he was impressed with my home care! He just went over for some touch-ups and sent me on my way home within 15 minutes. I used to have a lot of tartar buildup from all the other various big-brand toothpastes but I feel the difference every day. Smooth, clean teeth that look polished and healthy 24/7! Cannot use anything else anymore!
First of all I got this in the anise flavor because the peppermint was sold out where I purchased it. Honestly, the initial thought was that sometimes, it almost exactly replicated the after-breath taste of when you vomit. For me it occurs right when I put the paste in my mouth, but once it suds away it’s gone, so I hold my breath during the first several seconds of brushing to save me from gagging a little.
Otherwise this is absolutely amazing, I had no idea why I had such bad breath all the time, and I didn’t understand how someone could have fresh breath without a residual minty taste from a good minty toothpaste— but now I’m a believer! I used to have to buy the toothpaste with built in breath strips and in the mornings I’d have the worst morning breath ever, but mornings after a night brushing with Dr. Bronner’s toothpaste is 1000x more fresh than what my mornings used to smell like. I used to have this little plaque build-up in one spot between my teeth that I would try so hard to brush away with my top-shelf toothpaste (without putting a dent in it), and of course the first use of Dr. Bronner’s was all it took to sweep it away. I was completely appalled. I stand by the “after-dentist” feel. It’s amazing and I’m a total convert. Excited to try the other flavors when this one runs out.
Remember to prime and set your liner!! I’ve seen so many bad reviews for this on other websites with complaints of smudging and transfer, but girrlll. My lids are probably just as oily (if not more!) than yours— I’ve tried this liner without priming and setting and goodness gracious, I would run far away from this liner. BUT if you prime before application, then set with powder on your bottom lids, this stuff is GOLDEN. Deep black, sharp matte lines from day to night, and night to day. With other liners, I’ve had issues with fading and smudging, but this stuff lasts. I use a small angled brush and pick up product and get the bristles between my lashes to fill in (I have sparse lashes and can’t stand the gaps I have!) Remember not to get any on your waterline where your tear glands live! I’m able to lay down a nice thick layer, granted, if you’re heavy-handed, you might need to wait a little longer for all of it to dry. Best part is that this stuff doesn’t dry out as fast as gel pots. So I use it like a gel liner but cap it up nice and tight like a liquid liner. This has become my go-to liner. I’d definitely recommend!
This product got too dry and crumbly way too fast, and when I swatch for direct comparison between other liners in a pot, this one definitely smudges way more than the others, no matter how primed or set it was. The main thing for me though, was the dryness. I wouldn’t buy it again because it won’t last long enough simply from drying out— wouldn’t be worth the money for how much you can actually use.
Personally, this didn’t work that great for me. I loved how it smelled and application isn’t too bad, but I just sweat too much, unfortunately. I know this isn’t exactly an antiperspirant, but it still didn’t quite deodorize, either, likely due to the sweat. If you don’t have a sweat problem, you’d probably enjoy this much better than I did!
My absolute favorite blend of chai! It’s definitely not as strong and peppery as other chai (such as the rooibus chai), but personally, I find this to be the most comforting taste, especially in a latte-style with a little packet of hazelnut creamer and a tablespoon of sugar. I have this every morning at work and it gets me through the day. I was initially inspired to find great chai when I first tried Starbucks chai tea several years ago, and I’m pleased to say that I’ve tried their chai again recently and prefer Numi by a long shot!
I love this stuff for my cuticles!! I apply it right before I shower so that my cuticles don’t get dry and start to peel after my shower. I also like to apply it after painting my nails or after trimming my cuticles. I definitely notice a difference when I use it, but I still feel like I could find something better— perhaps something that isn’t as oily. I’m just not the biggest fan of how heavy it feels, but it won’t stop me from using it!
I used the natural variation first, and I absolutely loved it. It tastes nice and sweet and makes my lips so soft and smooth all morning! I used it throughout the day and it worked great under lipstick. Used it for nearly half a year, then started using the maple one. This is where you heed my warning: All of a sudden I got the most horrible allergic reaction and my lips swelled, itched and turned a diseased red. Thankfully I used hydrocortisone and it calmed the inflammation. I’m sad that I’m now allergic to this, but it was pretty great while it lasted! This definitely doesn’t happen to everyone, but it’s worth your while to try this one with a test run first!
