I'm a creative lady who loves to try the latest and greatest and everything in between.
New experiences motivate me, and I love sharing the stuff I love with friends and family. I'm a daughter, sister, girlfriend, and friend to some great people.
A writer by trade. If you need me, you'll usually find me writing, discovering a new show on Netflix, reading a book, or in the kitchen.
I bought this product after receiving a sample. The texture is great, it’s creamy and you can definitely tell it’s moisturizing. The exfoliation is effective without being too rough, and the moisture lasts. One of my favorite ways to use this is to rub it all over my legs to exfoliate the skin and moisturize them and instead of just rinsing I use the product on my legs to shave, then rinse. Another one of my favorite things about this body polish is that the formula is thick and moisturizing without being greasy and full of oil like a lot of scrubs are. This helps because I can use this, rinse it off, and not have a slippery oil slick at the bottom of my shower. I’ve already recommended this to two people and this has a place in my routine now.
I’m a big fan of lemon and I love these exclusive flavors every year, so it’s no surprise I had to try these Peeps. The flavor is sweet, lemony, but not too sweet and the white fudge dip on the bottom complements rather than adding too much sweetness. These might be the best of these limited Target exclusive flavors that I’ve tried. I’m not sure if it’s exactly “lemon sorbet” but they’re pleasantly tasty lemon flavored treats that I will miss when they’re gone.
I loved this. I bought a small travel sized can to try and will be buying a full size. Some mornings, especially in the winter, it's too cold to wash my hair, but I was too tired to do it at night. I tried this product to help tame my needs-washing hair, but also to use on dry hair to refresh my style and give me a little lift. I have long har that can be frizzy and somewhat fine, so volume and keeping things in place matter to me. It does well on refreshing things, and does it with a pleasant scent and treats my dark brown hair well too. I love that it's affordable too.
This conditioner is weird. That's the first impression, because it does feel like you're bringing a bottle of mousse into the shower with you. Once you get past that, though, this is definitely different.
I'm writing this review after three uses of both shampoo and conditioner.
Although this conditioner does look and dispense like mousse (and actually has ingredients similar to that of my Herbal Essences mousse which I checked to compare), it behaves differently. This is a conditioner, after all. Dispense it in your hand, and press your hands together to distribute it through your hair. Unlike mousse, it doesn't collapse into itself, it becomes a foam conditioner that you can then apply over your hair. It doesn't lather like a traditional conditioner, but the foam does spread into exactly where it has to go.
Overall, my hair feels light and my fine-medium wavy hair is not weighed down. My one quibble might be that this formulation contains alcohol, which could be drying. But I have not encountered any drying (the opposite, really). This foam conditioner might be weird, but it works.
When I saw micellar water in shampoo, I wondered if it was just a weird gimmick or not. Micellar water has been great for removing makeup and skincare, but I was glad to get to test this shampoo out. I'm writing this review after three uses of both shampoo and conditioner. First of all, I've been buying Herbal Essences for a long time, and this does not disappoint. The scent is pleasant and lasts, and importantly, my hair feels light, is clean, and whatever oil that had collected or residue from adding product, is gone. The light feeling is great since I have fine-medium wavy hair, and it's easy to weigh down. But this leaves my hair feeling light and looking good.
I bought this product because I was looking for a silicone-free foundation or B.B. cream to give me the coverage I needed while not breaking me out. The first thing you might notice about this product is that it has a slightly weird smell when you first open it and squeeze it out. Luckily, as soon as you start to blend it, that dissipates and it gains a light almost citrus scent that is pleasant.
You will have to blend this thoroughly. This is not something you just put on, smooth quickly and walk away. I apply with my fingers, and then I blend it out until it’s a very thin layer using a stippling brush, then finishing and smoothing it out with my fingers.
To finish, I like to use a mineral finishing powder applied with a fluffy brush and setting spray. If I set it right,I can get through a day at work with it. A little goes a long way!
I have combination skin, and even when wearing this, my nose sometimes needs to be blotted. Otherwise, The only thing that bothers me is a very slight white cast from the mineral, physical sunscreen. What helps for me, is to wear blush to bring a little color to my face to counter it.
These are so effective. I got these in the Playa VoxBox and it was in the summer. I have wavy hair that is no stranger to frizz. I picked one day where I had been outside in the hot summer sun walking around and sweating, my hair frizzing up and looking a mess. I used one of these towelettes and immediately noticed that they are not greasy to the touch.
I slid it over my frizzy hair and immediately it began to calm right down. These are convenient to use and store in your bag with no mess for situations where you need to clean up on the go or from morning to afternoon or evening at work or for after-work fun.
My hair is wavy but also medium texture, so too much oil could weigh it down, but this left my hair shiny and smooth without weighing my hair down. I am sold.
I'm going to start off by saying that I'm not usually a fan of hot sauce or, hot flavors in general. Often, they are vinegary and can be overwhelming, but I also love to try new things. This was sent to me for free in a VoxBox, and I was glad to receive the chance to try. Since I make lots of chicken, I decided to try it on a chicken breast and on a bit of scrambled eggs.
The flavor here was balanced, and the sauce itself had a good texture. It's not watery or thick, it's a good saucy consistency. While I'm not going to become a regular hot sauce user, you can still get good flavor here on your favorite foods from a more subtle kick to full-on flavor.
I found these in store today and had to buy them. I love sweet potatoes, and these are my favorite chips, so combining them sounded like a winner. And it was! They are crunchy and have a sweet note that combines in the chips for a very pleasant snack that is different than the other flavors.
I have eaten sweet potato versions of various chips, including potato chips and other snacks, but these are my favorite and whenever I see them, I will try to pick up another bag. I can still find them in my local store, and it seemed like a new product so I’m not sure why it is listed as discontinued, but I hope that’s not the case because I love these.
Great Lash mascara has been a bestselling staple product for decades, and it does have staying power. I had the opportunity to test the formula in Royal Blue for free thanks to Influenster and Maybelline.
I have used Great Lash before, and it is a reliable mascara for your drugstore makeup shopping needs. The blue color is visible clearly on the brush, which may be a little shorter than some are used to, but don't worry, apply it and wiggle it through your lashes, and it will give you separation and some lift. The blue adds a fun pop of color to the formula, which lets you apply a couple of coats before it dries.
A few things I noticed:
- The blue is fun, but never overpowering. However, as a dark brunette, this limits the way the color shows on my lashes. But this makes it infinitely more wearable in any situation. I wore mine to work, to spend time with friends, and while running errands.
When you have dark hair, you might think your only mascara options are black or brown, but nope!
- On me, the mascara color showed up best in the light and from the side. However, the lash separation, lift, and formula lasted through my day until I took my makeup off at night. I used a little setting spray on my makeup.
I am taking off one star for the difference in how much color wear you can expect from this product. Blondes and other light-haired folks will see the most payoff, but it's still fun for those of us with dark hair. Especially since it is wearable all over.
- Included in the package I received was a waterproof Unstoppable pencil liner in Onyx, which I will review separately, but it may be my new favorite drugstore pencil liner. It stays where many smudge badly.
