Like most people these days, I get puffy dark circles under my eyes, and I’m beginning to see some fine lines around my eyes as well. I haven’t been great about consistently using eye cream - I usually dislike the texture of the ones I’ve tried before. I waited a little while after use to be sure to give a solid review and was surprised to see results, honestly. It’s brightened the dark areas under my eyes, made them look less puffy and I feel as though the fine lines are slightly less noticeable. I wish I had taken before and after photos! The formula is sort of gel-like, and absorbed really nicely. It was thick, but not overly heavy feeling. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend, and in fact, I think I’ll be getting this for my mom for her birthday (she’s always hunting for good eye cream).
I was lucky enough to receive this product from Influenster (along with the eye cream and serum), and I actually passed this one to my Mom to try. I had mentioned to her that I wasn’t sure how I would test this product with no dark spots (yet, haha). She expressed interest in giving it a go, so I sent it her way. This is the review she sent back to me, in her own words: “The Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener has been quite effective on my 57-year-old skin. I chose to use the product on an area of my face that I considered a "lost cause" as far as brightening up, an area along my lower right cheek/jaw line, where years of HRT had created an elongated area of darkened skin, one of the side effects of HRT. The darkened area had abated somewhat now that I'm 4 years away from the medication, but I wanted to put this product to the test on a very difficult area created by medication side effects. It took about 7 days to notice that the area around the darker spots was brightening, but at day 10, the actual dark spots began to lighten up also. One of the best parts of the product for me was that it blended in within a few seconds with no residual oiliness or lingering scent whatsoever, enabling me to apply moisturizer much sooner than I expected, yet allowing the product to work nearest my skin well before applying other product layers. As always, I'm impressed when just a very tiny amount of product has a great coverage area, and this product excelled in that area for me. Overall, I believe this product was particularly beneficial for skin affected over a 17-year period from HRT. I will continue using the product.”
Review for Signature Legend Coated Canvas Tote (Black):
I have travelled with this bag about 6 times since I received it as a birthday gift from my fiance. I’m a web developer and I travel often, working remotely, so I needed a good bag that was going to allow me to carry all my items (including my 15” laptop) comfortably through the airport and around to coffee shops. The bag itself is beautiful, sleek and very sturdy. My laptop fits but if it were any larger, wouldn’t. I can only put it in the laptop compartment a certain direction or else it doesn’t quite fit.
It can hold everything I need when I travel - laptop, iPad, water bottle, my smaller purse, snacks, etc. There is a special strap you can attach your keys to so they don’t get lost, and a detachable water bottle holder which I love because when I have all my tech in the bag, it can be concerning to have a water bottle in there too, but it doesn’t budge with that and also keeps any potential condensation away from my laptop. The bag stands up well on its own and doesn’t tip over, even with all my items inside.
My only complaint about this bag is the straps. You can’t move them (adjust, push down, etc) which can be a bit of a pain when you’re running it through airport security or putting it under the seat in front of you and have to tip it over. Also, they are very hard and sort of rounded, which makes them dig into my shoulder pretty hard. I expect a bag to be heavy with all the things I carry in it, but flatter straps would allow for better weight distribution. That said, it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me since I love everything else about it!
I’ve purchased products like this from other brands before, and I always smell the Downy ones in the store but hadn’t tried any scent from them other than Shimmer (which is amazing), since they tend to be a little bit more pricey than the others at my stores. I received samples of the Fresh scent from BzzAgent to try. I was really happy with them! I hadn’t tried this scent because I always wondered if it would be too strong, but it isn’t. I love to use this scent on sheets and towels especially because it really just smells...well...fresh - like laundry that just came out of the dryer. You do have to be careful using these on dark clothes/items because they leave a little white residue sometimes - but as long as I make sure to add them to the washer before adding the clothes I don’t usually have issues. I’m not entirely sure that the 12 weeks claim is accurate (maybe 12 weeks if you just wash something then don’t touch it), but 5-6 weeks has held up in my experience so far!
I received a sample bottle of this wash, as well as a few of the wipes in the same scent, from PinchMe to try. I hadn’t had much experience with an intimate wash before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’ve been pleased with both products! The White Jasmine scent is absolutely heavenly - I want other products with this scent too! It’s so light but very refreshing smelling. The wash formula is very gentle on skin and I have had no issues with irritation. I like that there are no dyes, parabens or MIT preservatives in it as well. The wipes were extremely convenient to take traveling with me and I will absolutely bring them on my next camping trip. I would definitely recommend this wash is you are looking for this type of product!
I received samples of this from PinchMe. I do feel as though I noticed the increased caffeine content - I felt more alert with just one cup of coffee, but not jittery. I liked the flavor of each of the blends as well (I usually like blonde roasts best), and I usually drink my coffee with some almond based creamer, so I’m not sure how it tastes without that but I still liked it. I had no compatibility issues with my Keurig using these pods. I will definitely purchase these in the future!
I received this product in a Target Beauty Box. I’ve used Palmer’s lotions before and have always had great experiences - so I was really excited to see a coconut oil formula product from them! The lotion is thick but not “body butter thick”. It smooths into skin really well, and doesn’t leave a greasy residue afterwards. My boyfriend has used this a few times and I’ve mentioned in other reviews he is PICKY about lotion. The moisture from this product definitely seemed to last a while as well. It has a coconut-y scent obviously, which smells lovely to me, but might be a bit overwhelming to anyone who is sensitive to smells. I think it largely is due to the coconut in addition to the cacao seed butter. There is some artificial fragrance in this product, however, it is free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, gluten, sulfates and dyes. Also - Palmer’s in general is against animal testing. Especially given the price point, I think this is a really great body lotion!
I received this cleanser in a Beauty Fix subscription box. I’ve used products from this brand before and have like them, and I’m always excited to try a new cleanser! This is meant for normal to dry skin, and I would consider my skin on the “normal” side - it’s not dry nor oily, nor a combination of the two. The formula is white and a little gel-like. It has a little lather to it, and is basically scent-less. It only smells to me like glycerin, no artificial fragrances. This was indeed gentle on my skin, and it did feel hydrated afterwards - not tight or dry! This would be a great option for those with dry and/or sensitive skin - though I probably wouldn’t purchase again because I like a cleanser that takes off my makeup more (the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5).
I bought this at Ulta - I like the TONYMOLY brand. The mask fits my face well, it’s not too big like many sheet masks I’ve used. It’s also not overly saturated with serum to the point where it’s dripping down your neck. It definitely has a rose scent but isn’t overwhelming at all. I would absolutely buy this again!
