The component and packaging are the great Essie standard, but this base just peels too badly in a day or two. Not ideal for a lasting manicure. The ridge filling aspect is also minimal, would say to save your money on this and just use the regular Essie base coat.

i have a lot of deep ridges/dents in my nails, from daily wear and tear to other medical issues. i got this smoothing base a couple months ago and have used it every two weeks to do my nails. i prep my nails by buffing the top layer a tiny bit to get rid of shininess, then apply one to two layers. sometimes i’ll wear it by itself and that works great too, it’s lasted about 2 weeks now with very minimal chipping, even without a top coat! i love that it dries semi-matte so you can tell when it’s no longer wet/when it’s safe to apply another layer on top. highly recommend

It is very convenient to go to bed with it without making a sharp smell. Dries quickly. And it strengthens nails perfectly. It is removed with ease without difficulty
