I am an organic chemist who loooves makeup and fashion as a creative outlet. I have a large, fluffy dog named Henry who brings me joy and somehow gets cuter every day. I find the world of makeup to be a great sanctuary for de-stressing, being creative, and getting to know great people.
I've only been using this for about a week now and still can't believe I splurged but have no regrets so far. It feels really lightweight and refreshing on my skin, and I've not noticed it breaking me out at all...though I am expecting purging (though it hasn't happened yet). I also didn't notice a smell at all but 1) I've been sick and 2) I'm a chemist so my nose is already destroyed.
After using this for several days despite being really ill, my boyfriend commented that I looked like I was glowing as if I had highlight all over my face. But I had zero makeup on and the only thing different in my routine was this...sooo so far my skin is loving this! I'm really enjoying it. Really expensive though....
I bought this because reviews suggested using this if you also use tretinoin (which makes your skin quite red). I use a spatula to scoop out some product, slather it on my face, and wash off later to reveal calmed skin. With continued use, I think my face will be very very happy! A little goes a long way! I do wish the packaging came with a little plastic spatula to get out the product...but I had one laying around anyway!
This is my absolute favorite gel eyeliner. I had only used drugstore ones before, but I bought this on a whim one day and never want to try another. It stays on my lid without smudging all day, and it never leaves my waterline. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a really long-wearing matte eyeliner.
I like using this brush to apply certain blushes that I want diffused over a larger area. This brush is quite large, but it does a great job of blending the blush during application and not applying too much at any one time. I also love how soft it is, and I've not experienced any shedding with this blush brush at all. I especially use this brush when I apply MAC Pink Swoon or Gingerly because it seems to work really well for me with those particular colors.
I bought these from Amazon and am slowly trying to expand my brush collection. These do shed quite a bit at first, but I don't notice a lot of shedding anymore. I use several of the eye brushes every single day - in particular the tapered blending brush, small tapered blending brush, and tapered smudge brush. I use the blush brush on days when I'm using a more muted or less pigmented blush because it packs on the color. I recommend this for anyone who's looking for a decent brush set without breaking the bank.
I caved and got my first beauty blender. I had used a few other sponges before, but I finally decided to try this. I was really amazed at how much the beauty blender expands with water AND how soft it is. It also didn't absorb or remove my makeup like very other sponge did. I honestly didn't expect much from this at all because while other people raved about I just didn't trust them....so I was pleasantly surprised and am soooo happy.
Also, if you have a problem with your dog's hair embedding itself in all of your foundation brushes, making your foundation application a little itchy and with hair all over your face....then I recommend the beauty blender. It's nice having a hairless application. It's the solution to applying makeup around a large, fluffy Newfoundland.
I use this brush whenever I do a cream contour or want to apply cream blushes. It's really easy to use for those purposes because it blends the creams really easily without losing the pigmentation. I don't use it every day, but I do use it several times per week. It could be used for foundation and concealer as well, but I find that my face gets itchy when I use stippling brushes, potentially because dog hair likes to find its way into them so that I start stippling dog hair....#embarrassing
I use this every single day. My main use for this brush is setting my undereye concealer, whether wiping away a bake, applying a bake, or just setting with some banana powder. I sometimes use it to set certain areas of my face, such as my forehead, nose, cheeks, etc. The size is just perfect. I have been considering buying another (or a few), but I don't want to have multiples of the exact same brush....kind of like I don't like having the same shirt in multiple colors. Is that weird? Maybe. But I love it so I might buy more anyway...
I have one of these palettes in a different shade. I don't know the name of it, but it is hot pink and purple. I was pleasantly surprised by the pigmentation and performance of these eye shadows. I originally bought it for my Cheshire Cat costume a year ago, and it was the only drugstore eyeshadow palette at the time that had those bright pink and purple colors. I don't use it on a daily basis because they're so vibrant, but I will be using it again for Halloween this year!
