One half of the Beauty Blackout = aka the one that lives in Singapore. Why beauty blackout? Because we get blackout on beauty (high end, no drugstore, sorry.) Beauty without the BS, honest reviews and a blog for people who actually want to read intelligent (occasionally witty) content. There are a dire lack of beauty blogs that fit that description in my not so humble opinion.
I’m mixed race, halfway through my 20s and have a lipstick collection that will outlive me by far.
Good detangling mist probably best suited to fine-normal hair types. It's a bit too lightweight for my thick wavy hair and I prefer the Sachajuan Leave In Conditioner 8.4 oz to this mist. The Christophe Robin is still nice though, pleasantly scented and doesn't contain any nasty ingredients.
I really, really like this formula and have been reaching for it almost as much as my Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation recently. It provides a similar level of coverage - sheer but buildable up to light. I prefer keeping my base sheer and don't mind some imperfections showing through. For those who want more coverage, this is probably not ideal. However, this is fantastic if you just want to even out your complexion and add a touch of glowy radiance. I use this in the shade 'Light' which is a good match for my cool toned, N12 skin. I wear 012 or 002 in the Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation btw Highly recommended and I hope Chanel makes this permanent!
I have the Surratt Lid Lacquer in the shades Kira Kira and Satou Ume. I find Kira Kira more emollient and it's hard to wear except on its own - it basically causes makeup to migrate and slide everywhere. It's a translucent clear gloss with shimmer shot through. Satou Ume is a delicate cooler plum which is less emollient and more wearable imo. These work best on non oily eyelids and expect some migration. Beautiful and innovative product though.
Very thick and greasy with a strong scent. Doesn't absorb as easily as the diptyque Eau Rose Hand Cream 1.7oz which I very much prefer. This could be good for extremely dry hands and feet during the winter because it has a balm like consistency. Overall, I wouldn't recommend for most people and the price is steep.
Fantastic conditioner which I can't recommend highly enough. I use the regular version sgd have been amazed at its ability to tame my hair and reduce flyaways I love it paired with the original Rahua conditioner. They are easy to work wi6( unlike most organic products.
I really enjoy this product and think it's a great option for anyone looking for sheer to light coverage, that is ever so slightly buildsbke. This product comes in three shades only (I wear Light) and some even it is sheer, I find this to be unproblematic we it's goal is to even, not cover. Great for simmers and hotter, stickler weather.
This is a a lovely day time moisturiser that offers the slightest hint of coverage for fair to medium skin tones. As only one shade is available, I don't recommend this as a base product nor for people looking for a product with buildable coverage. This simply evens out skin and gives it a nice glow. The amount of plant oils makes this a product worth patch testing first if you have sensitive skin. I did not experience any issues but I wasn't blown away enough to repurchase.
I just switched over to the Rind Concentrate Body Balm after finishing my bottle of Geranium Leaf Body Balm - 500ml/16.67oz by Aesop. I really loved the Geranium Leaf so I was prepared to be disappointed but I think I actually prefer the Rind Concentrate. It sinks in better (i think the texture is a little lighter which is better for humid climates and summer weather) and it smells so refreshing. The price does sort of kill me though - I held out for ages on buying pricey body creams because I literally slather the stuff on and I figured the money was better spent on my face. I caved eventually and, predictably, I'm now spoiled for life from the drugstore products. Ah well!
A thoroughly mediocre body wash if ever there was one and the main selling point - the Oribe signature scent - failed to impress me. (Honestly, I found this quite generic smelling). You get a nice big bottle, there are sulfates and it lasted me about 2-3 months with twice daily use. I did not repurchase and have no plans to do so.
