I have been using the NYX Setting Spray in Matte for a few months now and I am not sure how much it is really helping. It does not hurt the wear time of the makeup or make me greesy looking, but I do not really see a wear extension in time, nor does it really makeup my face products appear matte/shine free if they already have a shine to the. I use it, but I am not sure how helpful it really is for me.
I have been using the Wet n' Wild eye shadow single in Brulee for a while now as an all over base color before applying other shadows. It evens out the color of my eye lids well and so far plays nicely with eye shadows from other brands that I apply on top of it. When used with primer it lasts all day for me and I do think it can help other harder to blend out shadows blend more easily.
The NYX Control Freak Brow Gel is hard for me to judge on staying power because my eye brows are generally not unruly so I use this more to lock in my brow powder, which this does very well. I do think the brush is over sized for something going through the brows, but since it is a clear gel this is generally not a problem. It does not feel crunchy in the brows which is a good thing. If I do not find something more appealing later I may come back to this, but I do not sing its praises to my husband so I don't feel it is really helping my makeup wearing life.
I have been using the Sephora Collection Blush in 05 sweet on you from a sample and I enjoy it enough to want to buy a full size blush when I run out of the sample. I need very little blush to get the desired level of color on my cheeks and the coral pink suits my skin tone well. It seems to last well on the skin and blends out easily.
The e.l.f. shimmering facial whip in lilac petal does give a shimmer to the skin wear applied. The reason for 2 stars is that I generally cannot see it having the same effect on the skin after a few hours of wear, it just seems to disappear after a little while, and I am not sure where all the little shimmers are getting to.
I cannot give a strong opinion on the e.l.f. High Definition Powder in sheer one way or the other. It is very light weight and I do not feel it on my skin when I use it to set my concealer or foundation, but I have a hard time telling what benefit it is really giving me. It does not to anything to take away from the makeup nor does it do anything to add to the makeup that I can see, so I give it 3 stars to indicate that it is okay. I have been using it for months and I still have a lot left so I will continue to use it, but I am not sure yet if I will eventually rebuy it.
I have been using the e.l.f. mineral face primer in clear for months now and it is the first primer I can say that I see it blurring my pores when I apply it. It also helps with the wear times of my face makeup, though how much it helps depends on how long the makeup would last normally on its own. Normally long lasting foundations do not benefit from it has much as foundations that did not last as well without primers or even with other primers. I current bottle is nearly out and I already have a backup for when I need it.
I picked the color in Look Lively for my free anniversary gift from M.A.C. It is a very light color while also bright. I find that it applies best when being dabbed on the lips instead of swiped on the lips. When swiped on the lips, if there are any dry patches or bits of skin that are not perfectly smooth it tends to gather in those areas and draw attention to them. The color lasted two to three hours before it was pretty much completely worn off. It did last longer with a lip liner, but that altered the color of the patent polish lip pencil which is sheer, but moderately buildable.
I gave Benefit Cosmetics's Hello Flawless! Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation four stars because it applies and blends easily for me, lasted well on the skin, and covers the redness of my cheeks while allowing my freckles to show through lightly. It does set a little quickly so that may deter some from using it as it is best to apply and blend on one part of the face, then move on to the next.
