Review for AbeBooks.com - 1 month ago
We've shopped AbeBooks.com for years, everything from great reads to text books to things in between.

We've always had great service, fast shipping and I'd say 90% of the time the used books are in far better condition than we expected, plus often at a much better price, especially on college books!
Review for Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick - Manila (rosy nude) - 1 month ago

I've tried a lot of long wearing lip colors, matte, creams, etc.

Though I love the wear, I dont like a product to dry my lips out and I really don't care for sticky, gloopy products either.

I had received my first OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in a subscription box and I've been hooked ever since and now own like 5 of them!

Sure, it doesn't last as long as some out there, but it doesn't irritate or dry my lips out, it's comfortable to wear and easy to apply and the colors are amazing!

Plus I love that they are not tested on animals and they're affordable too!

Review for Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder - 1 month, 1 week ago
I have tried a ton and I mean a ton of loose setting powders, as well as pressed powders and even the high-end ones, rarely compare to the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder!

So many powders are chunky, gritty feeling and either look cakey, ghostly or are really drying!  Not the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder!

I have dry, sensitive skin, but I like to set my concealer as well as lightly powder my eyelids and not once has this ever cause me skin irritation!

I find the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder is finely milled, feels silky and even photographs well, plus they don't test on animals!

Review for Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask - 1 month, 3 weeks ago

I was able to try the Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask as I #GotItFree in a past #VoxBox and I really appreciate that the line is a Creulty-Free Line.  Eva NYC products smell so yummy but are not strong and the scent does fade fairly quickly so at least for me it didn't clash with any fragrance I might be wearing.

Along with being Cruelty-Free, these products seem to do fine even with my sensitive skin, which is always a plus and I love the feel of my hair once I've used this as my hair does comb out easily and is tangle free!

Now my hair is on the drier side in Winter as well as Summer, so I do try to not use products where Alcohol is one of the main ingredients, sadly the 2nd ingredient on the list is Alcohol and it does tend to dry my scalp and ends out if I use it more than once a week or don't get it rinsed out completely, so that is why I am a bit on the fence with this product.  However, it would probably be great for Spring and or Fall, when my hair is less dry.

So, anyway, for now, I'm kinda on the fence for the product for myself, but for someone without my issue, this may be great year round as we all have different hair and scalp types!

But overall, it smells great doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, it works and is affordable!

Review for Living Proof Prime Style Extender(TM) Spray 3.4 oz - 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Having hair that is on the drier side during Winter or Summer, I only
wash my hair, every other or every two days.  Since my hair isn't oily I
can get away with this and my hair responds best this way.

However,
not washing daily I tend to end up with tangles by morning and when I
had been sent a sample of the Living Proof Style Extender with an order I
had placed on Sephora a while back for Living Proof, I gave it a try.

Though
I really like several other products from Living Proof I really wasn't
hoping for much with something called "Style Extender"  I guess I
thought the name sounded a bit hokey, who knows.

I'm Polynesian mix and my curls can go from springy to loose and romantic, or beachy
or even the dreaded frizz depending on the weather.  So the first time I
had tried it we were relocating for the Army from the East Coast back
to the Pacific Northwest and we did so since we have pets in our little
RV.  Rv-ing is great and I love our RV, but I don't really like to
shower in it so I keep my shower brief and wait until we can stop at an
RV park to take a little longer shower to wash my hair, which is about
every other day.  Now we've done this a lot, so I have tried many dry
shampoos and those either make my hair feel oily, smell like pledge, make it look chalky or they dry it the heck out with the exception of a few and one of those is also Living Proof product!

In
comes Style Extender (sorry I took so long to get here)  Now Style
Extender is available in two forms, a Spray as well as a tube and though
I am not sure if there is a difference in the two I prefer the spray
version.  Now the this is a product to be used on clean damp hair,
though I have to admit I have on the 2nd day sprayed my hair with water
and sprayed the Style Extender on the ends of my hair in humid climates
and it still worked great for my hair.

Anyway, that trip took
10 1/2 days and I used the whole sample bottle, on the few washes I
didn't use it I noticed a difference, in the morning my hair would be a
crazy mess, but I figured it was the changes in weather and climates.

Once
back home here in the Pacific Northwest I hadn't used it in a few days
and it was Winter,  and every morning my hair was a hot freaking mess
and the tangles, ugh!  So for about a week I left the conditioner on
longer, even went back to using my leave in conditioner spray, but
still, something was off.

So as I was placing an order on
Sephora, I thought why not and I ordered the full-size bottle of the
Living Proof Prime Style Extender and have been happy ever since, now
the days I forget this step I notice a total difference, Hair tends to
be dryer, tangle easily though I don't have split ends and just behaves
differently as it will require more to keep it looking styled and not a
hot mess!  But again my hair is on the drier side during Winter as well
as Summer and everyone's hair and scalp are different, what works for me
may not work for someone else or what works for them may not work for
me!

Oh, and I have sensitive skin and I've never had a skin or
scalp reaction to this, which is another reason I love it, plus the
brand is still Cruelty-Free!

Review for Alba Botanica Hawaiian Natural Sunscreen with Green Tea - 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Having sensitive skin and the fact that I prefer Cruelty Free skin care, beauty as well as personal care items, I often have a hard time finding products that fit the bill so to speak. Plus, when I do find a product it may smell horrid, or make my skin freak out!

Then came Alba Sunscreen. I've been using Alan's eye gel as well as Shampoo and Conditioner for several years now and love them. But, I had never considered Alba for sunscreen, well it's been 3 years and I haven't looked back!

I really like the smell and texture, it doesn't have your typical sunscreen smell, it leaves my skin feeling soft, it works, it's affordable and Cruelty Free!

Now like with any other sunscreen I do reapply after being in water or sweating, but so far, it's been great for me and I hope they continue to make it!!

Review for Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey - 4 months, 1 week ago
Gentleman Jack isn't your Jack and Cola or Whisky Cake kind of Whisky, it's a smooth, smoky, flavorful kind of Whisky that's meant for sipping or shots!  Some like their Gentleman Jack with a splash of water or some sort of chaser, but I prefer mine straight up and Gentleman Jack is everything I look for in a Whisky!
Review for Grey Goose l'ORANGE Vodka - 4 months, 1 week ago
I like a good Vodka Martini, however every now and then I like to change it up a bit and have an Espresso Martini or Chocolate Martini and sometimes I like to use the Orange with the Chocolate for a nice evening Martini with a nice Chocolate dessert.  It honestly adds this hint of Orange that pairs well with Chocolate!
Review for Urban Decay Afterglow Blush - 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Along with the Urban Decay Highlighter in Aura, I also own this blush in Rapture it is one of my favs. The color is beautiful, easily buildable, however, I didn't notice it lasting for 8 hours.   I really like how it pairs with the Urban Decay Highlighter, I just wish it lasted a bit longer!

Review for Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter - 4 months, 3 weeks ago
I own this in Aura and for me, it's a highlighter that always gets me compliments that I have this ethereal glow.  It's a beautiful color, not glittery, just a soft shimmer glow!   Plus, I like how it wears and doesn't dry my skin out, nor does it irritate my sensitive dry skin!
