This is something I had been hearing great things about from the acne community. I wasn't sure it was for me as I can barely get rid of my acne quicker with really expensive masks and skincare. But as I get older I get increasingly worried about aging. I would rather prevent than actively treat wrinkles since there's never been a scientifically proven something you can put on your face to get rid of wrinkles and about the only thing that can is medical. So anyway, like I said my theory is prevention. I have extremely oily skin with hormonal acne that isn't severe but it is constant. I have acne scarring and large pores and light smile lines starting at my eyes. My face is so oily that I have to use 2 to 4 large blotting sheets every hour if I don't use any serious mattifying products. So I use the Korean 10 step skincare method. So I use a mattifying toner (Sunday Riley Martian gel) after an acne toner like Clearogen or clinique clarifying lotion 3 then after martian I am trying my serum and then I use a moisturizer that also mattifys me (glamglow volcasmic). Then I use a mattifying primer as well like cover fx blemish control, boscia white charcoal, too faced primed and poreless and a few more. Some serums still make me super oily and are super heavy despite being day serum and some can work with my routine without counteracting everything. This one wasn't the worst but despite every thing it was still able to make me pretty oily pretty immediately. It also gave me two white head type zits overnight. Hadn't experienced that side effect yet. My pimples are usually big, sometimes cystic and they come in slowly and grow and are substantial because they are coming from the inside. There is no outside treatment that can cure them from the outside of my skin. That wasn't the case with these two though. They were very superficial and not something my skin would do on it's own since that's not my reason for acne (food, dirty face, clogged pores from not exfoliating or washing enough, etc.) Also from the research I did, and I know how finicky vitamin c serums are, this isn't a good one. Vitamin c serum needs to be in an opaque air tight bottle. This is air tight but its transparent. The light that gets in kills any vitamin c that may actively help. And not just that but it has a scientifically proven irritating plant extract and fragrance which has been proven to not only irritate but cause advanced and early ageing. And trust me I love fragrance. I'm no granola muncher at all. But according to science, no matter how good it smells it shouldn't be rubbed all over your face but instead placed on sensual points behind the ears and on the wrists, and if I'm honest I spray it on my chest and clothes daily but never on my face. Basically for the price there's better vitamin c and collagen boosters out there like one that keeps winning and showing up at the top of lists that I personally love and spent 88 dollars on a set where this was the only full size thing since this was the reason I bought it, so basically paid full price ($80 for 1 oz) for it. The Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum is amazing. I thought most of their products were just hyped up bs like a lot of skincare and makeup since it got trendy but if a sample pack and 3 days can make me spend that kind of money its got to be as amazing as everyone says and this truth serum sadly is not. It made me more oily despite mattifying products that can always control my extreme oily face below and on top of the serum. It broke me out. And it did nothing it promised at the end of my small bottle. For what this costs I not only expect real science and correct packaging but also real results and this gives neither so sadly I cannot recommend
As a HUGE fan of skincare, I am always on the lookout for the next brand and/or product to try. Thus, when I had received my Voxbox from Influenster, I must have been hiding under a rock all this time as I was surprised to find that E.L.F Cosmetics actually had a skincare line! Within that box was the E.L.F. Hydrating Bubble Mask and couldn't have been more excited to try it out! I've heard many things about "bubble masks" and even have a competitor K-Beauty brand that I've tried before and was curious to see how this had compared. After using this product, I can honestly say that this works amazingly in not only supplying more soft & supple skin, but also nourishing to the point where it feels satisfyingly hydrated! I like how the mask felt cod as I applied it across the skin & it was very smooth without any grit or beads like some mask products contain. Instantly, I began feeling the mask work it's magic in bubbling on my face so you do not have to wait 20-30 minutes to see results. The great thing about this mask is that while it bubbles, it does NOT make the product become thick. The weight stays the same in lightness and your skin does not feel weighed down. I've found with the other lead competitive "bubble mask" brands that the product would become thicker as it bubbled and this one actually felt quite light and refreshing! Overall, I great enjoyed this product and would consider purchasing it after using my full size sample from Influenster (especially with being marked at a great price)! However, I would note that there are a couple cons that I could found in this product (which is why I had marked one star off of the rating). These cons are not necessarily "deal breakers" but thought it would be good to mention. CON #1: The product dispenser. In my opinion, this is not the best way to disperse the product as you have to use two hands in squeezing down on the top lid. After squeezing a few times, the liquid comes out but gets all over the top and causes a little bit of a mess. I think having a regular squeeze bottle and/or at least having this product in a jar that you can scoop the product out with your fingers would be a better design as I wasn't too fond of the way we have to use this container to get the product out. CON #2: Face feels a little tight afterwards. I tend to get this with a lot of skincare products (especially masks) but thought it would be worth to mention that around 15 minutes later, my face felt very tight and needed to apply moisturizer. My skin did not feel dehydrated and the skin still felt hydrated within but the top layer of the skin felt a little off & always found myself having to apply moisturizer each time I used this product. This is something that I had experienced, however, and not everyone may find that this happens for this. Other than that, I really enjoyed this product and definitely recommend!
