Review for Herbal Essences Bourbon Manuka Honey Shampoo - 3 months, 1 week ago

This product was received complementary for testing purposes and reviews are completely my own.

I’ve thoroughly been enjoying using Herbal Essences new Bio:Renew shampoo in the Bourbon Manuka Honey range. My hair is short, fine, and very thin (unfortunate genetics), and so I tend to wash my hair more often than I should just because it gets so oily so quickly. Due to this and to the cold Canadian winter we’re having, I felt like my hair had become super dull and lifeless. It’s dried out and in desperate need of some moisture and protection.

Since using this range for about two weeks now, I’ve noticed such a drastic change to its vibrancy and shine. Not only does it smell amazing (my favourite perfume at the moment is actually the Bourbon one from Elizabeth and James), I’ve truly felt that it did just as it said it would and rejuvenated my hair. It’s so much softer, shinier, bouncy, and so easy to style. Not to mention that this range is created with antioxidants and absolutely no parabens, silicones, colourants, or even gluten. The majority of the ingredients are naturally derived too, so I don’t feel bad about washing it every other day. Unlike other shampoos, it’s not stripping whatsoever.

Pictures don’t do it justice, but you can see how the light catches the hair and shines. I promise I don’t have any dye or highlights in my hair but it’s given it dimension and life. I’m thoroughly impressed and plan on repurchasing when I run out.

Review for Herbal Essences Bourbon Manuka Honey Conditioner - 3 months, 1 week ago

This product was received complementary for testing purposes and reviews are completely my own.

Paired with the shampoo is the matching Bourbon Manuka Honey Conditioner. Just to note again, my hair is pretty thin and prone to get oily quicker than most. Given that I clean my hair more frequently and use lots of dry shampoo, it’s gotten so dull and dry this winter season. So, I tend to focus the conditioner on the ends of my hair to protect them against heat damage and fraying without weighing my hair down.

I’ve also been thoroughly enjoying using this conditioner as a stay-in mask for about 10 minutes in the shower too. I won’t usually do this often, probably about once a week or so, but I’ll apply a generous amount all over my hair and put it up while I finish up in the shower. After, I’ll rinse it all off and my hair feels so soft and luxurious. Not to mention that it smells divine so long after I’ve dried it too. These two products together have been working like a dream, and I truly believe that it’s added life and shine back into my hair. Definitely repurchasing once I’m out.

Pictures don’t do it justice, but you can see how the light catches the hair and shines. This is my natural colour too and it looks as if this range has added dimension without having to put in any low or highlights.

Review for: Arriba!, Creeper more...
I purchased Arriba and Creeper when they were on sale for $4.20 because I desperately needed a bright red liquid lipstick. I was on the fence between them and thought, what the heck for that price it's best to try them both out. They are both the perfect red shades on my skintone. Creeper looks more bright in the tube but I swear they are identical on. I couldn't tell them apart. Both are not too bright, not too dark and pop with my olive undertones amazingly. The formula is super long lasting as well (I'm a big fan of Colourpop's light formula). I don't think they're that overly drying on my lips, but then again I only wear these out for special occasions or nights out. I decided to keep Arriba for myself and pass Creeper along to my cousin. But no regrets, they are both stunning reds.

My new fave deodorant. I've been really into sprays recently and thought to give this one a go since it looked pretty new. Yes, the scent is not as sweet as you think it would be but honestly I prefer it that way and I don't think it's manly at all. It's super long lasting on me too, and the bottle itself has lasted me quite a long time. I've never had a problem with transfer or anything either. I much prefer it over the Dove or Degree sprays (which I think smell horrendous).

Review for: Devotion more...
Perhaps it's the darker shade and the thick applicator, but I find this liquid lipstick to be underwhelming. It's streaky on me every time and it's so hard to get a precise application. So I continue to add layers to try and fix the patchiness only to get it thick and tacky, unable to be dried down. I have the shade Devotion and it's a gorgeous darker red. I had high hopes.

Review for LUSH Big Sea Salt Shampoo - 5 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 3
I've only been using the sample size that was given to me from one of the lovely Lush workers but I can fairly say that it's one of the best things I've tried from Lush yet. You feel and see a noticeable difference to your hair volume after 1 use. The salt beads aren't too harsh on my scalp and it leaves your hair so nice and smooth. Looking forward to trying the full size soon.

Bow N Arrow is the liquid lipstick equivalent to Mac's Velvet Teddy lipstick. Both are classic neutral nude lip shades that should be a staple in everyone's makeup collection. It's a light, quick-drying formula, never tacky, and lasts the longest out of all the different brands I've tried. Price is one of the best and fairest on the market. Love this guy.

Review for Glossier Flavored Balm Dotcom Trio - 5 months ago

I decided to go ahead and order this stuff from all the great reviews I found here. I ended up buying the birthday and coconut ones. I am really pleasantly surprised with the formula and flavors. They’re really nice lip balms (I don’t use them for any other purpose) and look to last me quite a while. I do wish they had a better lip applicator though.

It wasn’t the best product for me. I haven’t really discovered the best way for application. I’ve used a sponge, my fingers and a brush and I still find that it either goes on too strongly or it wipes away my foundation underneath. The colour ‘dusk’ is really nice though.
