I'm a travel writer with an interest in Disney and other themed places, although the wanderlust takes me to many places.
Have coffee, will travel. Especially coffee with dessert.
I'm also a pop-culture geek, runner, amateur photographer, chocolate snob and sometime foodie.
Trivia: I collect movie quotes & to-do lists.
When I run, I sweat...a lot. My headphones used to slip out a lot, too, and I was constantly adjusting and reinserting them on my runs. But ever since learning about Yurbuds at a runDisney race, and giving them a try, I've been able to concentrate on the quality of my stride and not the quality of my sound or earbud slippage. That alone makes Yurbuds worth the price for me - and I recommend other runners give them a try.
This is good for those looking for fairly light coverage but some color. It's lightweight and not greasy. But for me, it left my face a little shinier than I'd like, and I had breakouts after a week of use. I like Aveeno products generally, and haven't had too many problems using the brand with my sensitive skin. But this one wasn't a winner for me. Pity, because I liked that it had SPF.
The convenience of Frontier Garam Masala spice blend really works for my cooking needs. I use it in a variety of Indian dishes, especially with my slow cooker recipes where I just want to throw ingredients together quickly for a no-fuss meal. I always have a few bottles of garam masala on hand.
We use lots of of nutmeg in our cooking, especially during the fall season and holiday periods. While I always prefer fresh-ground nutmeg, I do appreciate the convenience of Badia's spices. And the price point can't be beat. So for quick cooking, bulk batches, and recipes in which the nutmeg can take a bit of a backseat, I choose Badia.
We love the Echinacea tea from Celestial Seasonings, especially during autumn and winter for the cold and flu season. It offers a mild taste, though I like to add honey to it, and I like to think it does a body good. It's difficult to find in my area, though, which is a pity. Other teas just aren't the same.
Loreal's Instance Radiance B & B offers very light coverage. It goes on smooth, blends well, feels smooth and has a moisturizing effect that lasts the whole day. It also has sunscreen. The fragrance is a little strong for my preference, and the "radiance" needs powder to keep my face from looking too shiny. In terms of coverage, this B&B achieves a natural look on my fair, freckled skin. It doesn't do much to even my skin tone. I used it as a moisturizers/sunscreen rather than as a B&B cream proper.
United offers a number of destinations that I travel to regularly, usually at similar price points to other airines. In my experience, their boarding policies and on-time arrival records are good. The flight and gate attendants have been efficient and sometimes friendly. But United flights are often cramped, with plane configurations designed to maximize the number of passengers that can be crammed onto a flight. The baggage fees mean customers will try to carry on as much luggage as possible, and United employees don't consistently enforce their policies. And there's an ever-increasing impression that United follows a nickel-and-diming structure - for instance, by offering snacks and meals for sale, or TV/wifi, or seat upgrades- that contributes to air travel as a a functional but not pleasant travel experience. United is not the only carrier to offer cramped conditions, baggage fees or endless fees , of course, but its policies do represent the dismal trends of the whole. And United deserves the criticism for its contributions to these trends, instead of finding ways to make air travel more pleasant experience for all.
Auntie Anne's is one of those airport comfort foods for me - something about the smell of a fresh pretzel. I can't claim they're particularly healthy (although certainly not as unhealthy as other airport food options) but they certainly make delays a little more palatable. My favorites are the original, in either the twist, stix or nugget forms - although the raisin or cinnamon sugar versions are a breakfast treat!
I generally like Garnier's skin products, but the BB cream just doesn't work for me. It provides nice, light coverage and is priced well as a drugstore brand. But doesn't match my skin tone, and tends to give me an orange-ish look. It is also too oily for my dry-to-combination skin, and with just a few days use my skin started to break out.
