Discover checking or savings and the payment gets held for manual verification, which can take days to clear, you can call their support and the credit support will call over to the banking support and speak with them to verify your payment. Because it's all in-house and the same quality of support it takes a couple minutes, whereas, if they had to call some other bank who knows how long you'd be waiting and whether or not their support was even any good.