AMAZING!!!! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PRODUCT IS WONDERFUL. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY, UNLIKE A LOT OF OTHER MASKS. IT DRIES PRETTY QUICK WHICH IS ANOTHER THING I LOVE. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU NEED TO FEEL REFRESHED BUT DON'T HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO SIT AROUND TO PAMPER YOURSELF. SINCE IT'S ALSO A SCRUB, WASHING IT OFF IS JUST AS SOOTHING AND SATISFYING AS WHEN YOU FIRST APPLY IT. YOU DON'T NEED TO PUT ANY EFFORT INTO EXFOLIATING AS YOU'RE WASHING IT OFF EITHER. I'VE TRIED SEVERAL MASKS/EXFOLIANTS BUT NONE OF THEM HAVE COMPARED TO THIS PRODUCT. THIS LEAVES YOUR SKIN GLOWING, REFRESHED, TIGHTENED AND DEEPLY CLEANSED. A LOT OF EXFOLIATING PRODUCTS I'VE TRIED, LEAVE MY SKIN FEELING TIGHT (NOT IN A GOOD WAY) AND EXTREMELY DRY. I WAS ECSTATIC WHEN I USED THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME. NOT ONLY DID IT DO ALL THE THINGS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED BUT IT LEFT MY SKIN FEELING MOISTURIZED. I'VE GOTTEN FAMILY AND FRIENDS HOOKED ON THIS PRODUCT. MY HUSBAND ISN'T THE TYPE TO USE "BEAUTY" PRODUCTS BUT THIS IS ONE HE DOESN'T MIND USING. I HAVE GIVEN SO MANY LITTLE SAMPLE CONTAINERS TO FAMILY/FRIENDS THAT DON'T BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL THEM HOW AMAZING THIS PRODUCT REALLY IS. I LOVE GETTING TEXTS/PHONE CALLS THANKING ME FOR INTRODUCING THEM TO THEIR NEW MUST HAVE PRODUCT. SIDE NOTE: I'M AWARE THE BODY SHOP SELLS SAMPLE PACKS. HOWEVER, MOST PEOPLE ARE SKEPTICAL WHEN I TELL THEM HOW WONDERFUL THIS PRODUCT TRULY IS AND WOULD REFUSE TO "WASTE" MONEY ON A SAMPLE. NO EXCUSE NOT TO TRY, IF I HAND THEM A LITTLE CONTAINER WITH ENOUGH OF MY PERSONAL PRODUCT. WHY DO I CARE? BECAUSE CONFIDENT PEOPLE ARE HAPPY PEOPLE AND HAPPY PEOPLE SPREAD HAPPINESS. I WOULD SUGGEST AVOIDING: 1) IF YOU HAVE BAD ACNE AND ANY OPEN SORES 2) THE EYE AREA!
