This, along with the Semi-Sweet (which is in my mailbox as I write this) are going to forever be cherished. These are the first two palettes I bought with my own money. The sweet peach formula is one of my favorites! The colors blend like a dream, and the scent is wonderful. I can only expect the same with my new Semi-Sweet!
CHI Flat Iron - a bit disappointing but I will use it
CHI has a good reputation and I liked that the on/off control was easy to use. I wish it heated to 450 degrees - my hair needs the intense heat to flatten fully. Also not crazy about having to unplug after each use - the red light power indicator stays on if you don't, which just tells you that it's plugged in but I won't take any chances. My last flat iron could stay plugged in with no light indicating it was "live".
I've tossed around between cream contour and powder, I prefer powder. However, most contour powders are either wayyyyy too dark for me, or way too warm, or way too cool. This shade is a happy mix between warm and cool. It's cool enough to look like a shadow, but warm enough to bronze up the face and add some color without looking muddy. It's super pigmented, a little goes a long way and it's so easy to blend and work with. Definitely stop looking, and buy this one. You won't want to use anything else. I'm have light skin tone with yellow to olive undertones. Photo is side by side, with and without contour using Tarte in Park Ave Princess.
This concealer is the best I have used for very dark under eye circles in years. I apply loose translucent no color powder and it stays set all day, does not cake. Price is great, too, will continue to order, goodbye to department store high end concealers. I urge anyone with concealer needs to try this. Catrice--please do not discontinue this or change the formulation!
The retoucher is a little bit of ethereal magic in the convienient form of a fairy's wand . It applies like no other concealer and blends like a dream . It gives your face an airbrushed wide awake look . You get transformed from drab to FAB in seconds . I also use as a foundation sometimes when I dont have the time to go all out . My skin looks sumptuous and I am in love ! Will be buying a few more colour ranges .
Not worth the HYPE!!! This is another product that I was extremely excited to finally get my hands on because their aren't as many contour palettes on the market that have had such great reviews like this one. Although I have to say this isn't really worth the hype. This is an OK palette, but if your gonna spend the money, splurge a little more and get the Kat Von D shade and light palette it is by far the best contouring powder palette I've ever had, and my ultimate favourite. The Anastasia Contour Kit isn't bad, but the contouring shades are mostly warm, and kind of can look like bronzers rather than that shadowy natural effect, cool tones bring you when contouring. The Kat Von D shade and light palette has cooler tones to contour with which look better. The Anastasia contour kit isn't as pigmented than the Kat Von D one, it isn't as easy to blend either. The Kat Von D palette is way more pigmented a little goes a long way and the shades are easier to blend. I also have oily and problematic skin, but with the Anastasia contour kit, I broke out and my skin was sensitive to it. I bought the Kat Von D contour palette before the Anastasia one, and I never had that problem. Overall, this contour kit from Anastasia isn't worth the hype, I would just keep buying the Kat Von D one for the rest of my life, it won't break you out and the shades to highlight/ set concealer and to contour are way better and more on the cooler side, rather than being warm/ looking like bronzers, they are more pigmented and so easy to blend. The best part about the Anastasia contour kit is the banana shade to set concealer or highlight, but other than that theres nothing to really freak out about. Definitely overrated. Not good for problematic skin, STAY AWAY.
It’s a stunner Wow, totally blown away by this palette. The colours are gorgeous, the formula is amazing and the packaging is to die for. This is in my opinion the best eyeshadow palette ever released from Kevyn Aucoin. This is so far my best beauty buy of the year.... well, that and my SURRATT face and eye brushes. I’m bored now with griege and orange and browns, this cool toned palette is what’s been missing. I must also give kudos to beautylish. This palette was delivered to me in the U.K in three days. I placed an order the same time for another Tom Ford 13 brush from House of Fraser U.K, as he is now replacing his goat hair brushes to synthetic and I am still waiting for a dispatch...not good. So thank you beautylish and thank you Kevyn Aucoin cosmetics.
Long lasting eye colour Was very excited to try out this eyeshadow as had never heard of eye contouring eye shadow. Always willing to try new products I opened the box as soon as it arrived on my doorstep.
I have the colour edition which has 12 different colours. Going from a very pale colour all the way to an almost black colour. With lots of beautiful colours in between. There was very clear instructions on the back on how to do a smoky eye which is something I have always wanted to try but always been a bit unsure of.
First thing I notice when opening the box is the little brush that you get with the eyeshadow. This is a dual ended brush with a brush to put on the eyeshadow and a little brush to Blend the eyeshadow. I find using too many brushes a pain so this is great to have both on one brush.
My next impression is how vibrant all the colours are. They look even better on skin than they do in the box. They were so easy to put on my eyes and they blended so easily.
I used a lighter colour all over my eye and then a medium colour onto the outer corners. As I have the colour palate I decided to be brave and use the bright blue to give my eyes a pop. I was a bit scared I would look like I was auditioning to be madonna's back up dancer in the 80s but it was a beautiful modern blue. I then used a darker colour to give my eyes the smoky eye look I was hoping for. Then blended it all together using the brush. I was really happy with the end result. You can even wet the brush and use a eyeshadow as an eyeliner. Again this was great as meant that I did not need to use too many products.
I had a busy day with my two children. I think they were surprised at their mum looking so glam for a trip to the park. I was suprised to see 5 hrs later that the eyeshadow was still as fresh as it was when I first put it on. As a busy mum of two I don't have the time to be reapplying my make up all day so this was great.
I would highly recommend this product to anybody who is looking for a long lasting eyeshadow with a beautiful choice of colours.
Favorite Beauty Product I Own Now That I Know How To Use It!
DON'T USE THIS AS A SETTING SPRAY! This isn't to make your makeup last forever, it's to mesh it into one layer to prevent slipping and separating and to get rid of the cakey look. Light spritz of this to make your makeup look great then a light spritz of setting spray like UD All Nighter or Skindinavia to lock it in place is a DEADLY AND MIRACLE COMBO! EnKoreMakeup on youtube has a video called "Facial Sprays 101" and he goes in depth about what makes the two different from each other and he also shows you a demo on how they each perform alone and then together and it'll blow your mind. When I found this out it was a game changer for me. Give it a try. Mac Fix + is an amazing product on its own though. And so far, undupable*. By meshing your layers of makeup together, it does prevent slipping and separating like I said above, which WILL likely make your makeup last longer than no sprays at all. I actually use Fix+ alone most days because I either wear light makeup or am not going to be out for long so I don't need setting spray. I also seriously use Fix+ several times a day because it really refreshes and soothes your skin. I use it on the plane, I use it at work, I have turned all my friends onto it. Like I said, it is my hands down favorite product. *I am not a Mac fan girl and if I can find a dupe for anything, I'm all about great cheap products. I've searched and searched dupes for this and none of them are actually similar in ingredients (butylene glycol, glycerin, botanical extracts) nor do they perform the same. Many said a good alcohol free toner is a dupe but I have yet to try.
