Weird Product Alert: Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
If you have acne-prone or oily skin, a clay mask may already be a staple in your beauty routine. Whether it's charcoal infused or magnetic—if we see the word "mask," we're in. Recently while combing through an online K-beauty store's selection, we noticed the word "volcanic" and did a double take.
The Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Mask is one of this top Korean brand's best sellers, and it all boils down to the restorative powers of volcanic clay.
What it does: The key ingredient in this mask is Jeju volcanic lava (also known as scoria). The lava is gathered after volcanic eruptions on the Jeju Island of South Korea. The minerals in the lava absorb impurities and excess sebum that are deeply embedded in the pores while exfoliating—leaving your skin bright, smooth, and squeaky clean.
How to use it: After cleansing, wipe your face with toner to remove makeup residue. Then, take some of the mask product and apply evenly all over the face. Leave it there for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. You'll notice a brighter looking complexion and smaller pores. Over time it'll wash away black heads.
