What To Bring: Weekend Roadtrip

Share Tweet Pin

It’s summertime - which means it’s travel time. Whether you’re jetting to the opposite coast or enjoying a staycation, we’re envious of your summer plans already. If your vacation days are slim and you’re pining for the sun and sand from the confines of your cubicle, don’t lose hop! We think nothing beats the charm of the weekend roadtrip. And if the stress of packing is holding you back, never fear, just book your Zipcar and leave the rest to us.

Audio books and/or podcasts

Even if you’ve got a bud or two along for the ride, we guarantee that things will get slow after a few hours on the road. Plug in one of these and the beach will only be 50 Shades of Gray away.

Camera

You’ll be making some memories and it would be crazy not to record them. Whether you’ll be packing your DSLR or tossing some disposables into your glove compartment, be sure to bring some extra memory or grab an extra Kodakyou’ll be needing it.

Snacks

And lots of them. Crunchy, chewy, sweet, or sour - you never know what you’ll want while you’re driving in the middle of nowhere (and we’re all about being prepared for those kinds of emergencies), so you might as well bring ‘em all.

Wipes

Things will spill. Things will drip. That soda can will fall out of that shaky cupholder and onto your lap. But lucky for you, you’re prepared for this. For those unforeseeable messes, stash some baby wipes next to those disposable Kodaks.

Sunscreen

Those sweet shades aren’t going to protect the rest of you from getting scorched en route. Play it safe and slather on some SPF before you hit the road. Influensters love Coppertone Sport’s Ultra Sweatproof Sunscreen Lotion, which won’t budge even if you break a sweat. If you’re not a fan of that sunscreen smell, although it does remind us of hanging out by the pool, then you might opt for the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen (recently featured in our Surf’s Up VoxBox) which will protect you from the sun’s rays and leave your skin feeling smooth and nourished.
