I'm Mom to 2 wonderful daughters & 3 adorable cats (also 3 gerbils). I am married to an amazing man!
I love testing all sorts of products, especially in the beauty category; it's also super helpful when I get to try out stuff that I can use around the house or for my husband/kids/pets.
I am SO in love with K-Beauty products. If you like my lists please make sure to leave a comment telling me which of your lists you want me to check out. Have a great day! :)
My favourite store! There is one right down the road from my house. On their app, they often have "weekend samplers" which is usually at least one freebie. If they are out of that product before the sampler coupon expires, you can get a raincheck. I've tried so many awesome products this way!
They have a lot of great products, especially in the bakery, deli, meat and produce sections. I also find a lot of great deals on clearance, and during their sales. The one near me is open until midnight, which is great when I don't want to drive all the way to Walmart for something, and everything else is closed at ten.
When I have a really achy back, or sore legs/arms, this is my absolute favourite product to use! I just slap on a Salonpas patch and let it do it's thing. It is so soothing once it takes effect. It really penetrates the skin and has this amazing icy sensation. If I could just roll into a giant Salonpas patch when I'm feeling especially achy all over, that would be amazing. It is nice that I don't have to worry about any messy products, since you just peel off the patch and smooth it on wherever you need it.
It did a decent job at removing my makeup though I felt it wouldn't be as good on its own. Since I use two cleansers (Korean skincare routine) that wasn't a huge issue for me. I have combination skin and this didn't leave me feeling dry or irritated at all. I didn't have any issues with feeling like residue was left. I like that my face feels hydrated after using this. If I didn't have a skincare routine that used two cleansers, I might not like this as much, but it works with my current routine.
I looove this brand! And I love sheet masks. So, of course I couldn't resist trying some Tony Moly sheet masks. I really enjoyed this one. I have combination skin. This mask did not cause any irritation or breakouts, and left my skin feeling soft. This seaweed one also helps soothe my skin. If you have issues with redness, you may like this one.
Influenster sent me two complimentary jars with #PureLeaf #matcha & matcha + ginger #tea satchets, to test and review!
I drink a lot of green tea, but it had been a while since I made matcha at home. I really like the taste of both teas. If you've never had matcha, it's very earthy, especially with ginger (which also adds a nice spiciness). The convenience of making this brand of matcha is nice. I just rip open a satchet, pour it into my #teacup, whisk with some hot water, and then with the remaining water after that.
The directions say to use 8 oz. hot water overall, but I personally feel that waters it down too much; I use less water or two satchets. :)
I received Milk and Cookies as well as Cowboy in a Voxbox. They weren't the ideal shades I would have chosen, but I still like them well enough.
This liquid lipstick has a yummy sweet scent. The Milk and Cookies colour is a taupe brown and is very pigmented. I like the design of the applicator, and found it really easy to apply. I didn't need to use any lip liner at all. The formula holds up for hours with little to no transfer, doesn't dry out my lips, and only has a little tackiness to it. It is hands down my favourite matte liquid lipstick! I can't believe this is a drugstore product.
Even when I ate, it either faded very gracefully or didn't fade at all, depending on what I was eating. I am impressed with the staying power of this liquid lipstick! It isn't a super matte look but it is matte enough for me.
I made sure to prep my lips with a lip scrub, and when I wanted to remove it I used coconut or olive oil. When I swatched this lipstick, nothing except oil or oil-based cleansers would remove it. I tried liquid soap, a soap bar, makeup remover, and it didn't budge at all!
Overall, if you're looking for a long-wearing, pigmented matte liquid lipstick that hardly transfers, this might be the right line of liquid lipsticks for you! If you can't stand tackiness in your lip products though, you might not like it. I am so happy that Influenster sent me these, because I am definitely going to purchase more shades!
I received a complimentary Maybelline The City Mini Palette in Rooftop Bronzes from Influenster, to test and review.
I love the size of this palette because it is easy to take with me on the go and at home it doesn't take up much space. I initially was hoping for one of the ones with more bold colour (especially purple to bring out the green in my eyes!) since my eyes have brown in them, my skin is tan, and my hair is brown, but I can't really complain since it was free to test.
I swatched the colours; they were decently pigmented but more so when I sprayed setting spray on my brushes first. I think the lightest colour in this palette took a few layers to show up as well as the rest. I used primer on my eyelids, and everything blended nicely as long as I made sure not to blend TOO much (then all the shades end up looking too similar). There was a little fallout and not much kick up. Every colour in Rooftop Bronzes is glittery, and I would've preferred at least one matte shade so I wouldn't *have* to use other palettes to get a complete look. The eyeshadow stayed on me for a little while without fading or smudging, which was nice.
Overall, I think the shades are beautiful and that this is a nice palette. I am considering purchasing at least one of the other ones (probably Chill Brunch Neutrals). I think the price is nice, for being less than ten bucks. It isn't my favourite drugstore eyeshadow palette, but I do like it and have used it many times in various looks. I plan to keep using it.
I am in love with this palette! I almost bought one initially after swatching at Ulta, but hesitated because I wanted to look at online reviews first. It was the last one they had, and I immediately regretted not buying it! I had to wait a few months when thankfully they restocked this palette. I grabbed it finally and I'm so happy I got it! The colours are beautiful and pigmented. My absolute favourite thing about this pallete, though, are the highlighters. They are amazing. I can't believe how affordable this pallete was. I highly recommend it if you are looking for pretty eyeshadows, amazing highlighters, and an affordable palette!
I received the LIFEWTR voxbox recently, with the larger size bottle. I also purchased the flip top bottle. I prefer the latter! But the water is refreshing, and I love the bottle designs. I especially love that I can reuse the bottles. Overall I'd say this is my favourite bottled water so far!
