Review for: Erase & Conceal
I didn't find this product very effective on my dark circles but those have existed since I was a kid and I haven't found a product that will actually cover and correct them. The creams were oily and thin, which is why I didn't think they covered very well. If you have a mild blemish to cover, this product might be effective, but anything that's truly noticeable might need a product with a thicker, creamier, less oily consistency. The pros of this product are that it is not expensive and it can be purchased at most drugstores on mass merchandisers.

Review for Master of Mixes Mango Daiquiri/Margarita Mixer - 1 week, 6 days ago

Happy Hour Expert Level 1
I had a friend over a few weeks ago and we decided margaritas were needed so I grabbed the bottle of tequila I had chilling in the freezer and this bottle of mango margarita/daiquiri mix from the fridge and blended them per the recipe on the bottle. I've never made margaritas from scratch so I had picked it up a few weeks ago when I knew he was coming to town. I had never purchased the brand before but had seen it on the shelves for years so I thought it would be okay. I thought it would be a nice, quick, and easy version of my favorite margarita flavor. It wasn't. It was terrible. It had a cloyingly sweet, definitely fake flavor and also more than a hint of flavor of the plastic bottle. Neither of us could bear to drink it so we poured them out and had straight tequila instead. I will not purchase this again and may avoid buying another type of mixture altogether from this brand based on my dissatisfactory experience with this one. I cannot in good faith recommend this product nor any of the other mixers made from this brand.

Review for Target Beauty Box - 2 weeks, 1 day ago

I love seeing what is in the box before ordering. Most subscription beauty boxes don't work like that. This isn't a subscription box, though, and it sells out pretty quickly so keep your eye out for announcements from subscription spoiler sites. The products are usually good quality and include hair care products, cosmetics, bath & body products, nail products, facial cleaners and moisturizers, and accessories. Some of the products are full-size! It's a great way to try new products and/or new brands. There are several different boxes offered from beauty, natural/organic beauty, men's grooming, and baby boxes. Most boxes are only $7.00, which includes free shipping. The actual box is sturdy and can be upcycled into school or home projects.

Newegg makes it easy to shop for electronics. They know that people want the specs and not just a flowery, empty description and they provide it and all the details you need. They make it easy to compare products so you can find the right product for you.
Review for Arm & Hammer™ Slide™ Easy Clean-Up Multi-Cat Clumping Cat Litter 14 lbs. Box - 2 months, 1 week ago

My kitties were chosen to participate in a Smiley 360 mission for Arm & Hammer Slide Clumping cat litter. They received a $10 gift card to Walmart to be used to purchase a box of Arm & Hammer Slide Clumping litter as compensation for this review. #freesample #smiley360I have only ever used clumping litters which, let’s face it, is practically a godsend. I have tried numerous litters in the past but am still looking for that perfect litter. Perhaps this is it. We’ll have to see how it goes.I bought a brand new box so I could give this litter a fair trial without any residue from any other litter or any scratches or defects in the box that could cause the litter to stick to it. I filled the box with Arm & Hammer Slide Clumping litter this afternoon.

My first thought was that is was a lot smoother and the pieces much smaller/finer than I was expecting. My cats observed me and both had urinated in the box within the first half hour after it was filled.

The neat freak in me wanted to immediately scoop it out but I decided to give it a little time to harden since it’s after that that the litter adheres so strongly to boxes that it is like scraping concrete off the sides and bottom of the box. After a half hour, I scooped it out. It seemed to adhere to itself more strongly and less so on the box, although there were still remnants on the side of the box. It was not completely dry when scooped out so that may be the reason it did not fully come out. I will have to allow the litter to dry more completely next time to see how it does.About my cats:

Tinka had her front claws lasered off before I adopted her and for the past several years she uses the litter box only for urination and uses puppy pads for solid matter. I think she will be more likely to use Arm & Hammer Slide since it won’t irritate her paws as much as the other brands of litter; which have larger pieces that can have sharp edges on them. I have stepped on them before and they do hurt so a finer litter is a much better texture.

KiraBelle and both of the humans in the household have asthma so an unscented, dust free litter works best for us. I detected some scent with Arm & Hammer Slide, which is concerning, but didn’t see much dust nor did it irritate my lungs when I poured it into the box or scooped it out after it was used. However, this is something I am going to keep an eye on because I don’t want KiraBelle’s asthma to flare. She takes an antihistamine daily but cannot take corticosteroids or bronchodilators as she has hypertension, which led to a cerebral hemorrhage 6 years ago and I can’t risk her having difficulty breathing. So far, though, I like the product and have good expectations about it. I’ll review Arm & Hammer Slide Clumping litter again after a two-week test to see how well it works and if we or KiraBelle experience any breathing difficulty or other irritation.Have you tried it yet? What kinds of results have you seen?** UPDATE: Neither cats used the box after their initial urination so it must have been their way of marking their territory but not a product they wanted to use. Kira had quite a few asthma attacks after Arm and Hammer Slide Clumping Litter was put in her litter box so we think the fragrance and/or Arm & Hammer baking soda affected her respiratory system. Jim noticed that Arm and Hammer Slide Clumping Litter left a film on anything it touched: the litter box, the cat’s step stool and the litter scoop. It might also coat cat’s lungs; that’s just a theory and not actual proof that it does. We are not comfortable with the litter and removed it from the box and replaced it with her usual litter: Precious Cat Dr. Elsey’s Respiratory Relief Clumping Clay Cat Litter.

