I have always been a huge fan of e.l.f. because they make quality products at insanely affordable prices, and this one is no exception. This is the first eyeshadow primer I ever tried because it was the cheapest I could find, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. The primer is unscented and it’s tinted but it applies sheer and dries transparent, which is important to me because I have very fair skin and tinted products are usually too dark/warm. I found that the formula is a lot thinner than most primers and has a slippery feel to it until it dries — which takes longer than my other primers — so I had to subtract a star, but it definitely does what it’s supposed to. I have hooded eyes which are prone to creasing and this product eliminates that problem while locking my shadow and liner in place all day — or until I want to take it off. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is new to eyeshadow primers and wants to try it out without breaking the bank, or those looking for a cheaper alternative to their current primer.
My favorite hair serum was Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil Deep Nourish because it worked incredibly well and smelled absolutely heavenly, but it was sadly discontinued. In my search for a comparable product I decided to try this one, and while it isn’t nearly as good, it works fairly well. The length and ends of my hair are very frizzy and damaged from being bleached, color- and heat-treated countless times, and this helps control the frizz and add shine without being super greasy or heavy. The scent is pleasantly fruity but not overpowering, and I like the pump mechanism better on this bottle than the discontinued one because it provides better control and is still easy to use after your hands get slippery from the serum. It isn’t quite as lightweight as the last one and doesn’t seem to last all day which is somewhat disappointing, but I’ve yet to find a better replacement. If you have slightly frizzy hair this would likely be a perfect solution, but if you have damaged hair like mine you might wish to find a more effective product.
I discovered this product back in high school and it has been my favorite facial moisturizer ever since! I love that it contains natural ingredients (like Southernwood which has antioxidant properties and restores the skin’s moisture barrier) as well as SPF30 sunscreen to protect my delicate skin. I’m absolutely obsessed with how amazing it smells, which is really important for a product that goes on your face, so I’m always excited to apply it. I love that I can use it daily because it’s oil-free and doesn’t clog my pores or break me out. Even the packaging itself is beautiful, the bottle feels nice and heavy in my hands and the pump mechanism gives me excellent control over the amount of product dispensed. This has been a staple in my skin care routine for years and will likely continue to be, so I highly recommend it for those like me whose skin needs a daily boost of hydration.
This eye cream is incredible, without a doubt my favorite so far. I’m very prone to puffy eyes — especially in the morning, after a long night or a bit of crying — and this cream works miracles! The formula itself is soft and creamy with a subtle but pleasant smell, and when I first apply it I can immediately feel relief. It works quickly to reduce puffiness and redness while leaving my lids soft, soothed and hydrated. I thought the container seemed small, but a tiny bit goes a long way so it has lasted me a lot longer than expected, and I love that I can find it at my local Walgreens. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it doesn’t seem to soak in completely and can be a bit tacky, so I can’t really use it if I’m planning on applying makeup afterward (unless I wash it off) but I find it works best as a preventative measure before bed or a remedy immediately after I wake up, so it isn’t a big issue for me. Besides that this product is amazing and I’m happy to have discovered it and made it part of my daily routine!
I’ve been a Lushaholic for a couple years now, so when I heard about the jelly masks I was ecstatic! Bunny Moon is the first (and so far only) jelly mask I’ve tried and I’m so pleased with it that I can’t wait to try some others! I love the way the formula transforms from a jelly to a creamy paste and glides right into the skin, and it stays put until you’re ready to wash it off. The sweet scent of honey and vanilla are very pleasant and comforting, and the gold flakes against the pale jelly add a nice aesthetic touch. I use this mask whenever my skin is red and inflamed, dry, agitated, sore, or just in need of some love. It soothes and moisturizes my skin, leaving it soft, hydrated and supple every time. I’m definitely going to be repurchasing Bunny Moon as well as whichever jelly mask calls my name next!
I have combination skin that tends to go back and forth between very oily and dry + flaky, so it isn’t easy finding products that work without breaking me out, but I absolutely love this mask! Unlike a sheet mask you can choose where the product goes (I use it all over), there isn’t a huge mess of excess product dripping everywhere, and you don’t feel like a wet towel is on your face. The scent is pleasant but very subtle, which is important since you’re supposed to sleep in it. When I first apply it there is a mild cooling sensation, but the beautiful blue gel formula is so light I soon forget it’s on my face. Every time I wake up and wash it off my skin feels incredibly soft, supple, moisturized and healthy, so I know it’s working like it should. My skin has greatly improved since I added this to my skin care repertoire, I definitely recommend this to anyone whose skin could use a hydration boost!
I absolutely love the entire “Yes To” line, but this recently became one of my skin care staples. Unlike most charcoal masks I’ve used, this one is very easy to apply and remove and it doesn’t feel tight, dry or uncomfortable on the skin. After washing it off my skin feels happy and healthy, and my pores look and feel clean. Unfortunately the smell isn’t the most pleasant in my opinion — especially for something that sits on your face — but it isn’t bad enough to be unbearable. This is one of my go-to products for preventing and treating my adult acne and I’m excited to try the rest of the Yes To Tomatoes products! 🍅
This was my favorite face lotion for a long time, and while it’s no longer my #1 I still use it fairly often. Unlike the squeeze bottle shown here, mine comes in a small pump bottle that dispenses the perfect amount of product. The lotion smells amazing, I can’t even describe it but I’m obsessed with it (as with most Aveeno products). It makes my skin feel so soft and smooth without being heavy or greasy and breaking me out, and keeps the dry flaky skin in my T-zone under control. My only complaint with this product is that it doesn’t sit well under makeup — which I’m assuming is due to the sunscreen — but it works amazing if I use it before going to bed. I would highly recommend this to anyone with dry skin that needs a little love. :)
When I was given the opportunity to test out the bareMinerals MADE-2-FIT Fresh Faced Liquid Foundation I was extremely skeptical about the idea of an app that can scan your skin tone to determine your perfect foundation match, especially since I’m super pale and have a hard time finding a match on my own, so I can’t say I was surprised when it turned out too dark and too warm. Despite the color difference, I still tried it out and I must say I was genuinely impressed with the formula! It feels buttery soft without being greasy or heavy on my skin so I don’t feel like it would break me out or make my skin angry. The coverage isn’t the fullest but it’s easily buildable and blends really nicely — I found the best application method for me is bouncing it on with Beauty Blender dampened with warm water because it melts right into my skin. I love the natural, dewy finish so much I could potentially see it being wearable without powder. The packaging is gorgeous as well — frosted glass bottle with a gold mirror-finish cap — and it has a really nice pump mechanism (my favorite!) that gives you a bit of control over the amount of product dispensed. I think the most exciting part was seeing my name printed on the bottle because it feels personal and I know it was made just for me! Honestly the price is a little high compared to what I’m comfortable with, but I love the formula so much that if I could actually get a perfect match I’d be more than willing to pay $50 for the bottle. For reference I normally wear Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation in Light 42 Neutral and I’ve contacted the company to see if it’s possible to get a comparable shade, in which case I will gladly purchase another bottle so I can properly test its wear and give an updated review for anyone with a similar skin tone!