Generic "floral" I BOUGHT THIS BASED ON ALL THE GOOD REVIEWS, BUT TO ME IT IS JUST OK. I TEND TO PREFER VERY CLEAN/LIGHT FLORAL SCENTS (I WORE PHILOSOPHY'S "GRACE" LINE FOR 10+ YEARS). DESPITE THE NAME, THIS SMELLS NOTHING LIKE GARDENIAS OR GARDENIA-ESQUE SCENTS (WHICH I LOVE). THERE IS NOTHING TERRIBLY UNIQUE OR SPECIAL ABOUT THE SCENT; TO ME IT IS A VERY GENERIC, DRUGSTORE FLORAL. THERE IS A HINT OF HERBAL/CITRUS (THE "MARIGOLD" PART PERHAPS?) WHEN I FIRST APPLY IT BUT THAT DISSIPATES FOR ME ON THE DRY DOWN. IT ALSO HAS NO STAYING POWER ON ME (ONLY LASTS ABOUT AN HOUR) BUT PERHAPS THAT IS BECAUSE I HAVE THE ROLLERBALL? THIS WAS ACTUALLY A GOOD THING BECAUSE I FOUND THE SCENT TO BE A BIT CLOYING AFTER A WHILE. AT THIS PRICE POINT I DON'T MIND HAVING TO REAPPLY A SCENT BUT NOTHING ABOUT IT COMPELS ME TO WANT TO REAPPLY IT EITHER. I ONLY PURCHASED THE ROLLERBALL (GOOD WAY TO TRY BEFORE COMMITTING TO A FULL BOTTLE) SO THIS WASN'T EXACTLY A BIG INVESTMENT. I WILL LIKELY GIVE IT AWAY OR TOSS IT IN MY WORK OR TRAVEL BAG. I PREFER MY SCENTS EITHER SUPER CLEAN OR A LITTLE MORE DISTINCTIVE SO I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT REPURCHASE.
Vera Wang Embrace Marigold & Gardenia The other fragrance sample included in my @Influenster #shimmervoxbox was #VeraWangEmbrace MarigoldandGardenia here are my thoughts on this fragrance VS. the #roseandvanilla I'm a very scent-oriented person so I can sense perfume and eau de toilette scent differences; their fragrance notes. This fragrance was very light in my opinion. I call it light because the fragrance was not deep and complex on my skin. I did not sense undertones in the scent as I wore this particular fragrance. It kept its sweet smell for a decent amount of time, but slowly disappeared after about 6 hours. It had a clean, but sharply sweet floral scent that I noticed after the alcohol in the spray dissipated. Now, I would not say it smelled of marigolds, but more reminiscent of daisies and sugared amber. I like the scent, but it doesn't evolve into a deeper scent that stays. I will try layering it over a similar scented lotion next time. Compared to the Embrace Rose and Vanilla, I choose the the Rose and Vanilla. I enjoyed the way the scent lasted and it had more complexity. I am a fragrance addict and am never one to discard or not use any #free perfume. #thank you #VWEmbraceXInfluenster #Influenster #ShimmerVIP #complimentary #contest @Influenster

This Olay lotion has a light fresh scent instead of the powdery smell some of their products contain. It is the same smell as their active botanicals line. I was hoping this lotion would lessen my red post acne marks but after three weeks of once daily use I haven't seen any change. The ingredients list doesn't seem to be as impressive as high end lotions from Sephora targeted to reduce hyper pigmentation, but I wanted to try this first due to the cost effective price. As a moisturizer it's great for my normal to dry skin. It's light in texture, only slightly thicker than a gel cream, sinks in quickly, does not leave a residue. Makeup looks very nice over top the few times I've used it in the morning, but mostly I use it at night. I'm not sure I would repurchase because it just seems too basic. The commercials on TV make me think the lotion would be shimmery or glowy because the models have a very luminous look to their skin and I was disappointing that this is just normal/clear.
I purchased this product last weekend in hopes of finding a product to replace my former that had been discontinued. I used it on Friday night for the first time. I repeated use morning and night as directed on the product. By Sunday I had an extreme headache, on Monday night I noticed a tenderness in my eye region as the headache continued but since it is winter, I wasn't too concerned. On Tuesday, the pain around my eyes increased and the headache continued. Finally, on Wednesday morning, I woke with red chemical burns in both eye regions. I immediately discontinued the product. It is not Thursday evening. My headache has finally subsided but the eye area continues to be red and painful. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. As the eye area continues to be in pain, I pray that my eyesight is not affected since I am a teacher and a mother and would not want to not be able to do my job or to see my beautiful children and grandchildren. I would not recommend this product to anyone. After reading that this has happened to others, I would seriously question first why this is still on the market at all and why it does not come with a warning.
My skin is usually oily and acne prone but in the winter and fall time it gets flaky and dry in some areas. This helps keep my skin moisturized. It hasn't done miracles to my skin. It smells like oranges but doesn't linger. I would buy it again if I don't find anything better.
