Hello! My name's Casey and I enjoy trying new beauty products and I must admit that I am a beauty addict. I have a really bad habit of spending lots of $$$ when I know something I buy is good quality. I'm obsessed with makeup most of all and I would love to create my own cosmetic line someday. I look forward to trying out new products and looking good.
I read about these and how they got good reviews. I've been meaning to try this formula out so I went to my nearest kohls from work and grabbed 2 (the tubes were in weird plastic security boxes cause women manage to open the tubes out of their boxes and swatch them, therefore drying them out/contaminating them. The colors I got were an everyday pinky nude called committed, and a sexy true red called loyal. I love how the names are named after traits of an ideal boyfriend, especially now that I'm single atm. The formula is one of the best I've ever tried, though it goes on streaky requiring more than one coat to make it even, and it does get sticky before it sets completely, and it dries to a transfer proof finish after it completely dries. I recommend it!
My boyfriend got me this for Christmas. Was a bit disappointed cause I thought it would look too dark on me. He wanted to get one for me so I can try out the formula. It is a bit dark on me in some light and more bright on me in the sun. I'd save it for something like a hot Valentine's Day date night where I would really get hot and heavy. It certainly lasts through a heavy makeout with none transferring to his lips which he was happy about that. I've heard it was really sticky but it is before it dries down, and the stick factor disappears, unlike the maybelline superstay matte ink which remains sticky long after it dries, which I was afraid it would be, but my fears were unfounded. I was worried that it would only be removed with the brands own lip whip remover but I found that the urban decay dissolving makeup spray easily took it off, and with coconut oil it does eventually get it off. And if you apply too much, it takes more time to dry, so apply thin coats (don't worry about the patchiness-it settles to full coverage) after each layer that dried
I remember getting a tube of this a year or so ago in kitten heels and I remember it being such a mess when applying it because it caked on easily and was tacky and never set to a matte finish cause of the tackiness. I decided to try it again after the new shades were released which means more often than not a reformulation as well. I got soft spoken as a good fall/winter everyday work nude pink color and kitten heels for a date night and holidays coming up. I apply it now and it's much more thin and smoothly applying and it now sets to a matte finish which is less tacky than it was previously. They're also really comfortable and it feels like nothing on my lips with less caking. I'm glad they redid their product cause it's so much better now!
I saw that the Walmart I went to with my bf who usually goes to this location had the whole shade range, so I decided to get these because I heard these dry completely and wanted to try them. I got the pinky nude shade forget me not and the classic red tulip shade. I tried on tulip and was really disappointed to know that these are more like soft matte cream lipstick in a tube and doesn't really dry down to a transfer proof matte, so I can't kiss my bf with it on unless he wants red lipstick all over his face. Plus if I put on a lot it cakes up uncomfortably on my inner lip line. I'd have to wear these when I'm not with my bf, so these are more for older ladies who have mature lined lips that drying matte lipstick makes them look worse. I do love the cute packaging and the colors tho
Meh, this is a hard pass for me.. It was an impulse buy to see how these fared compared to other brands of liquid lipstick and it didn't wow me. First layer wasn't nearly as opaque as I would've liked as it was really sheer and I had to apply several layers to get it more pigmented and opaque, which felt heavy and was a mess as it flaked off starting on my inner lips. I felt like I was using a ton of product in order to make my lipstick not looking patchy and sheer. The plus side is that I enjoyed that the balm came separate as I used it as a topcoat for maybellines superstay ink liquid lipstick to get rid of its stickiness after I blot it. There are other long lasting liquid lipcolors from other brands that are better than this one.
My boyfriend tried a sample of this after he first ordered razors from harrys shave club and he says it's amazing for his sensitive face that gets red and dries out, and he's been making his sample last. Since I have the same type of skin on my legs, I asked if he can order me a can to try it. I tried it out today and omg it's amazing. It says a lot that my legs skin is as thin and sensitive as a face. It was such a comfortable shave too, no burning and itching post razor swipe and glide, and the menthol in it soothes my legs post shave. It does foam, unlike the more expensive brand of shave cream that I've been using which costs me 15 bucks and only sold at a specialty adult store near me, and this was 7 bucks less. I'm glad I found a cheaper alternative to my shave cream although it smells like a men's cream it feels great.
After hearing the hype about this foundation, I decided to try it for myself. I had a MUA at the jcpenney sephora near me help apply it for me in 150(I'm a 1.1 in smash box and this is really close) and I'm really shook! It's so lightweight, doesn't make my face feel tight where I can't move it when I talk, and I can barely feel it on. Also it covers my imperfections with two coats cause I'm a bit blotchy and guess what? It doesn't look cakey and patchy! This will be really nice for my skin in the cooler weather when it's dehydrated and oily. I also love how affordable it is and how much you get for your money (a little over 1 oz-1.08!!! Compared to other high end brands, it's a huge steal! 34 bucks, 8 dollars less than my smashbox foundation at 42 bucks. This may be my new holy grail foundation. I went ahead and got it as well as the primer.. thank you RiRi for nailing the formula down on the head!
When I first got this in February at Ulta, it was absolute garbage. It felt like glue, was sticky throughout wear that it kept on lifting off color in patches when i stick my lips together and reopened them. There also wasn't enough product in the liner so I only used it a few times before it completely came off when I sharpened and looked down the pencil and was disappointed to see there wasn't any left. I threw it out altogether. Today, I learned that due to the number of complaints about the stickiness, they reformulated. I decided to get it again and give it another chance. I'm wowed. They redeemed themselves now. It's still a tiny bit sticky as it dries but it does dry this time to a less gluey texture, but waaaaay better than the first launch. Only gripe is that the liner is a brighter pink and slightly mismatched. But the applicator tip is small and thin enough to outline my lips with.
I heard about how great these are in a fb beauty page and I decided to try them out myself. Holy cow! I got pink really hard, which unfortunately shows up neon bright pink on my fair skin, and it applies streaky. I also got rebel rose, a great everyday/work soft neutral pink, and Missy and fierce, which is a sexy deep red that's reserved for sexy date nights. The formula is fantastic! It's really pigmented for one coat and it's so comfortable to the point where I can't feel it. Also it lasts really well and it's budge proof. I decided to test it's staying power through a dental night guard impression appointment and it mostly stayed on. It also fades off evenly and not flaky or comes off in obvious patches. High end quality liquid lipstick for under 5 bucks is awesome. I'll grab more when I run out!
