I'm really surprised by all of the sub-par reviews for this product, because I've been using it for months and have only had good results. Historically, I've had overwhelmingly terrible cystic acne, that could basically be controlled by nothing. I found that Lush's Herbalism did really well at managing my breakouts, but because I was still having some lingering cysts I added their tea tree water to my daily facial routine. Since that continued to help I decided to try grease lightning since it has a higher concentration of tea tree oil, and I found that it was what my skin really needed! I never found much success using it as a spot treatment, actually, but I like to take one or two pumps and spread it all over my face before I moisturize and head to bed. While it does have a tightening effect that other reviewers have mentioned, I don't attribute this to it dehydrating your skin, but rather to the carrageenan extract, which is derived from seaweed and therefore shrinks up when it dries. So I don't think it's accurate to say that this product is necessarily 'drying.' I've never tried this under makeup, but as long as I spread a thin layer over my face I never experience any flaking of the product. When I apply it liberally to spots, however, I notice that once it dries it flakes off.
Bottom line, give it a try. Lush has a good return policy, and it seems that with a lot of their products you either love it or hate it. For many people, their skin responds really well to tea tree oil; for others, it can make things worse. Just keep experimenting and you might find something you love!
Review for: Tony Moly I'm Real - Tea Tree Face Mask Sheet - Soothing (2 pack) more...
As someone with oily skin, my first thought was never to get a sheet mask and hydrate it because of course, I never thought I'd need to, besides for a light moisturizer. But with the weather changing, the colder air took a toll on my skin, and knew something was off. I decided to buy this and give it a try. You guys, I was shocked. It helped to moisturize my skin and not only that, I had a small area filled with stubborn pimples that refused to go away. For weeks I was trying to get rid of them. I'm on top acne creams from the dermatologist and still those did nothing to really help them go down. After I took off the mask, I instantly felt refreshed and in the morning, I didn't feel extra oily like I usually did. My skin was much clearer, and it felt amazing. If you have oily skin and you have a lot of oil, you might just need a good moisturizing sheet mask. And I will definitely be incorporating these into my daily skin routine.
I love this product. Ever since I bought it I keep buying it again. I expected it to smell bad because I don't like the smell of tea tree oil, I was pleasantly surprised that it had a typical nice lush scent. I feel like it helps to prevent breakouts and makes my face less oily. For some reason this product combined with primer makes my skin very soft.
I decided to try this mask because I absolutely love the charcoal peel by the same brand. First it comes out of the pouch clear which I don't mind it just threw me off that it was green on the cover. began putting on the tea tree mask, and it burned. Having sensitive skin I expected this and usually just fight through it as it isn't too bad, but as time went on the burning sensation was so bad I couldn't even open my eyes, it felt like my face was on fir*. I had to wash it off before It finished drying, but it did leave my skin soft and feeling clean even after not finishing it.
I got this lotion as part of a set and it really completes my daily routine. But just be aware that less is more. if you have oily skin like me and use more than a pea-sized amount it will make your skin greasy and oily all day. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. I'm ok with it, that just means the tube lasts longer,
Review for: Dr. Bronner Organic Green Tea Castile Soap (140g) more...
Okay, so a great soap. As can be expected from anything Dr.Bronners the soap does not dry out your skin and it totally will get a person clean. But....that diesel smell is too much. I read another review about the smell and they were right. I am on my second shower with these and the first time it was almost overpowering. The second time I think I got a little more acclimated to it which I am hoping continues. Again, a great quality soap but whoever said, "yeah this is a great scent".....mighta been wearing nose plugs. Yes, your skin will get what can be expected from anything tea tree, so that tingly sensation is there as well but again...the diesel smell is too much.
These cups are the best tasting EVER! This version with the dark chocolate cups are next to impossible to find! These are SO good.... Really really good (and fresh!). These are way better than the plain milk chocolate and i really highly recommend them.
I bought a Belgian waffle maker sort of on a whim and I was then confronted with the question: What waffle mix do I use? Somehow "Hungry Jack" felt like an afront to such a sublime kitchen appliance. I read the reviews here on Amazon and concluded that despite the rather high price, Stonewall would be a great choice. Bang! Nailed it the first time. Now, I don't know if my waffle maker is particularly large/deep, but I get only two and one half waffles out of each batch (following the recipe on the label). I don't dare water it down to try to stretch it out and I figure I only got about 10 batches of waffles out of one can. The cost-per-waffle is steep, but these have never failed to come out light on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and they have NEVER stuck to the waffle iron. Grudgingly, even though I see the price has gone up a dollar per can, I will be reordering, but if it goes up any higher, I may have to try another brand.
First of all, this waffle mix tastes excellent. My wife and I are waffle fanatics. We really like pancakes but we LOVE waffles. We also love Mrs. Butterworth's syrup above all others. So when I saw the reviews for this mix, ordering was a no-brainer. I finally busted it out yesterday and made up a batch to try them out. As mentioned, they tasted great... but there were a couple of things I thought were worth mentioning...
First of all, this is a "complete" mix so if you are making pancakes, you just need the mix and water. If you are (like us) making waffles, you will need a tablespoon of cooking oil. No biggie. Also, the back of the package says this will make 6-7 waffles, but it only made 2 belgian waffles. Also not a biggie. The bigger issue for me is that this mix uses soy flour along with the wheat flour. My body doesn't tolerate soy products very well and later in the evening my stomach started rumbling. I couldn't figure out what would have caused it but the waffles were the only big change to the normal daily routine/diet, so I checked out the ingredients and saw the soy flour. Bingo.
Now this isn't a huge deal and I will still use the rest of the mix, but I will check ingredients more carefully next time. I also wanted to give anyone else who has this same sensitivity a heads up about the soy flour in this mix. If that doesn't bother you, then again... this mix tastes wonderful. In our belgian waffle maker, they come out very soft and fluffy, even on the highest setting. But the taste is excellent.