Review for Almay Healthy Glow Makeup + Gradual Self Tan - 2 months, 1 week ago
Review for: Light
I received two complimentary bottles of Almay Healthy Glow Makeup + Gradual Self Tan in exchange for my review. One in Light. The other Light to Medium. I used Light for this review.

First of all, I am pale. My Irish roots definitely show on my skin and I am as pale as the inside of an Irish potato so it was with some hesitation that I tried this product. I had fears of it turning my skin orange, making it look unnaturally tanned and dark (for me, at least) or that it would irritate my skin.

I tried this product for 7 days and will continue to use it and will buy it again. It is two products in one: a self-tanner and a foundation. It is easy to use. Simply pump the product into your hand, mix with your finger and apply to your face. (There is a bit of to do with the FIRST use only where you must thump it against a hard object, then pump it several times before the makeup comes out but other than that, it’s a piece of cake.)

It goes on evenly and has medium coverage but is not heavy on the skin. Unlike other self-tanners I’ve tried, this does not have an unpleasant odor. There is a tiny amount of scent but is barely noticeable.I was pleasantly surprised that it did not irritate my sensitive skin. It went on and acted just like any other foundation makeup.

Almay Healthy Glow Makeup + Gradual Self Tan was a very subtle change on me for which I was actually glad. If I was hoping for a deeper tan, I would have been disappointed in this product but it definitely worked the way I was hoping it would. It worked even better than I anticipated.

If you are looking for a quick tan and want dramatic results, this is not the product for you. But if like me, you want a subtle glow, I recommend it.

Review for Mrs. Meyer's Body Wash Honeysuckle - 16oz - 2 months, 1 week ago
When I was growing up, there was a honeysuckle vine covering the back fence. My mom wanted to cut it down because the sweet scent attracted bees but I begged her every year not to do it. Each year, she acquiesced, which gave me and my best friend Rhonda another summer during which to walk over to the vine and pick the beautiful blossoms, gently pulling on the stem to release the sun-ripened drops nectar from the flower, placing it against our tongues tasting its sweetness. Rhonda thought the white ones were purer but I knew the sweetness lies in the honey-yellow blossoms.

So when I received an invitation to try Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Clean Day Honeysuckle Body Wash, I jumped at the chance. I always want to try natural and organic skin- and beauty care products in hopes of finding products that work well and don’t contain anything I can’t pronounce or trust near my skin.

You expect beauty care products to smell similar to the fragrance they claim to be but Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Honeysuckle Body Wash smelled exactly like that sun-warmed vine on a summer day. It took me back to those carefree childhood days and sweet memories of my best friend. I didn’t expect an emotional escape into bliss but it was heavenly. It made my night time bath so relaxing I lingered for an extra twenty minutes or so to reminisce about the good old days.I love that Mrs. Meyer’s contains natural ingredients, not harsh chemicals. It is gentle on the skin and cleaned mine without irritating or over-drying it. It’s dermatologically-tested and would be good for people with sensitive skin.

I would have given the product five stars but the fragrance does not last as long as I would like.I received a complimentary bottle of Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day to facilitate my review. All review comments are entirely my own.
Review for Oxy Acne Medication Daily Defense Cleansing Pads - 90 CT - 2 months, 1 week ago

I've used these off and on since my teenage years. I have never had a problem with acne but I have blackheads and whiteheads on my T-Zone. These textured pads help to cleanse my pores and remove dirt and oils from them. My skin tends to be on the sensitive side but I don't have a bad reaction with these pads. They can be drying, though, so always use an oil-free moisturizer after using them.

Review for Maybelline Great Lash® Royal Blue Washable Mascara - 4 months ago

Beauty Junkie Expert Level 5
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara is always at the top of the list of favorite mascaras by beauty magazines and beauty bloggers so I was excited to try it. I remember seeing it on my sister's dresser when I was growing up but had never tried it until now.

It's a fun color and I love the bright royal blue. I wish the color popped even more on my lashes. I thought about adding another coat (I used three) but was afraid it would become too sticky or look too spidery. As you can see, I have dark eyes and dark hair so maybe the color doesn't show up well on people with similar features as me. Perhaps it works better on people with lighter hair color such as blonde, red, or gray.

The mascara dried too quickly so I had mere seconds to separate my lashes before the flakes fell.. (That spot on the side of my nose is a mascara flake.)  The formula and brush separated my lashes in a way that wasn't very agreeable. I'd like to see that improved as well as higher pigmentation to help the color stand out more.

I fell asleep with my makeup on (I know. I know. Bad Dianne.) and the next morning, my eyes itched and burned. As I'd fallen asleep in the other products I'd used before as I used when testing this mascara - the same eyeshadow, eyeliner, foundation, powder and brow tinter, it may have caused the symptoms in my eyes. It may not have, but if you have sensitive eyes, that's something you definitely want to watch out for.
Always remove this makeup before going to bed.

It's super fun, though. I'd love to see it in purple, pretty please?

I received a #free product for testing and review purposes but the opinions are my own.@influenster #contest

Review for Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur - 4 months, 1 week ago
Bailey's Irish Cream Liqueur has a sweet, creamy, smooth taste that is perfect with coffee liqueur, vodka, and cream de cacao. I forget the name of the drink but it's so tasty. I've also eaten Bailey's Irish Cream cheesecake at my local Irish pub, Molly Malone's, and it is heavenly. So whether you drink Bailey's or eat it in a recipe, you can't go wrong with it. It's so goooood.
