Review for Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment - 1 week, 1 day ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 5
I honestly do think Good Genes is a fantastic product, but let's any unrealistic expectations out of the way.

I already have pretty good skin with minimal breakouts and minimal issues with redness and a few dark spots I'd like to work on. I'd heard good things about this, and was curious to give it a try.
The first thing I noticed was the smell, and not in a good way. I really don't know how to describe it, but it does go away after less than a minute after rubbing the product in. I personally didn't notice any stinging sensations, but I've used a lot of AHA,BHA and lactic acid products in the past. The consistency is more like a light moisturizer than a serum, and absorbs fairly quickly into the skin. I use is after the Luna Oil, and find the combination of the two products most effective.

It look several weeks of consistent five day a week use to see any difference. And I did! My whole complexion just seems brighter somehow. But more than that I can't get over how soft my skin is- and that IS something I notice after the first use. It's also begun to lighten one of the dark spots I have that's been a problem for years. I don't notice that it's lightened my freckles any, but I'm not looking for that effect either.

Overall: There is something unique about Good Genes, especially in combination with the Luna Oil. Be careful if you have sensitive skin, and I would say this should probably not be something you use every night (but okay to use most nights if you like). It will do a fantastic job of brightening your complexion and evening skin tone, but don't expect it to work over night. It will make your skin baby soft, and this might actually happen over night if you're luck.

Why I took off one star: The smell (would it have been THAT hard to formulate something that smelled a little better??) and the price. It's costly. If you can afford it, go for it. If you can manage to get it when it's not full price? Even better. Either way,  it's a product worth having if you can swing it.

Review for Sigma Beauty F42 Strobing Fan - 2 weeks, 1 day ago
This is my every day go to highlighting brush. It is fantastic with exact placement- along the tops of cheep bones and along the brow bone. It's effective whether you're looking for a subtle glow or see-it-from-orbit highlight. It's sturdy too. I've been using it (and washing it frequently) for well over a year without a single sign of shedding. It's not the cheapest brush, but it's hardly the most expensive either, and well worth the price. If you're looking for a workhorse highlighting fan brush, this is a fantastic choice.
Review for Real Techniques Bold Metals 202 Angled Liner Brush - 2 weeks, 1 day ago

This is what I like to call an idiot proof eyeliner brush. It works fantastically with gel eyeliner, and just as well with eye shadow and a mixer like Mac's fix plus. I like how short and relatively stiff the bristles are. They allow for a great amount of control while creating a flawless look. Real Techniques is affordable as always, but this brush is built well enough to get a lot of use out of it. Frankly I've ended up liking Real Technique's tools/brushes better than more expensive alternatives, and this brush falls right in line with that! If you're wondering what's going wrong with your eyeliner technique, try this brush. No matter what happens you can't go wrong!
Review for GLAMGLOW® Bubblesheet™ - 2 weeks, 2 days ago

My first thought while trying this mask- "This is so weird!"- and it most definitely is a unique product. That said, as much as I love GlamGlow, they have better products.

I got this in my FFF box, and was eager to try it. Out of the package it's loaded with tons of cleanser, which comes across as slimy. After putting it on your fave, the bubbles start to build up. I feel like there might be too much product on the mask, because mine was so heavy with it that it kept sliding down my face. I had to be very careful not to get any of the cleanser in my eyes, and it was a chore to make sure it didn't, even though the wear time was only 3 minutes.

After I took it off there were so.many.bubbles. My sink was full of them, and the lather was awesome. I can say without a doubt that I felt VERY clean after using this mask. Would I recommend switching this out with your daily cleanser? Definitely not. But I would recommend using this whenever you feel like you need a deep clean. I can imagine using this after a long, hectic work week and feeling like you washed the week's stress away. This isn't something I'd use all the time, but having used this, I think there will be times in the future where this will be just the thing I need.

Review for OLEHENRIKSEN Hygge Hydraclay™ Detox Mask - 2 weeks, 2 days ago

This has to be one of the most unique clay masks I have ever tried. I happen to be a mask maniac, but I have a tendency to avoid clay masks because of the way they can feel heavy or drying on the skin. This mask blew all of my expectations out of the water on those grounds. It's light and creamy with a lovely botanical scent. It was so light and creamy that I actually grabbed the tube to make sure I hadn't accidentally grabbed moisturizer instead. Nope! It was all this lovely clay and botanical oil magic. I also found that it didn't really dry down like a lot of clay masks do, which I think contributes to how well this product moisturizes. It has a very pleasant botanical scent as well. I didn't notice a huge change in my skin after using this, but it's nice enough that I plan to keep it in my regular rotation. If you're looking for a lovely, light, and hydrating clay mask, I highly recommend this!

This is hands down, my HG conditioning mask. I started using it on the recommendation of my former hair stylist.

At that time I was dying part of my hair pastel pink, and he recommended mixing in a popular color depositing hair mask with the DevCurl mask as a way to refresh the color while conditioning it to avoid damage from the dye. It worked SO well. I was hooked. Between the soft matcha scent of this mask and how soft and shiny it left my hair, I knew I'd found a HG.

I don't color my hair like that any more, but the DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture continues to be a staple for me. I absolutely recommend this product for anyone who needs to protect or restore moisture to their hair, color treated or otherwise. I can honestly say this is a fantastic product!
Review for Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask - 2 weeks, 2 days ago
I received this in a subscription box, and was eager to try it on my color treated hair. I do have to say it definitely left my hair super soft and shiny. I don't think it did much to control my frizz over all, but it I do think that overall it did help with dryness after harsh color treatments after a few uses.
Review for tarte Blush 101 Amazonian Clay Blush Palette - 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 5
If I'm rating this on the quality of the product alone, I'd say it's at 5 stars. Tarte knows how to do blush- it's pigmented, blends well and wears well through out the day. If you're looking for a one stop blush shop palette, this certainly meets the criteria. So why am I knocking off a star? This is something we've seen from Tarte nearly every year. Their products work well and are lovely, but I feel like we're seeing the same products released in different packaging over and over again. We get a blush palette yearly. This year it's in notebook shape. Oh hey look, there's a single bronzer and highlight. If you fit the complexion to use them that does make it stand out a little more, but otherwise it's nothing special. If you've bought ANY other blush palette from Tarte, you don't need this. If  you just have a nice curated collection of Tarte blushes, you don't need this. If you're new to Tarte or makeup in general, this WOULD be a perfect way to build a blush wardrobe. Otherwise, no matter how nice the product is or how reasonably priced is may be, you have dupes. Trust me.

Review for tarte Scrub Clean Cleansing Set - 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 5
I've gotten this set a hand full of times, and I was surprised at how much I ended up loving it. The Frixxxtion Stick was the star of the show in my opinion. It's a fantastic physical exfoliant without being too harsh. It's perfect for travel since it's a three in one cleanser, exfoliator, and mask. It leaves my skin refreshed and glowing. The deep dive cleansing gel is okay- it does the job, but it nothing to write home about. The scrubbing pad I could have done without. But at the price point it's a fantastic way to try the products!
