I. Am. Obsessed. I am the type of person that frequently gets bored of their skincare, makeup, shampoo, food, snacks, you name it. I constantly am looking for new products to change up my routine and not get sick of what I've been using. Honestly, I have a few staples, but most of the time I purchase products based on reviews online or based on what looks cool/good/interesting in stores. So come Influenster earlier this year (I can't even remember how I found it, but I am SO glad I did!), and I started reviewing things I've used. And then got a few boxes since, including virtual voxes, and I am so excited to be a part of this community. I've found quite a few products that will undoubtedly make it into my rotation of products I'll purchase again, in between trying out new products. I also feel like I've learned how to articulate my thoughts better through Influenster, because I have to in order to write rave (or not so rave) reviews! All in all, you really can't loose. I will say that the app can sometimes be a little glitchy, but since I've started using the app, it has only improved and decreased the amounts of glitches I experience.
Please never change, Influenster. I love you SO much!
When I first went to a Chipotle, I thought it was so delicious. This is going back a few years. Now that I've had it many times (or maybe now that time has passed), I don't think it really is all that great. I love the concept behind the fresh Mexican food that is out and ready for you at the speed of lightening, but it's just been consistently sub-par for me. There is always something a little off with the food, whether it be hard rice or burnt/dry meat. I always want to love it, but it always just falls short. I'm not sure if the quality has just been declining, or if I just got really lucky the first few times I ate at Chipotle. Especially for the price, the sub-par meal is not worth it. I'd be happy to spend $9 on a meal that was delicious, but I can take my business elsewhere to similar locations that will consistently deliver more delicious food. The atmosphere is really great in Chipotle grills, but that doesn't make me want to come back for the less than great food.
I love Dove and what they stand for. Their products are high quality at super affordable prices, and they encourage women to love themselves for who they are, which is a brilliant company message that I can totally stand behind. Their products have consistently been super good to my skin, and I particularly enjoy their bar soap (seriously, I will never change bar soap brands in my life, unless Dove tragically changes their quality).
I'm highly impressed with this store, and here is the breakdown of why:
The Storefront: immediately when you spot the store, it looks super high end and fancy, but definitely cozy enough to draw a new or timid customer in.
The Aura: upon walking in through those doors, you are greeted with the most amazing scents, colors, and textures. There is a lot of wood and natural textures, with the products sitting out, readily available for you to look at, test out, and experience. There is literally no hiding of their products in jars or containers that are unable to be tested.
The Employees: they seriously hire the best group of experienced, professional, fun, and relatable employees in my experience. They are so friendly and knowledgable about all of Lush's products. They know exactly what you need before you know what you need, and they let you try out quite a few before purchasing anything. They also don't judge when you want to try it ALL. It is so nice having a personal skincare expert at your side as you traverse this store.
The Products: they're all freshly made and natural. How can you not love that?! But in addition to being super fresh, they're also beautiful to look at. And effective. And usually smell pretty good as well.
The Packaging: I'm simply in love. The sleek black packaging with white font is just beautiful. Also, their packaging is eco-friendly and recyclable! If you bring back enough packages to Lush, you receive a free product. How cool is that?!
The Pricing: they are a little bit more pricey than your typical drug store skin care products, but for good reason. Remember when I said their products are hand made and fresh? Yeah, totally worth the extra cost!
Overall: can I rave any more than I already did? I think not. This is a company that has it going on in every aspect, and is rocking at everything they do. They don't put out sub-par products, and consistently have beautiful stores with quality employees. This is my kind of store in every way possible.
Panera has slowly but surely grown on me over the years. I used to think it was entirely overpriced for what you got, but then once I became a super busy grad student with no quick and healthy food options, Panera became my go-to. Their food is fresh and consistently delicious, and their coffee is also surprisingly good (obviously needed with my grad student exhaustion level).
Finally, it is one of my favorite places to go when I want to eat something and then study, because there are plenty of small tables to sit at for quite a while and I have never felt like I was being eyed up for sitting too long or like I was taking away valuable seating from other customers. It's a super cozy chain that actually makes you feel really comfortable staying there longer than it takes you to eat your meal.
Can I please give Starbucks a 10 star review? I am obsessed. I used to think it was just a place for hippie coffee snobs, but either I changed into a hippie coffee snob or I just realized how incredibly amazing Starbucks truly is. Their coffee is strong, and the baristas know how to make the perfect coffee. If you want a tasty/sweet treat, there's plenty of that to go around as well (in both drink and snack form). If you want a combination of both caffeine and a tasty treat, then you CAN have it all (in the form of a frappuccino!).
Also, their rewards app. If you go to Starbucks and don't have the app, you are missing out on a ton of free beverages and rewards. Seriously. Use your app to pay, and you get points toward free beverages of any size (we all know the venti and trenta specialty drinks can get a little pricey, so why not use your freebie on that?!). The only con about Starbucks is that it is a little bit more pricey compared to other chain coffee places, but once you taste their coffee, it'll be difficult to go back (unless you like your cream and sugar with a dash of coffee). And the app really helps to reward you with extra points toward your next free beverage, so it makes me feel better about spending my money here (and also the fact that I know I will use my student budget on a consistently delicious caffeinated beverage, instead of questioning whether I will even be able to palate what they concoct for me).
In conclusion, yes, I am a Starbucks snob. You should be too.
Okay, so this review probably isn't going to change anyone's opinion (because let's be honest, everyone loves target!), but I'll still post anyway. Target is one of those stores that you almost never walk out of empty-handed. Something is undoubtedly bound to catch your eye, even if you don't need anything at all. The set up of the store I think is really what gets people, as well as the unique and fun products they sell at super affordable prices. My favorite thing about Target is the Cartwheel app, because I save so.much.money using this app, and have found some really great products at discounted prices using this app. They constantly have a ton of products circulating through with lots of savings headed your way - as long as you open up the app and search for your products!
I received a deluxe sample size of this product in "Birthday Suit" included in my Sephora birthday gift, and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with this lip paint! It goes on smoothly, and really is the perfect nude lip color. Although I cannot wear it with a natural makeup look because it washes me out, I love how it looks when I do a dramatic eye. Definitely looking forward to purchasing more colors in this matte lip paint!
I went to Lush as a last ditch effort to find the perfect face mask for my sometimes oily, sometimes dry, acne-prone skin that just seemed to be in a massive acne rut. I'm talking multiple cystic acne spots coming up all at once on my face, creating a painful and gross looking appearance. The lovely worker at Lush had me try out this mask and another, and I really liked how this one made my skin feel super smooth, but also lessened the irritation surrounding my acne spots! She told me that this one was the best for fighting acne that was already there, and I have to stay it made my spots much less red and also got rid of all of the dry crusty skin surrounding these spots. Also, after using it once, I have yet to get another cystic spot pop up, even though before using this I was getting 3-4 new ones every few days! My skin overall looks so much more fresh and bright. Seriously a life saver, and the Lush products are always packaged so cute. It is a little bit pricier than other brands you can get at Sephora or Ulta for the amount you get, but Lush products are hand made and don't contain any crazy gross ingredients, which also means you should use it up by the expiration date on the package! I have to say, I am in love with this product and cannot wait to try out the other products I purchased, as well as some more in the future! Lush is lovely in every aspect, including their products, packaging, and employees. Seriously, bring your business there.

I was absolutely obsessed with this show while I watched it. The story and characters are just so interesting and fun to watch. It is a little bit of a dark story, but still super interesting and not overly dark. There is a lot of mystery, romance, investigating, and gaining and loosing trust in certain characters. I just loved watching this entire episode so much.
