Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is amazing!! I’ve tried lots of products in an attempt to get rid of my whiteheads, including harsh chemicals like benzoyl peroxide. This is the only the one that made a significant difference. It dries out your biggest pimples in only a few days. Don’t let the price tag scare you; the bottle of lotion may be small but is highly effective.
While this facial scrub was okay, it was not fabulous. It exfoliates a little bit, enough to make your face feel clean but not enough to smooth out rough patches or give you a glow. I think people are better off not buying this, especially since St. Ives tests on animals.
Burt’s Bees Is the best lip balm I’ve ever used. This is my Holy Grail for the moment. It’s incredibly moisturizing and you don’t have to reapply it as much as other brands, such as Eos. When I first got it it went on a little dry, but I think that was just because it was a little waxy in top. I gave it a chance and boy oh boy did it pay off.
Burt's Bees Vanilla Bean Lip Balm is the best lip balm I’ve ever used. This is my Holy Grail for the moment. It’s incredibly moisturizing and you don’t have to reapply it as much as other brands, such as Eos. It smells amazing as well. When I first got it it went on a little dry, but I think that was just because it was a little waxy on top. I gave it a chance and boy oh boy did it pay off.
LUSH Mask of Magnaminty feels fabulous and effectively gets rid of large whiteheads (but not small spots or blackheads). I should start off by saying that I have oily skin with some small zits, so I think this mask might make more of a difference if you have cystic acne. First of all, the mask is super easy to apply. While it definitely has some chunks that are larger than what you might see in a typical face mask, they didn’t cause a problem. The second thing I liked about this mask is that it mattified my skin. My face is constantly oily, and this mask seemed to remove that oil for about a day before it started to get bad again. The third thing I liked about this mask is that it gets rid of large whiteheads. If you want to use this mask to clear a whitehead, leave it on for an hour or two INSTEAD of the recommended 5-10 minutes. I found that the mask was able to dry out those bigger pimples almost instantly. Buy this mask! Your skin will thank you :)
This product does an amazing job of removing the grease from my oily hair. I have found that “normal” shampoos intended for straight hair don’t work on curls, but OGX Coconut Curls delivers. My hair always looks clean now, and it also smells great because this shampoo has a subtle coconut scent. Buy this!! It’s a steal at about 7 dollars a bottle and can be purchased in most drugstores.
Essie Nail Polish in Wicked is a gorgeous deep burgundy shade with black undertones. It has the best texture of all the nail polishes I’ve used; it’s very smooth and doesn’t dry too fast or too slowly. The applicator is nice in general but I wish it was thinner and more narrow so it would be easier to paint the corners of my nails. Overall, this polish is a winner but you have to be careful with it and apply it a little bit at a time.
This product keeps my lips moisturized and does what a chapstick is supposed to do. However, I find the texture to be different from other flavors and very off-putting. It goes on too thick when applied and gives me an unpleasant tingling sensation on my lips, probably due to the peppermint oil. Eos fans should avoid this balm.
I received this as part of a duo from Sephora. It was a free birthday gift, so I figured I might as well try it out. At first, I was impressed by the glowing quality it gave my skin. Unfortunately, that glow came at the price of clear skin. After a few days of using this serum, I began to have a disgusting breakout of whiteheads all over my face. This is not worth oily skin, especially since the full the full size of Radiance Serum is $80. Unacceptable. Please don’t buy this!!
MAC Lipstick in “Twig” is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants a pop of color that isn’t overly dramatic. Though the shade “Twig” isn’t exactly a nude, it‘s close to being one. It‘s a berry color with brown undertones that I think looks good on a lot of people. I like using it to emphasize the pink notes in my skin when I’m already wearing something pink. It also works well with black and white clothing. My main issues with this lipstick are its lack of pigmentation and tendency to rub off quickly. It takes a bunch of applications of “Twig” to make the color visible. Unfortunately, all those applications soon go to waste if you eat or use your mouth while wearing the lipstick. I recommend wearing this lipstick for dances and parties, but not every day unless you enjoy having to constantly re-apply your makeup.
