I’ve been considering getting one. Do you use it a lot or does it just sit on your counter?
We use ours the whole time! 3 or 4 times a week at least. When we bought it, I had the same fear as you, that it would just take up counter space but we use it to make soups, pasta dishes, curry, as a rice cooker, as a steamer. It’s so handy!

How does this compare to a traditional crock pot?
The Instant Pot is actually a pressure cooker so it works very differently than a crock pot. I have both but use them very differently. I use my crock pot for stew, chili, things like that. I use my Instant Pot for things that I would typically cook in an oven for longer periods like tough meat cuts, etc. You can do a lot of the typical crock pot things with this but I firmly believe that they are different enough to hold on to my crock pot.

What do you guys cook in your Instant Pot? Do you find that the taste changes, and if so for better or worse?
Pot roast, rice, pretty much anything! I use it like a crock pot post of the time and it works like a charm. When using rice I noticed I have to add a little extra water, but it’s a great dual purpose machine. Even hard boiled eggs in it once
