I had high hopes for this product, but it didn’t do anything for my skin. However, I have used stronger acids in my skincare routine so it’s probably not strong enough to make any noticeable changes to my skin texture or tone. This might be a good starter for someone new to skincare products that contain acids or someone with sensitive skin.

This is a very potent chemical exfoliator. I use it once a week to keep from over exfoliating. The next morning my skin is so smooth and glowing! This isn't a beginner product or for more sensitive skin but does a great job on my normal skin.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold is a thin, clear liquid treatment that I’ve lately been seeing touted as a best-seller for clear skin. Its formula uses 5% glycolic acid to help clear away buildups of old skin cells to reveal brighter skin and encourage cell renewal. Liquid Gold is a low-ph formula, and also includes other skin-boosting ingredients, such as licorice extract which can reduce dark spots and regulate oil production. Silk proteins are meant to help protect skin and retain moisture. I go back and forth between glycolic acid and lactic acid in terms of which works best for my skin. I can get an oily t-zone (especially in summer) but the rest of my skin tends to be drier, especially with every passing year. Sometimes glycolic works better for my skin congestion, sometimes lactic does, and however hard I’ve tried I can’t seem to find a consistent pattern. Overall, glycolic gets the edge, though. I use The Ordinary 7% Glycolic Toner, and find that works well for me most of the time. The % of acid is higher, and the cost is much lower than Alpha-H (240 ml (just over 8oz) for $8.70, compared to 3.38 fl oz $54.00). The pH is lower on the Alpha-H (2.8 - 3.0, compared to The Ordinary’s 3.5 - 3.7). Using products with a pH closer to normal skin pH (roughly 4.5 - 5.5) means the product will be gentler on the skin and be less likely to disrupt the skin’s normal state. Mild disruptions can apparently actually be beneficial to skin because in equalizing itself the skin actually stimulates the production of certain good substances. (But too big of a disruption can make skin dry or flaky, and take longer to recover.) The lower pH on the Alpha-H product helps it penetrate more despite being a lower % of glycolic, and in fact Alpha-H even says the low pH in their formula forces the skin to work harder to reset itself. From what I have felt on my own skin, these two products end up working about the same in terms of sweeping away dead skin cells. I didn’t notice much benefit from the other ingredients in the Alpha-H, although I have just started using it without applying a moisturizer (I found a suggestion online to use it every other night, and not to apply anything else on top). I’ll keep up that routine for a few weeks, and then re-try the Alpha-H in the fall and winter to see how it compares in a different season. In the meantime, I would love to try the Liquid Gold Midnight Reboot Serum from Alpha-H, which combines a higher level of glycolic acid (14%) with granactive retinoid!

I have been wanting to compare Glycolic Acid to Lactic Acid so it was a treat to recieve this liquid exfoliant. I do not notice much of a difference, besides that my skin does like Glycolic a little more. I like that it is fragrance free (thank you!) and great for anti-aging, dark spots, and uneven texture, because I mean... who doesn't deal with any texture, right? I love using this product in the evenings (alternating with my Lactic Acid) and washing away the dead skin cells in the morning. Hello smooth canvas for makeup application! I really like this product and recommend it #SephoraxAlphaH #contest #complimentary #Skincare #SkincareJunkie #Beauty #LoveYourSkin

I received this complimentary and was excited to give it a try. I love the flip cap in addition to the pop off cap to make sure there is no spillage. The product made my skin feel mildly irritated on use, but this was alleviated with follow up of a serum/moisturizer. I did not experience any residual redness or irritation afterwards, and with continued use the texture of my skin is overall improved.

I’ve been using this the past 2 weeks and have seen a visible difference in my skin. This helps reduce the texture on my forehead and lighten a few of my hyperpigmentation spots. I’m excited to continue using this and will definitely purchase after my complimentary product from influenster.

I was a bit skeptical to try this product because I don’t usually like exfoliating liquids but I really enjoyed this one! I love that there’s a cap that goes over the flip top lid so there’s that extra protection so it doesn’t spill. The liquid itself is really gentle yet effective. You feel a slight tingle/burn if you have acne but I don’t mind that. It’s not tacky at all after application which is great. Typically liquid exfoliants make my skin feel suffocated and I end up washing them off because I hate the feeling of skincare just sitting on the skin but this doesn’t leave that feeling at all. Def recommend if you have oily skin.

Loving the tingle… loving the glow! I use this in connection with my medical grade skincare routine. I do feel like it has added some radiance to my skin. Because it has AHAs in it, it does tingle but I enjoy it. I know it’s working. I have many freckles and I do think this targets the pigmentation. Overall, Im pleased!

First let me start by saying I’m pregnant and this is pregnancy friendly (hard to find so I thought I’d call that out). My esthetician advised me that it was a good product and to give it a try. Once she gave me the go ahead I realized how true it is that glycolic acid does wonders for your face. My face looked brighter and i glowed. Highly recommend!

I received this Alpha H liquid gold from Influenster to try and I'm giving it a 3.5 stars. I already use a glycolic acid and this seems to do the same thing as the one I already have, but it's triple the price. It didn't seem to do anything extra that I would consider it worth the extra money. Plus I really don't like the packaging! It has a deceiving lid that makes the bottle look almost double the actual size. It has a flip cap on the actual product, plus the deceiving lid, but somehow the product is still able to leak. If you have the money and want to splurge, this product works and didn't give me any tingling or negative side effects, but there are equally good and better products out there for less.
