The Word: emollient

What it means: mixtures of chemical agents that soothe the external layers of skin by adding hydration; to have relaxing or softening power, especially in relation to the skin.

Also known as: lotions, moisturizers, balms

What it does: keeps your skin supple and healthy, aids in treating eczema or chronic dry skin
